THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, MOTHER OF GOD, is a Special Figure in the Spiritual Lives of (real) Catholics. I know it will be hard for some to believe that the CATHOLIC CHURCH is indeed the "Author" of Todays Bible. While the bible was still being compiled, the church (CATHOLIC) was already alive and spreading - already more than 2000 years old. Better to also let you know that much of the Church practices, are, as passed down to us by the (original) Apostles (Holy Traditions) including Easter and later Christmas. Don't also forget that all those whose writings make up the New Testament and some Old Testament books, never intended them to be so - the CATHOLIC CHURCH chose them (Books,Epistles and Gospels) and got them canonized. If anybody tells you he knows "Things Fall Apart" better than Chinua Achebe, I wonder what your reaction will be. We in the Catholic Church venerate THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY. We also venerate all other SAINTS recognized by the CATHOLIC CHURCH. Adoration, is strictly for the ALMIGHTY GOD - THE TRINITY (FATHER, SON & HOLY GHOST) and HE alone we Adore. The Holy Bible may appear simple to read, but without proper guidance, some people end up in confusion.
