guzenaira: Sir/Ma,
Sincerely I understand what you are saying but I don't understand the kind of suggestions you want. Pls as for me, I don't get it properly. 'Maybe' another moniker could possibly understand properly.
But with the kind of view I see it which somehow looks incomplete to me, I think you applied to two schools. Why not try elsewhere for admission.
My thoughts!! Thanks for the head-up. I am checking out other schools. Hoping the PSs respond to my mails. |

jnyuwa02: Your questions are kind of vague. The supervisors might be trying to tell you that if you have not obtained a masters degree from North America, you cannot be admitted to do PHD. That you have to do a masters first with them before proceeding to a PHD. Personally I never heard of that. Could be course specific. I know of some schools wanting students who studied outside North America to take extra tests. But not totally barricaded from applying like these supervisors would seem to be telling you. Thanks for your response boss. I am not sure if they actually barricaded it... They were probably telling me what to expect. But then, I am looking at other schools, which is why I haven't started my application. |

Hi everyone,
I have been a silent reader for a while, it's time to crawl out.
I plan on applying for PhD programs in Canada. I have been writing to potential supervisors, and so far I have gotten response from two, (UofS and McMaster). The only setback is that both of them in one way mentioned that 'Applicants who do not hold masters degree from North America's university are typically admitted to a masters program'. Actually that's not a problem for me, but I already hold a Master degree, and currently completing a research masters, another masters degree. Both in Mathematics (Mathematical Sciences and Applied Mathematics).
Please, I need suggestions from all the bosses in the house.

samuelUMOH: Inform your bank of the challenges you are facing or discuss with your friend who assisted you with the admission process in SA .Perhaps you can send money to his Nigerian acc for him to pay for you. The rate these days are scaring and alarming that why people are extremely careful when paying for someone in Nigeria ,otherwise they do so at their own peril . Thanks |
