PRAYER POINTS ON "GOD HATES BARRENNESS"

Father, I thank You for being a God of fruitfulness and multiplication, and for Your command in Genesis 1:28 to "be fruitful and multiply." Thank You for Your promise in Exodus 23:26 that there shall be no barren in the land, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I repent of any unbelief, doubt, or discouragement I may have harbored concerning any form of barrenness in my life. Forgive me for any negativity that has hindered Your divine will for my fruitfulness, in Jesus' name.

Father, I pray for every individual experiencing **physical barrenness** (infertility); may the tide turn for them this year. Let every medical report contrary to Your word be nullified, and let wombs be opened by Your power, in Jesus' name.

I pray against every **spiritual barrenness** in my life, hindering my spiritual growth, effectiveness, and impact for Your kingdom. Let every chain of spiritual stagnation be broken now, in Jesus' name.

Lord, according to Your word in 1 Samuel 2:5, I declare that the barren shall bear seven. I claim divine fruitfulness in every area of my life – **marital, financial, material, and mental** – and I pray for an abundance of breakthroughs, in Jesus' name.

Father, for anyone experiencing **financial barrenness**, I pray that You will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that there won't be room enough to receive. Send divine opportunities and strategies for wealth creation, in Jesus' name.

I pray against every individual or force that has spoken or acted against my fruitfulness in any area of my life. Deal with them, O Lord, according to Your righteousness, and let Your word concerning my fruitfulness come to pass without delay, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I receive grace to keep trusting in You and Your unfailing word concerning my destiny of fruitfulness. Strengthen my faith and grant me patience as I await Your perfect timing and abundant manifestation, in Jesus' name.

Father, just as You caused the barren woman in the devotional to give birth to twins after twelve years, I pray for speedy manifestations of fruitfulness for every individual believing You for a breakthrough from barrenness. Let every long-standing delay come to an end, in Jesus' name.

I pray for divine wisdom to identify and overcome any root cause of barrenness in my life. Guide my steps and open my eyes to see clearly, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I pray for Pastor E. A. Adeboye, that You continue to empower him with Your anointing to set the captives free and bring people into their divine inheritance of fruitfulness. Strengthen him to be a channel of Your grace to those experiencing any form of barrenness, in Jesus' name.

My personal prayer point: (Add your specific prayer regarding barrenness, e.g., "Father, I pray for [mention specific name] that You will open their womb and grant them the children they desire, in Jesus' name." or "Lord, I pray for an overflowing of creative ideas and opportunities to banish all forms of mental barrenness in my life, in Jesus' name." )

Thank You, Father, for hating barrenness and for Your unwavering commitment to make us fruitful and multiply. I receive my season of abundance in due time, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

MEMORISE:

Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:1

TEXT : Genesis 21:1-7

Genesis 21:1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

Genesis 21:2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him

Genesis 21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

Genesis 21:4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

Genesis 21:5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

Genesis 21:6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

Genesis 21:7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

MESSAGE

Yesterday, I explained that God doesn’t want you to be lonely. He wants you to be part of a family. Indeed, a man and his wife are a family, but God doesn’t want to stop there; He wants the man and his wife to be fruitful and for their union to bring forth children. If you’re married and have been waiting on God for the fruit of the womb, congratulations because the wait is over.

In Genesis 1:26-28 He issued a command to you to be fruitful and multiply. In Exodus 23:26, He said that there shall be none barren in the land, and in 1 Samuel 2:5 He promised that the barren will bear seven children.

You might be saying, “God, all I want is one child.” Well, just know that you can bear as many children as you want; where you choose to stop depends on you.

Several years ago, we held a programme in a town called Ota in Ogun State, Nigeria. A lady who had been barren for about twelve years attended and asked that we pray for her because her husband’s relatives had threatened to throw her out of her matrimonial home within that year if she did not bear a child. I prayed for her, and she left.

The following year, we were holding another programme elsewhere, and there was a long queue of people who wanted me to pray for them. Unknown to me, the lady was also there, and when it got to her turn, she kept opening her mouth to speak, but she said nothing.
Eventually, she was able to utter just one word, “Jesus!” When she could finally speak, she said that she was the barren woman I had prayed for the previous year. That was when I realised why she had been speechless; she was overjoyed because she had given birth to twins – she was carrying them in both of her arms!

