TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Danielochekwu88(m): 8:25pm On Sep 21, 2024
Hi everyone, I recently rescheduled a B1/B2 visa for October but I'm yet to receive a confirmation email or a notification asking me to confirm my availability for the interview. I also noticed there's no place to update my DS160 number on the Avits website like we used to do on USTraveldocs. Should I be worried? Or can I prepare to attend the interview on the new date?
EducationNigerian Government To Begin Teaching Of Science, Mathematics In Local Languages by Danielochekwu88(op): 8:58pm On Mar 11, 2018
Nigerian government to begin teaching of science, mathematics in local languages.

Is the learning challenge faced in the country a function of the language used or the approach, method, facility available to cater for the needs of the learners?

If they learn mathematics and sciences in their mother tongue while in primary and secondary school, will they write UTME in those languages?

If they get admitted into the University, will lecturers use the mother tongue to teach those courses? What then happens to Chibuzor who grew up in Enugu and got Admitted to University of Ibadan? How will he cope? I bet he'll experience an academic culture shock and maybe unable to handle it.

How does this learner who failed to learn science in English while in his 9-3 education stage compete with his peers from CIS, Greensprings etc when it's time to do the needful. Especially when the plan is to translate textbooks to the local languages alone.

While this may look like a well thought plan to increase the number of kids learning in schools, I feel strongly that it's only going to deepen the inequity in our education system.

PS: Policies drive change, a well thought policy solves a problem for the long term abeit springing up fresh problems. A policy with numerous holes at its inception needs revisiting.
EducationEvery Learner Has A Gift by Danielochekwu88(op): 1:04pm On Mar 11, 2018
Thought to be very quiet and not as intelligent as his mates.
Believed to be that kid who would just finish primary school and not further because of his background and current position in class.
I've personally struggled to get along with him due to how reserved he is and the language barrier.

But patience pays after all!

Meet the finest artist in my class. Respected by some of his classmates for his ability to recreate what he sees on paper. My boy is one for the future. I discovered this ability just last week and today nominated him to lead a team of pupils to enter an art fare. I look forward to cementing a bond with him whilst working with him. I want to push him till the only he sees, thinks, feels and knows is success. He wore a smile and like a fine perfume, all who crossed paths with him, had a feel of the aura.

Every child is gifted; the gift of some are found on the surface and the others buried deep in their innards. You have to dig it up no matter how long it will take you.

PS: Do not expect every child to excel in a specific area. The 21st century teacher must embrace the plethora of intelligence that abound in the classroom and find a way to course each of these intelligence to greatness. The vision should be to inspire and not to discourage sparks of excellence.
