Tragedy in Odoh-Owambe II Community in Beebo Clan, Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State as Father Shoots Dead his 25 years old son on Friday.

The Father Popular known as ‘The Tallest’ a village Hunter sent his son to his untimely grave following a quarrel on the morning of Friday, August 7th 2020.

RapidGist gathered that the son ‘Agbor Henry’ is the youth president of the community and his son from his late girlfriend, a police woman who died in a road accident in Calabar some years back. After his mother's Death, he returned to the village to his father whom he always claim never meets up with his responsibilities.

According to an eye witness; the misunderstanding began when the Father had met his son drinking in a bear parlour and requested that his son ‘Agbor Henry’ buy him some drink, it was then his son asked him that ‘is it now you remember I'm your son? This resulted to a serious quarrel than made him wanted to fight his father.

Our correspondent gathered that his son ‘Agbor Henry’ was later held by the Community youths and tied up demanding a fine for trying to fight his father. It was also said that the father went to plead with the Community youths to let him go of which they did thinking everything is settled.


The height of the drama was when they got home and the quarrel continued on another level with no serious person around to calm them down. It was at the point his son first reach out to get a gun against his father, which made his father also reached out for his.

His son who first carried a gun approach his father's room to attack him but got caught by his father's gun bullet from just after the door. His father, after seeing that he has killed his son, ran to the Community Forest where he was caught up by the Community youths and later handed over to the police.


It was however a double Tragedy for the Family as his last son who was said to have been shot by armed robbers was brought to the village that same day to be Buried.

He is currently at the Police Station in Bateriko, Boki Local Government Area, Cross River State.

Radio Biafra has allegedly commenced it transmission and broadcast in Calabar and Ikom, Cross River State capital and commercial cities.

RapidGist learnt from a letter written by Loveson Agweye to Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB that the people of Ikom in particular have started receiving signals and transmission from the Radio which frequency is yet-to-be ascertained.

NMA Cross River Withdraws Services Across The State, Declares Health Commissioner Persona Non Granta


The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Cross River State chapter has withdrawn it’s services across the State.

According to the developing report, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu has also been declared persona non grata by the union.

According to inside source the withdrawal of services and declaring the State Health Commissioner persona non granta is as a result of her Ministry’s COVID-19 response.

The NMA in the State is preparing to come public with it’s position.

What a black Tuesday as a woman losses all Eight Children in building collapse in Lagos.

Our reporter observe that all eight children came from one family.

The mother of the eight children told our reporter that she had been noticing some shaking and cracking sound during the day and she and her husband had reported their observation to the landlord about 3months ago.

The landlord told them that work on the property will commence immediately after the ban on interstate is lifted.

A politician in Benue state has donated ropes to the members of his community so that they can tie their goats.



Daniel Ukpera, who contested for the Guma State Constituency seat in the 2019 Benue State House of Assembly Election under the platform of Labour Party, donated bundles of ropes to the people of Makurdi LGA in Benue State.



After making the donation, he assisted the goat owners to tie their goats then posed for photos with the grateful recipients.

Three persons who were set ablaze have died as a result of their wounds. They are Benard Kekong, Rita Abang, and Margaret Akan. Other victims are at various hospitals battling for their lives. Some of the victims who could not afford the cost of medical treatment are at home.

The buttocks of one of the victims, Serah Kepua Odu was completely burnt. She cannot sit down. Another victim, Sussana Bisong, sustained serious injuries. She was unable to go to the hospital because she could not afford the hospital bills.

An eyewitness told AFAW that on that fateful day, Thomas Obi Tawo arrived the community with his boys. First, he attacked his mother, Rose Obi, and then Chief Benard Kekong. General Iron called out names of other suspected witches. His boys dragged them out of their apartments, manhandled them, and threw them into the fire. People could not cry out or raise an alarm. Nobody tried to stop or resist them because they feared that they could also be beaten and thrown into the fire.

Last month (May), fifteen (15) persons, including three (3) Chiefs were set ablaze in Oku, Boki Local Government of Cross River State, for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

Demanding for justice for the gruesome act, a protest has been staged in Calabar, the state capital to get authorities to take action against those who attacked and burnt the alleged witches.

The protesters were carrying placards with the inscription: Justice for Oku-Boki Burnt Women. Last month, an aide to the state governor led local thugs to attack and set ablaze suspected witches in Oku Community. The police have yet to arrest Thomas Obi Tawo (aka General Iron) and other alleged perpetrators of this horrific crime. Victims have yet to receive any support or assistance from the state government.

Meanwhile, the Advocacy for Alleged Witches (AfAW) has received a list of victims of the witch-hunt. Here are their names:

A lady has been gang-raped by no fewer than six men.

RapidGist has decided the heart-wrenching video is better not published but a screengrab below shows some of the scenes where the lady was brutally molested even in the presence of a less than 10-year-old boy who was surprisingly laughing.

We are yet to establish the location of the incident but the perpetrators can be heard in the one minute 49 seconds video speaking an indigenous Nigerian language.

It appears the lady was in the stream to fetch some water and ended up being overpowered by the men; one of them while in the act appeared to go ‘skin’ even as others forcefully spread the legs of the exhausted victim.

At least six men sexually assaulted the lady.
We don’t know if the video is a recent incident but that might not be too relevant for many.

Authorities have been notified.