Beloved, God hates all forms of barrenness because it goes against His command to be fruitful and multiply in Genesis 1:26-28 . If you are experiencing marital, financial, material, mental, or any other form of barrenness in your life, I pray that God will cause you to sing for joy because of His abundance in those areas of your life, in Jesus’ name.
Also, if you are reading this devotional today and you’re waiting for the fruit of the womb, in the name above all other names, your womb is opened. Go and carry your children, in Jesus’ name.

Action Point

Sing for joy because God has not created you to be barren but to be fruitful and multiply.

HYMN 26: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

3 There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honor Thy Word. [Refrain]

4 There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

THEME: GOD HATES LONELINESS

MEMORISE: God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalm 68:6

READ: Isaiah 34:16-17

16 Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.

MESSAGE

In Mathew 6:9, Jesus taught us to start our prayers with Our Father. God is a family man'. He loves the concept of family and hates loneliness. In Genesis 2:18, He said that it is not good that a man should be alone. If you're of marriageable age and can't seem to find the right companion to get married to, or if there are forces preventing you from getting married, I pray that the tide will turn this year, in Jesus' Name.

During one of our programmes several years ago, God's word came that the mother of one of the sisters in the congregation was diabolically preventing her from getting married. God said that the mother would be buried within seven days if she continued to prevent her daughter from getting married. The following day, a lady came with her mother to my office. The mother was furious, and she said, "You stupid prophets brainwash our girls. Imagine telling my daughter that I am responsible for her not getting married." I replied, "Me? Sister, did I say that? What God said is that the mother of a sister in the congregation was preventing her from getting married. Did I mention your name?" Then I turned to the mother, "Mama, don't mind her. Nobody mentioned her name." The mother then asked her daughter to leave my office because she wanted to speak with me alone. As her daughter went out, she turned to me, "Pastor, is it true that the mother of the fellow concerned will die?" I said, "I'm not talking about you, but what God said will come to pass. Before the week ends, whoever it is will be buried." The woman began to stammer, "I’m not asking her not to marry, but who is going to take care of me after she's married?" I said, "That's simple; I can make her and her husband promise to take good care of you." The lady, who was almost 40 years old and had not had any suitors, got married within six months.

In today's Bible reading, God promised that nobody will lack their mate. If you are feeling lonely, I pray that God will restore the broken relationships in your life or send the right companions your way. For someone reading this today, God will deal with anybody who says that you will not get married. He will settle you maritally in due time, in Jesus' name. God's word will never fail; keep trusting in Him.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please always send the right companions to me, in Jesus' Name.

HYMN 6: I AM SO GLAD THAT OUR FATHER IN HEAV'N
1 I am so glad that our Father in heav’n
Tells of His love in the Book He has giv’n;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see:
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

CHORUS
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

2 Though I forget Him and wander away,
Still He doth love me whenever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee,
When I remember that Jesus loves me.

3 Oh, if there’s only one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song in eternity be:
“Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me.”

MEMORISE: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

READ: Josh 2:1-24

1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.

3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.

4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.

6 But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.

7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;

9 And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:

13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

14 And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

15 Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

16 And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

17 And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.

18 Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.

19 And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

20 And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

21 And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

22 And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

23 So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:

24 And they said unto Joshua, Truly the Lord hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

MESSAGE
Some people speak to strangers rudely, especially those who seem to be of a lower social status than them. Some other people answer phone calls from phone numbers that are not on their contact list as if the fellow on the line is being a nuisance. They don't wait to know who is on the line; they just pick up and ask harshly, "Who's this?!" Hebrews 13:2 says that you should be kind to all men because you don't know when you will meet an angel. Do you know that God can send your helper to you through a phone call?

I shared a story in this devotional two days ago about how I was in need of £50 during a trip to the UK several years ago. I asked God for £50, and some minutes later, my phone rang. The fellow at the other end said, "Biyi?" 1 replied, “There’s no Biyi here." He asked, "Is that so and so number?" I said, "Yes, but there's no Biyi here." So, he said, “I’m sorry." I replied, "That's okay, God bless you." Then he said, "What do you mean God bless me? How do you know God?" I replied, "He’s, my savior." Then he asked, "Who am I talking to?" I told him my name, and that was how God used him to answer my request for £50. Imagine if l had spoken harshly to him because I didn't know him and we were only speaking because he had dialed the wrong number, I would have missed God's blessing.

