Chelsea is set to make a move in signing Barcelona’s star, Philippe Coutinho as a replacement for Eden Hazard who has been confirmed to leave the Blues this summer. https://i2.wp.com/dakingsman.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/header-136.jpg?w=636&ssl=1 According to Goal, there is a rumour indicating that Coutinho still wants to stay at Barcelona in Camp Nou despite his first bad full appearances though it was also confirmed that some officials of the Blaugrana’s board of directors are determined to sell this summer. Coutinho has failed to perform well ever since he was sold from Liverpool in a £105 million ($135m) deal in January 2018, even though he played his part in two Liga title wins. Fans were not happy at him after he placed his fingers in his ears so as to drown out his critics following his long-range strike against Manchester United, and jeers from the stands have become more prevalent as a result. A disappointing performance against his former club at Anfield as Barca crashed out of Europe saw further questions asked of the 26-year-old, and the number of dissenting voices inside the club are now growing. Meanwhile, Chelsea is set to let Hazard leave the club this summer, with the forward having dropped his biggest hint yet that he wants to join Real Madrid. Yoruba socio-cultural group has warned the Yorubas over the Fulani herdsmen taking control of southwest states in Nigeria. https://i0.wp.com/dakingsman.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Fulani-Herdsmen.jpg?w=640&ssl=1 A pan Yoruba socio-cultural group, Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation, has raised the alarm over alleged taking over of states in the South West region by some people suspected to be herdsmen. The group made this known via a statement sent to the current and governors-elect in the region, a copy, which was obtained by DAILY POST on Monday. There are six states that make up of the South West region. They are Oyo Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos. Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation in the statement sent to the Governors and Governors-elect, urged the chief executive officers in the states to be vigilant, stating that the entire region has been surrounded by criminals from within and outside the shores of Nigeria who pretend to be herdsmen. The group called on the governors to rise above partisan interest and take actions aimed towards safeguarding their people against internal and external aggressions, stressing that posterity and history would never forgive any of them who, for the sake of party politics, stare helplessly while their land is annexed. In the statement signed by Otunba Deji Osibogun (Convener) and Senator Tokunbo Ogunbanjo (Trustee), the group urged the governors to as a matter of urgency, call for an emergency meeting and invite relevant stakeholders to take a common position on how Yoruba Nation will be protected against attacks. The long-awaited 2019 UTME results have been officially released by Jamb today. https://dakingsman.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/JAMB0.jpg The JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, revealed this at the board’s headquarters in Abuja while parading a staff member of the examination board, Mr. Adamu Musa, who allegedly collected N25,000 from an admission seeker in 2018. Oloyede said the breakdown of the UTME results would be revealed at a detailed briefing on Saturday. The 2019 UTME held between April 11 and April 18 in 698 computer-based test centres nationwide with over 1,886,000 candidates sitting the exam. The board had said it was screening the UTME results for malpractices, saying 123 suspects had been arrested and were standing trial nationwide. While parading Musa, a JAMB worker attached to the Information Technology Service, the registrar said, “He collected N25,000 for admission. So, we are not hiding anything. Even internally, we are doing scrutiny. Anybody caught will be dealt with according to the law. “We had a meeting on Friday. So, we are releasing our results tomorrow (Saturday).” Speaking with newsmen, Musa confessed to the crime, adding that he had refunded N10,000 to the admission seeker when the admission did not come through. He said, “The person came to me for admission and I told him that I knew people who would help. I collected N25,000 from him. But it did not work. So I refunded N10,000. He was the one who reported to the registrar. The person I contacted to assist the admission seeker said they had already closed the admission. “I apologise and I want JAMB to temper justice with mercy. This is the first candidate I collected money from.” One Bakare Damilola, who paid Musa N25,000, said trouble started when the admission did not come through and the JAMB worker refused to refund the money. He said, “I am not the one seeking admission. I was sent by the father of the candidate involved. I came and explained everything to this man (Musa). I wrote the candidate’s registration number down and he asked me to wait outside. Later, he told me it would involve money. “The father of the girl, Mr Olaoye, who is based in Lagos State, sent the money to Musa’s account and I have the teller. Mr Olaoye was desperate for the admission of his daughter because she had stayed home for eight years. Eventually, the admission did not come through. We asked Musa to refund the money. He kept postponing and I reported him to the registrar.” READ MORE NEWS >>> https://dakingsman.com/2019/05/11/now-official-jamb-releases-2019-utme-results/ |
