Tragedy hit a wedding event as not less than seventeen guests have been killed by lightning while fourteen others were injured. According to the BBC, the sad incident occurred in Bangladesh but the bride was safe because she was not with the wedding party at the time of the lightning. The news outlet reported that the party was disembarking from a boat at the riverside town of Shibganj, heading towards the bride’s house, when they were caught in a thunderstorm. Several bolts of lightning hit the group, turning the joyful event into a tragicomic one. Lightning-related killings across South Asia is a regular occurrence as hundreds of people lose their lives to the natural disaster every year. The situation forced Bangladesh to declare lightning strikes a natural disaster in 2016 following the death of more than 200 people in May alone of that year, including 82 people on a single day, the BBC reports. According to experts, the disappearance of many tall trees as a result of deforestation could be blamed for the regular lightning incidents in South Asia. Tall trees are said to serve as shelter for humans living in lightning-prone areas as they draw lightning strikes. What a sad story.! |
In the most basic terms, sexual confidence involves how you feel about yourself during sex, or how you view yourself in relation to sexual activities. This is a relatable topic as a lot of people, especially babes, are insecure and uptight when it comes to sex. This is actually quite understandable because babes often get labelled hoes when they try to explore their sexuality even half as much as guys are [seemingly] permitted to. This obviously shows in the sexual behaviour of Nigerian women who are well-documented as being too shy to ask for sex even when they’re dying for it. At some point, however, you’ll have to snap out of that reactive stance to sex, especially in a sexual relationship. You can't allow your partner make the first move every single time. That's simply not a good attitude to have to a relationship or marriage. It all begins with sexual confidence which you can boost in the following ways: 1. Body worries. Stop body shaming yourself and become comfortable in your own skin. If you must grow your sexual confidence, you will need to stop worrying that maybe your boobs are too small or too big or other similar worries women have. If he’s with you, he likes you and wants your body just as it is. 2. Take care of that body. Topnotch grooming improves your confidence, too. Whatever your body looks like, if you look after it properly, ladies, you will love it and it’ll be the object of your partner’s desire. 3. Be intentional about it. If all you used to do for initiating sex was to drop hints, you will need to intentionally grow a voice and learn to ask expressly once in a while. It adds variation and an extra dimension to you and your partner’s sex lives. 4. Communication It remains key that you get comfortable talking about sex with your partner. I mean, he’s the one you’re doing it with, right? Make yourself comfortable enough to ask him what he likes to be done to him, and how he likes it done. Getting these tips help you blow his mind every time, and when you regularly take him to places he’s never been before, it’ll certainly boost your sexual confidence. 5. Read, watch clips There are tons of guideline books on sex. There seems to be even more clips online if you know where to look. Not porn though. Educate yourself and be open-minded enough to try out some [or maybe all] the interesting, fascinating things you’ll surely find. |

Mrs Roseline Oladimeji, a Chief Nursing Sister, in Lagos on Thursday advised pregnant women to allow their husbands to suck their boobs to prepare them for breastfeeding after delivery. Oladimeji gave the advice at a sensitisation programme marking 2021 World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) organised by Amuwo Odofin Maternal and Child Centre (AOMCC), Festac Town. “Allow your husbands to suck your breasts during pregnancy. Apart from bonding, it will help the nipples to be out and make it easier for your baby to latch on. “You can also rub vaseline on your nipples at night before going to sleep. It also helps to soften it,” the apex nursing sister said. She urged pregnant women to prepare their breasts during pregnancy to avoid lactation problems after delivery. She added that the colostrum – the yellowish milk that flows within the first five days of delivery – contains nutrients that helps boost the baby’s immunity. "It is still breast milk,” she said. Oladimeji cautioned that certain food, herbs and medications could hurt babies if they cross into the breast milk. She particularly noted that drinking palmwine to improve lactation could introduce alcohol into the baby’s system during breastfeeding. Oladimeji further cautioned mothers seeking advice from people who were not qualified to take care of babies to avoid causing harm to their children. Also, the hospital’s Dietician, Ms Gbemisola Ogundipe, advised lactating mothers to ensure they take well-balanced meals and lots of water to increase the volume and quality of their breast milk. “A breastfeeding mother should have meat, fish, eggs and vegetables in her meals. She should also take a glass of juice or smoothies. “She should increase her fluid intake and this can come in form of water, milk, yoghurt, ice cream and pap,” she said. Ogundipe also cautioned women against weaning their babies before they get to one year because of the misconception that breast milk changed to blood when a child turns one year. She said exclusive breastfeeding was not only beneficial to the babies but also to the mothers and their families as it helps to take the mother to her pre-pregnancy weight and lessen financial pressure for families. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the 2021 WBW was, ‘Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility’. NAN reports that the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF said that though there had been progress in breastfeeding rates in the last four decades, the rates in Nigeria reduced with age. In a joint statement issued by the Director-General of WHO, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus and the Executive Director of UNICEF, Henrietta Fore, they stated that rate of exclusive breastfeeding rose from 17 per cent in 2013 to 29 per cent in 2018. They, however. said that the percentage of children breastfed within one hour of birth in Nigeria estimated at 42 per cent was still less than 50 per cent. “Breastfeeding rates in Nigeria reduced with age – 83 per cent of the children are breastfed up to one year while 28 per cent are breastfeeding till two years. “It will show that the proportion of the children who are not breastfeeding increases with age,” it said. Nice one. You are very correct. Especially the 3rd points..... I still don't know why some people will carry forest in their public region as if they are rearing animals there. And to make matters worse they don't show concern. And this applies to both male and female folks. If you must keep hairs there, please maintain it for goodness sake. ✂️ |

Responsibility is not a duty, it is something more than it. Motherhood is a beautiful thing which is accompanied with lots of unexpected challenges. Expectant mothers need the care, love, and assistance of their parents throughout their nine months period. >>>Here are some things every husband can do to pamper his wife. 1. Grocery shopping every weekend. If you can afford it though. 2. If you don’t have a washing machine. Sitting or bending down for hours to wash is not ideal at her stage. Give her some time to rest and take care of laundry. 3. Massage her feet every evening. 4. Accompany to her antenatal appointments. 5. Pamper her every weekend by preparing her favorite meals or anything she craves for. 6. Find a hairdresser to fix her hair at home because going to the saloon is very stressful in her stage. 7. Pregnancy comes with mood swings. Have sex when she is in the mood and you must try positions that won’t put her off. |
