If you are active on LinkedIn, you will see different online predatory rogue schools, sending you private messages to come get a Doctorate certificate in their online unaccredited mushroom schools .

If you have enough money you just pay for it, after a couple of years, they send you a'doctorate certificate' that is worth less than the paper it is written on, and then you start calling yourself 'Doctor'.

There are tons of such 'schools' advertizing online and I am sure he fell for one of their scams.