In today's Bible reading, Rahab the harlot showed kindness to the spies. She took a big risk by keeping them in her house. Her kindness later saved her family when the walls of Jericho crumbled (Joshua 6:22-25). It also positioned her as one of the great-great-grandmothers of Jesus (Matthew 1:5) and ensured she was included in the hall of faith (Hebrews 11:31).

Proverbs 31:26 tells us about the virtuous woman who opens her mouth with wisdom and has the law of kindness in her tongue. Be kind with your words and in your actions towards others. Let your words make people hopeful, not depressed and dejected. You will reap whatever seed you sow.

Beloved, God could decide to answer your prayer through a 'wrong number call or a random conversation with a and courteous. I pray you won't miss God's blessings for you, in Jesus' name.

KEY POINT

Be kind and courteous at all times.

1 I want to be like Jesus,
So lowly and so meek;
For no one marked an angry word
That ever heard him speak.

Refrain:
I want to be like Jesus,
God's well beloved Son;
I want to be like Jesus,
The pure and holy One.

2 I want to be like Jesus,
So frequently in prayer;
Alone upon the mountain top,
He met his Father there.

3 I want to be like Jesus,
Engaged in doing good,
So that of me it may be said,
He hath done what he could.

4 Alas! I'm not like Jesus,
As any one may see;
Thy gentle Spirit, Savior, send,
And make me like to thee.

PRAYER POINTS ON "DON'T THINK FOR GOD"

Father, I thank You for Your infinite wisdom and unsearchable ways, far beyond human comprehension, as declared in **Romans 11:33**. You are truly beyond understanding, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I repent of every instance where I have tried to limit You by my own understanding or attempted to figure out "how" You will accomplish Your will in my life. Forgive my doubt and limited perspective, in Jesus' name.

Father, I pray for a spirit of absolute trust in Your divine power and wisdom. Help me to simply ask, obey Your instructions, and leave the "how" entirely to You, in Jesus' name.

I receive the grace to rest in the knowledge that Your thoughts are not my thoughts, and Your ways are higher than my ways, as stated in **Isaiah 55:8-9**, in Jesus' name.

Lord, open my eyes to see Your boundless capacity, knowing that what is impossible with man is possible with You. Remove every mental barrier that limits my faith in Your ability, in Jesus' name.

Father, instill in me the faith to believe that when I ask, You already have a perfect and often unimaginable plan to bring it to pass. Help me to simply believe and not overthink it, in Jesus' name.

I pray for divine discernment to recognize and obey Your instructions when they come, even if they seem unconventional or illogical to my human mind, in Jesus' name.

Lord, help me to remember the testimony of Pastor E. A. Adeboye, and how You supernaturally confirmed Your choice of him in ways he could never have conceived, strengthening my trust in Your methods, in Jesus' name.

Father, grant me the grace to let go of my need to control or understand every detail, and instead, to surrender fully to Your perfect will and timing, in Jesus' name.

I pray that my life will be a living testimony of Your miraculous workings, where Your power and wisdom are evident, even in situations where human logic fails, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I pray for Pastor E. A. Adeboye, that You will continue to reveal Your unsearchable wisdom to him and use him mightily to teach Your people the power of unquestioning trust and obedience, in Jesus' name.

My personal prayer point: (Add your specific prayer regarding trusting God without trying to understand His methods, e.g., "Father, I specifically ask You for [mention specific need], and I surrender all thoughts about how You will do it, trusting fully in Your power and wisdom, in Jesus' name." or "Lord, help me to overcome my tendency to overthink and trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way, in Jesus' name." )

Thank You, Father, for Your unfathomable wisdom and power. I receive the grace to ask, trust, and obey, leaving the "how" entirely to You, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

MEMORISE: Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? But the thunder of his power who can understand? Job 26:14

READ: Romans 11:33-36

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

MESSAGE

Many times, believers ask God for things and then begin to think about how He will achieve them. In reality, however, our brains cannot understand how God will do the things He wishes to do. For instance, when a man says he has a PhD in Mathematics, it may sound like a big deal, but in truth, he can only be a specialist in an aspect of the subject. If he finds himself among fellow mathematicians, they will begin to ask him questions like, "What is your area of specialization?" If he says, "Applied Maths", they might further ask, "What section of Applied Maths?" He might respond, "Fluid Dynamics". They can still ask, what
section of Fluid Dynamics?" The questioning can go on until it becomes evident that his PhD degree is just a little pinhead in Mathematics. It will take you over 1,000 years to know all there is to know about Mathematics.

