babestell: Nice topic. Am guessing those who contributed work with the civil service. What of those of us who don't contribute, can we still access the loan and how much is the interest?
don't know if non civil servants but the interest is within the region of 6 % PA

amokemi: From my own investigations, this is how it works.
1. All employees are statutorily obliged to contribute to the scheme.
2. Your employer deducts your contributions at source and remits to federal mortgage bank.(FMB)
3. You will be issued a passbook where records of your contributions will be updated on a monthly basis.
4. After contributing for six months, you can access the fund.
5. You approach a recognized primary mortgage institution(PMI)n open an account and apply through the PMI to FMB for the loan.
6. Before applying, you must have identified a property you want to buy, have your equity contribution in place with the PMI. The equity is btw 10 and 30% depending on the amount you want to apply for. The maximum you can get is #15m.
7. The interest rate on the loan is 6%.
8. It is a long and cumbersome process, but if you are patient, you will get the loan. I will advise anybody who wants to apply for it not to do it alone. You can get your colleagues who share the same vision to apply together so you can be encouraging each other.
9. Finally and most importaant, make sure you apply through a very reliable PMI because this will determine if and when you will get it.

I hope we find this very useful. God bless us all.
very useful . thanks

Link to NHS act.

National housing fund contributions can as well be accessed through participating finance houses like Union homes.

Hope this helps.

PropertiesThe National Housing Fund A Blessing Or Fraud. by Danabu(op): 3:21pm On Oct 25, 2013
for more than 10 years now workers have continued to contribute to the NHS via monthly deductions from their salaries with the hope that they will granted facilities to enable them build or buy their own homes. The more the years go bye the more of a mirage the prospects of owning their houses become with escalating prices of building materials and labour. The programmes and implementation of the NHF is becoming more vague with no result for the billions if not trillions the fund has gathered over the years. can any one assist with a critical analysis and appraisal of the fund's performance since inception to date and help with info whether one can withdraw since I don't where my money is going. some people have died without benefiting from the fund and no refund was made. Is a blessing or a fraud?

ayoku777: Gen 4v4 ...And the Lord had respect UNTO ABEL and to his offering.

Gen 4v5 ...But UNTO CAIN and to his offering he had no respect.

This two verses answer your question. God accepts a man before he accepts his offering. Cain offered his fruit but not himself. When you do that, God will respect NEITHER. God is not remotely as impressed with what we give as much as he is with our life. And that was made obvious from God's rebuke in v7 ...If THOU doest well, shall thou not be accepted? So what
as wrong with cain's offering? CAIN.

So to answer your second question, you make your offering more acceptable to God by first offering yourself. Your life is the true worth of every other thing you offer. The best offerings are the ones that come with the life of the offerer.
where was it. written. that Abel offered himself first and which version of the Bible do you read?

obadiah777: of course this is for the spiritually discerned. the direct calling of Jesus an angel is in the book of revelation, for those who say christ is not an angel

REVELATION 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
I have searched tru but could not poiny or locate the name Jesus.pls pls the Bible is written in black and white, learn to read it as it is and avoid making petsonal imputes.

simpleseyi: One more down, many more to go. All those who are sucking the masses blood will go six feet under. Jonathan's half brother, Dame Sheppopotamus's adopted mother, IBB's deputy-Augustus Aikhomu, IBB's pilfering wife- Maryam Babangida, Stella Obasanjo, Gen Owoye Azazi, Patrick Yakowa, Fashola's father, Tinubu's mother (my grandmother is 107 and still playing basketball and karate), Sunday Afolabi (he died in prison when Obasanjo locked him up for embezzling National identity Card's money), Jesus-on-Earth - imPatient Jonathan - oh, sorry she woke up after about a week.

Agagu looted Ondo's state treasury while he was the state governor and even national treasury while he was federal minister, now he has transferred the loot to his children who probably were looting with him too. God has seen that we are too weak to fight for ourselves and he, GOD the almighty has started fighting for the poor masses. If you think that I should not speak bad of the dead, please tell me some good things I can say about Sanni Abacha or about Jonathan's jobless mother that "donated" buildings to the university or about Obasanjo that took bribe from Halliburton and converter Nigeria's treasury to his personal account or about James Ibori the Guinness Book prison record breaker (He, his wife, his mistress(another lp wife), his wife's sister and his lawyer all in jail) or Alao Akala or Gbenga Daniel or Rev. Fr. Moses Adasu who was a catholic priest, he became Benue state governor and rose to be richer than the state and thereafter borrowed his state some money because he loved his state or the immediate past Bayelsa state governor Timipre Sylva who bought/built 48 houses in Nigeria excluding the ones abroad in his 48 months rule as governor (another Guinness record) or the Jonathan Goodluck that uses one million naira to eat per meal but shut down all universities for several days now. What good can I say about these looters when they eventually kick the bucket or kick the drum.

Nice and tough ride with good fuel efficiency. I actually drive from Umuahia to Lagos with less than 60 litres of fuel. I used it for 5 years and just recently sold it off. Same as VW Bora/Jetta. I dont agree with the parts being expensive unless U've entered 'one chance' of those spare parts dealers. Its cheaper to maintain an Octavia than a Camry.
nice to hear this! This is good news, thanis.

HNosegbe: This bridge was obviously built for the high-class neighbourhoods of Lekki Phase I and environs... People who can AFFORD to pay the toll.

I would have had issues if the bridge was built (and tolled) at Ayobo, Iyana-Ipaja, Agege, Ajegunle or Ikorodu.

It's a win-win as far as I see. The Lekki folks get the satisfaction of bypassing Ozumba traffic (leaving it less congested for others) and the government makes more money which can be used for other purposes.

Can't complain.
leave them to say whatever! nothing good comes cheap and easy. Just know all ye out there that as long as we keep clamouring for free things we will always get sub standard goods and services. Free education, free water, free power, free health services and all that! Haba!

Why did him and his cohorts simply just walked out when they felt it will be an injustice if Ameachi was allowed to run? Besides, if their candidate had won, would this be an issue?
O yes, u guys had a consensus candidate in Jang however on getting to the election venues, the governors felt that Amaechi was a better and eefective candidate that the miserable Jang and they had no choice but to vote him.
I wonder why this is so difficult to grasp.
if He voted he should keep quiet! Where is his justification? maybe he is the culprit.
