My brother, the honest truth is that they might not call reserve o. Looking at the letter, they said after 30th of May, no calling of reserve anymore..the best thing is to remove mind, before you can be called is if they send any cadet home i.e death, fake certificate, bad behavior or disobedience etc.
beta247:
Any hope for reserve?

1) Actually, just be calm, don't seat until they tell you. Actually you would be told on how to act before entering so no need to be scared and be audible when greeting. You have to shout, Morning sir!!!!! And they will tell you to seat but make sure it must come from the board director oo.
2) random question and also your field too
3) Well my own time, I kept quiet o cause we were told not to say "no idea" loool but once you unable to attempt it, they will move to the next question. If your head strong, na small question way simple dem go ask but if luck no dey, dem go drill you o lol. But know that na middle you go dey while you are surrounded like you facing panel.
One last thing just scale the medical and certificate then you can worry about this board cause it is the least of your worries lol but u gonna be fine
Mymumhope:
good evening sir, please can you kindly update us on the possible answers to the questions you stated below
1. how to cordinate yourself when you enter to face the board. (Are you to sit before you are asked to)
2. which kind questions to expect from board based on your course of study.
3. what to say when you have no idea about the question asked.
so we can have an idea of what to respond and what not to

You are so correct with this but during my time, they announced medical and certificate at the same in the hall infact everyone took their loads to the hall so as they call u out, u are going outside while the rest of us went back to our tent and it was rainy that day so we did the 3.2km the next day, after the race, we did the push up and all so imagine been tired and you forced to do this. The test was taken that day and next day was board.. But I feel ibadan own might not take time since they have the necessary equipment especially with that medical own cause falgore was like a new site and they had to bring some medical equipments.
MrSuama:

Candidate, below is the standard sequence for some years,

Documentation
On arriving the venue of the interview, some Officers are stationed to do documentation for each state and you will be giving a tag number( a blue apron with your state code and number). For example, your name on the list might be 1st but you were the 15th to arrive interview venue and you are from Kaduna, after documentation, you would be given a tag number randomly, say KD56. It is with this KD56 that you would be referred to any time your attention is needed. Documentaion usually happens on the first and second day of screening.
Credentials Vetting
The screening and vetting of credentials begins on the second day for those who arrived early on the first day. This is where the Officer vetting your credentials would check age disparity on your certificates, forged documents, fake certificates and so on, this takes another 2days or so.
First Moment of Truth
After the completion of the credential screening, the Selection Board sits and candidates with discrepancies beyond army's reasoning are called out with their state codes, marched to the their tenth or hostel, where they pack their belongings, then they are escorted with tight security out of the screening venue like thieves who have come to still the mandates of their village men.
Medical Examination
If you successfully scale the credential screening, the next hurdle is the almighty medical examination. Here the army have the ability to see ailments that are hereditary in your family. They also have the ability to see ailments that no other hospitals can see. Infact, they have the ability to see your potential to develop some ailments. Candidate, army can say you are positive to an ailment and immidiately you are sent home, you decide to go to Natioanl Hospital Abuja to recheck yourself only to find out you are negative to that ailment.(Children of serving and retired Generals sometimes find themselves in this shoes)
Candidate only the will of God can make you scale Medical Examination. Below are some of the things you would be checked on
a. Bp
b. Eye sight (short and long sight)
c. Flat foot
d. Number of testicles( you would be unclad infront of the doctor female or male as the case may be and you would show her how many testicles you gat)
e. Pile: while unclad, the doctor would ask you to cough strongly like 2 to 3 times, then you would be asked to turn your back. After that the doctor would ask you to bend down to touch your toes, so that your anus can be examined for the presence of pile.
f. Urine: Urine samples are also collected to test for some ailments am not sure of.
g. Blood samples are also collected to test for HIV and a host of other ailments am not sure of
h. Height is also measured to ascertain you are within the range
i. Teeth check
j. Hernia check
k. Tatoo check
l. ECG
m. Chest X-ray
o. Fasting sugar (diabetes)
And a host of others i can seem to remember. The medicals lasts for like 5 to 6 days.
Second Moment of Truth
After the medicals have been concluded for all states, the Selection Board converges again and the candidates unfortunate to have been detected to have one ailment or the other are called out. Usually, the calling is alphabethically. so you here, candidates if you here your number fall out. The tension in the atmosphere at this period is unexplainable. Who no go, no go know.
The affected candidates are marched to their tenths to take their belongings and excorted to the gate of the venue under tight security.
3.2 Km race
After the medicals, candidates are made to run the 3.2 km race under 15 minutes. After the race, candidates are grouped in cages basesd on how they arrived. in time past, the race was also used to disqualify candidates but things have changed. It seems candidates are no more disqualified based on their inability to comlete the race within 15 minutes.
If the army decides to use the race as a disqualifying round, the ladies are allowed to start the race 3 minutes earlier than the males and when the 15minutes elapses, the gate of heaven is closed. Anybody outside the gate of heaven is marched to his hostel under tight security to pack his belongings, then excorted out of the training venue.

I think this is the farthest i have been lucky to reach in all the screenings i have attended.
I also skipped the Pschology test that comes during the medicals or after medicals where you would be asked questions that if you lie at the begining you must lie to the end.

Note: every screening comes with its own modifications. Other officers are free to make corrections and additions to this piece.
And I wish every applicant who made the list the very best.

You might not wait till that duration, infact once they announce medical and certificate stuff, they tend to be more fast and once your state face board, u are good to go home. Everyone can't go at the same time, during my time, I left on Thursday and the camp was meant to close on Saturday meanwhile some left on Wednesday etc
Eminant:
I’ve seen all that is listen, but my question is, how come is two weeks, before I do see 5days or a week, what are we gonna be doing for this two weeks, or some states will finish before others and can go home?

Why can't we all do the right thing, getting white canvas and blue short won't do you anything. When facing the board, u have to look smart infact rsm will tell you.
BuddhaGautama:

My friend hold your peace, if the army wants to make it compulsory, they would have definitely stated it in the instructions to candidates.

Better go and get the white canvas, I have told you my own Sha.
TSoul:
But colour wasn't specified for the canvas....but the socks. I have 2 canvas and non is white, I don't think I have to get white canvas now since it's just for screening. It's in training white canvas is required I think.

This is just screening, phones are allowed but when you make the final list, phones are not allowed. It depends on when you stopped but know that when they ask you some questions like evaluation, be honest with them. Itt is good you are running check but note that it is the one they will run on you that they will use.
Goodluck
Mymumhope:

You don't need to run faster than your shadow, it is actually a plus if you have someone supporting you with little change because the money isn't that big big, you should understand because of uniform, boot, sword etc.. The best thing is to be receiving special money every month because it is never enough
Shinzokiyotake:
Thanks senior man for your input please I have a question regarding kits and uniforms can the monthly stipend given to trainees be enough to cover that or one has to have spear money to cover up Incase, I am not trying to be faster than my shadow but I had a friend who got Airforce Dssc so his elder bro was supporting him with cash according to him the monthly stipend wasn't enough to enable buy other things and sew uniform

The point is, it is you against your state people. You might have a godfather and still won't make the list. This is like survival of the fittest, we have both that entered merit and also the other part, it all depends on where you fall.
Charrliie:

So there's something I'm really curious about. I've seen a few posts on here emphasising that you must have a godfather to get shortlisted.
I'd really like to know if they don't shortlist based on merit anymore? Does this imply that people who are qualified 101% do not stand a chance if they don't have a godfather? Does this mean that no single person in the last 5-10 years has gotten successful with the army based purely on merit?
Please I'm genuinely curious and I'd like an answer🙏