However, God knows all Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, and all other subjects, including those that are yet to be discovered. You simply can't compare your wisdom and knowledge to His. Why, then, do believers try to calculate how He will choose to do something?

When I became the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1981, quite a few people in the church thought that my appointment was rigged. They thought that I used my position as a Mathematics lecturer to manipulate the General Superintendent because he was uneducated. I looked up to God to show the people that I did not maneuver my way into becoming the General Overseer and that He choose me Himself. God then began to do something extraordinary. We used to hold monthly seminars for some days, and on the first day of each seminar, a woman would deliver a baby boy in our maternity center. After several months of this happening, it became clear that it was not coincidental, and those with spiritual understanding among us discerned that it was a sign from God confirming that He had chosen me Himself. l could never have imagined that God would use this as one of the ways to confirm that He had chosen me.

Beloved, when you ask God for something, please don’t ever think of how He will do it because it is beyond you. Just ask, obey whatever instructions He gives you, and leave the rest to Him.

KEY POINT

When you ask God for something, don't think about how He will do it; only trust and obey Him.

PRAYER POINTS ON "BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT"

Father, I thank You for Your word that reminds me of the power of asking and receiving, and for Your abundant provision for Your children, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I repent of every instance where I have suffered in silence, failed to ask, or asked too small, limiting Your ability to bless me abundantly, in Jesus' name.

Father, I pray for a spirit of boldness to ask for all my needs according to Your will, knowing that Your capacity to provide is limitless, in Jesus' name.

I receive the grace to trust in Your promise in John 16:24, that if I ask in Your name, I shall receive, that my joy may be full, in Jesus' name.

Lord, open my eyes to see the abundance You have prepared for me, and help me to overcome any fear or hesitation in bringing my big requests before You, in Jesus' name.

Father, instill in me the faith to believe that my "big requests" are "little things" for You to fulfill, just as You provided twelve extra baskets after feeding thousands, in Jesus' name.

I pray for divine discernment to know Your will concerning my needs, so that my requests align perfectly with Your divine plan for my life, in Jesus' name.

Lord, help me to remember the testimony of Pastor E. A. Adeboye, and how You supernaturally provided for him beyond what he initially asked for, in Jesus' name.

Father, grant me the courage to ask for more when You show Your willingness to give, not out of greed, but out of a deeper understanding of Your boundless generosity, in Jesus' name.

I pray that my life will be a testament to Your abundant provision and the fullness of joy that comes from asking and receiving from You, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I pray for Pastor E. A. Adeboye, that You will continue to bless him abundantly and use him to teach Your people the power of audacious prayer and asking, in Jesus' name.

My personal prayer point: (Add your specific prayer regarding asking God for your needs, e.g., "Father, I specifically ask You to provide [mention specific need] according to Your riches in glory, in Jesus' name." or "Lord, help me to overcome the fear of asking You for big things, and to trust in Your supernatural provision for my family, in Jesus' name." )

Thank You, Father, for Your willingness to give abundantly. I receive the grace to ask, believe, and receive all that You have for me, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

MEMORISE: Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24

READ: John 20:5-13
5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

MESSAGE
James 4:2 reveals why some Christians still suffer from lack. Do you know that if you ask God to end lack in your life, He will grant your request? In today's Bible reading, Jesus fed thousands of people with five loaves of bread and two fishes. By the time everybody had been fed, they still had 12 extra baskets. When God provides for your needs, He gives you more than enough to satisfy you. Your big request is a little thing for Him to fulfil.

Years ago, I travelled to London on an official assignment, and three days before my return, I had run out of money and needed £50 to buy some books and tapes. I turned to God, "Daddy, it would be good if 1 could get £50." Shortly after, my phone rang. The fellow on the line said, "Biyi?" I told him there was nobody with that name where I was, and as we talked, he got to know who l was. Excitedly, he called out to his brother, telling him that he was speaking with me. Apparently, they had been discussing how they could see me, and I was on the phone with them. Eventually, they came over, we talked, and as they were leaving, they gave me £50. Immediately they left, I said, "Daddy, if 1 knew it would be this easy, I would've asked for £100."

