Food / Can You Feed 1 Million People In A Week? by Dandsome: 1:22pm On Jun 14, 2020
Imagine a food relief platform with a target of providing over 1 million meals for for the underserved and less privileged in our community, amazing right? Yeah, that's what Givefood.ng is all about.

Givefood.ng is a coalition of partners that created a platform where meals are provided to reach the most vulnerable who are in need during these times of difficulty, banks like FCMB have provided support to them through coordination by Babban Gona Farmer Services Nigeria.

This platform will go a long way to sustain a large section of the population whose means of livelihood have been affected by COVID - 19 and the prevalent lockdown in many places and since it's open to the general public to donate I think the 1 million mark is very much available. Or what do you think?

Business / Re: How A Top Organization Is Assisting With The Fight Against Coronavirus by Dandsome: 5:29pm On Jun 10, 2020
Melaninprincess:
As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the global business economy and lifestyle at large, various organizations have taken it upon themselves to alleviate the effect of this crisis on the people.

In Nigeria, top organizations like banks, FMCG and telecommunications firms and a lot of private companies has continued to help the less fortunate in the society and give back to the community where they operate.

Foremost is First City Monument Bank (FCMB). The popular bank has shown commitment to doing all they can to support customers and the population as a whole through this challenging times.

As part of the Central Bank's intervention initiative with partnership with the private sector to assist the Federal Government known as CACOVID, FCMB contributed a whopping 250 million naira to help support households and businesses to reduce the impact of Coronavirus by providing personal protective equipment (PPE), building of treatment and isolation centres and distribution of food items to as much as 10 million economically vulnerable Nigerians.

Also, FCMB in partnership with the Ogun State ministry of Health is sponsoring the testing of 3000 people in Ogun State to determine their COVID-19 status. This is done to support the state government's efforts to confirm and curtail the spread of the pandemic.

They have also provided palliatives to households across the country to people whose livelihoods have been impacted by the virus.

As a bank, they're urging customers and the populace at large to continue to stay safe and continue to practice social distancing.

this is a great initiative, but with all these assistance why are people still complaining that they haven't received any palliatives

Real talk
festacman:
FFK may be a loudmouthed GADFLY but if and if records clearly and truly show that late Madam Efunporoye Tinubu was a FACILITATOR in slave trade system that kidnapped Africans from their villages and sold them into slavery in foreign lands, then her statue should be pulled down immediately.

It means Madam Efunporoye Tinubu was part of system that took late George Floyd's foreparents to US in the first place thereby making his murder possible.

It means that Madam Efunporoye Tinubu is no different from that murderous white Minneapolis policeman that killed George.

It means at times like this, Madam Efunporoye Tinubu should in the trial dock of the court of time.