As I rejoiced over the £50, the doorbell rang, but before I got to the door, an envelope had been slipped under the door. I opened it and realized it came from a wealthy man who had never given me a dime before. Inside was £50 and a note saying, "I just felt like giving you some money." Then, I told God that if I had known that another £50 would come, I would have asked for extra £50. That night, before l slept, someone gave me another £50! I became afraid and told God that I was only joking and didn't want to offend Him. God reminded me of this incident recently and told me l had been foolish. "If you asked Me for £50 and I provided it, why didn't you ask for £5,000".

Beloved, find out God's will concerning your needs and ensure your requests are in alignment with it. Stop complaining about lack in your life; rather, ask God to meet your exact needs. Do not waver in faith, and He will surely answer you.

ACTION POINT
Ask God to provide your needs according to His will and believe that He is able to fulfil them.

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge--
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

THEME: OBEY GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS

MEMORISE: Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. Proverbs 8:10

READ: 2Kgs 5:1-14
1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

MESSAGE
In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the widow of one of the sons of the prophets was in debt, and the creditors told her that they would take her children as slaves if she failed to pay the debt. She ran to Elisha for help, and the man of God gave her instructions that seemed foolish, he told her to borrow many empty vessels from her neighbors and pour from the little bottle of oil she had into them. Miraculously, all the empty vessels were filled with oil. A lot of times, God's instructions might seem not to make sense, but if you can just obey Him, you will experience miracle.

Many years ago, the General Superintendent of the RCCG, my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, told all the church workers at a meeting that the church had a great need that must be met by the following week. He added that all the workers should close their accounts and bring the money in them to church the next Sunday.

My wife and I obeyed; we closed our savings accounts and took the money to church. The following Sunday, Papa said that the need had been met and asked how many people had closed their accounts. My wife and I raised our hands, but when I looked around, no other hands were raised. I began to think to myself, "It seems I have run mad in the name of religion," then l heard God say, "Son, you are not mad; I am setting you up so that when I take you to the height I plan to take you, nobody will be able to accuse me of being partial." It is usually not convenient to obey God's instructions. However, if you dare to obey, you will enjoy unusual results.

In today's Bible reading, Naaman, the Syrian, went to Elisha expecting a miracle. He expected the prophet to come outside and lay hands on him, but Elisha sent a messenger to him with a simple instruction: go to River Jordan and bathe seven times. As long as he kept arguing with that instruction, he remained a leper. However, the moment he obeyed the instruction, he was healed, and his flesh became like that of a little child.

Beloved, God is always willing to give you a miracle, but you must obey His instructions even when they seem foolish.

KEY POINT
Obedience to God's instructions births tremendous miracles and breakthroughs.

HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.

4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

PRAYER POINTS ON "THE FRAGRANCE OF FAVOUR"
Father, I thank You for Your unfailing love and for the promise of Your favor that is like a cloud of the latter rain, in Jesus' name.

Lord, I repent of any attitude or action that might hinder Your countenance from shining upon me and my family, in Jesus' name.

Father, as You commanded the priests to bless the Israelites, let Your face shine upon me and my family, and let the fragrance of Your favor rest upon us always, in Jesus' name.

I pray, Lord, that everywhere I go, people will find themselves showing me favor without knowing why, just as You did for Pastor E.A. Adeboye at the conference, in Jesus' name.

Father, let things work effortlessly in my favor; let every obstacle be removed and every path be made smooth by Your divine favor, in Jesus' name.

Lord, just as You gave the Israelites favor in the sight of the Egyptians, causing even their tormentors to bless them, let Your favor turn every adversary into a helper for me and my family, in Jesus' name.

Father, let Your favor upon me make even those who hate me do everything to bless me; let them not understand why they are going the extra mile to give me all I need, in Jesus' name.

I pray, Lord, that like Esther, Your favor will make me attractive and acceptable to everyone who looks at me, opening doors of opportunity and promotion, in Jesus' name.

Father, lift Your countenance upon me and my family; let Your light illuminate our paths and distinguish us for greatness, in Jesus' name.

My personal prayer point: Father, please grant me divine wisdom and discernment to recognize and walk in the fullness of Your favor in every area of my life, in Jesus' name.

Thank You, Father, for the assurance that Your favor brings life and makes all things beautiful. I receive the power to walk in the fragrance of Your favor now and always, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I come to You with a deeply repentant heart, please, forgive me and wash all my sins away with your precious blood shed at Calvary. I surrender my life to you, today, and, I accept You, as my personal Lord and Saviour. Please, come into my life and save my soul from eternal damnation.
