First, I cant see any element of rudeness in his response and its obvious you don't know the meaning of spamming. Secondly, that is the mod of this thread, his responsibility is to coordinate and make susre no rule is being broken, so he is not out of place to respond to you.

Point taken !!

After two denials, finally got approved by Window 21 today. Thanks to everyone who took out time to respond to my enquiries. This is one of the finest communities on the internet.

My advice to anyone who has been denied in the past:

1. Never give up. Just think of each obstacle as a temporary setback.
2. My average GPA and extra year didn't stop me from getting a partial scholarship - took GRE and TOEFL though.
3. Pay close attention to your financial documentation
4. Don't try to be 'too' perfect. "Too many lies spoils the soup". Not having to lie would probably give you peace of mind to sound confident.
5. F1 interview is just a conversation really. Don't cram stuff. No VO wants to interview a 'robot'.
6. I think there are no rules to this thing, work hard towards what you want and just leave luck to heaven.
Congrats, Please do I need to pay another sevis fee if my visa was denied and I want to reapply ?

Sorry to be harsh but it all this that makes it difficult for others... if she knew she was pregnant why did she lie during the visa time . Almost everybody know the embassy keeps record so the next visit your history can be flagged up . It a technology age so there is no point lying at any time.

To be honest nobody has the answer to bold above.... the mistake has been made and it really up to the VO at the time of interview . The best he can do is show all the evidence that the hospital was paid and hope for the best

Please do I need to pay another sevis fee if my visa was denied and I want to reapply ?

While I'm not a lawyer or expert in cases like this, I just wanna give you my 2 cents. This may be a very unpopular opinion but hey, it's just an advise, so feel free to ignore it.

The law is not a black or white thing. This is why for cases you're not sure of, the advise is primarily to consult a lawyer. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get through situations that look super complex to the ordinary eye.

That being said, IMO, there is absolutely NO beyond-reasonable-doubt proof that your sister or her husband lied to the VO during their first visa interview. It's not like they have proof of a conversation they had to support a preconceived plan to do the above. People change their minds all the time. People come here just to visit for a week, meet a girl with asss so fat, decide they're not going home again, marry the girl and apply for GC, say their plans changed after they got here. Oga mi Sir, they get their GC.

In your case, maybe your sister and her husband honestly had no intention of having their baby here or visit the doctor. Suppose I were in her shoes, and I woke up one day with blood coming out of me, you think I will risk my life and die because I told one VO that I won't be seeing Doctor? No sir, I will call 911 if needed and get the best treatment and that's not a crime.

This case is not as impossible as it looks, and also you didn't tell the whole story. If they paid all bills out of pocket or whatever the case is, tell them to take all relevant documents along on their next visit to the embassy. He also has to state clearly that "No Sir, we didn't misinform the previous VO. Things happened that way because..."

If the matter pass you, your sister abi her husband, consult immigration lawyer. Better one o, not 200 Naira lawyers under bridge in Ikeja. But if I were you, I'd handle this myself sha. It's not a big deal.

Disclaimer: This is not legal advice. Please consult a lawyer for legal matters.

I'm not sure you read his post before replying because you seems to be playing along with some sort of theory as if you are creating your own narrative.

One of the VOs here has written at length about this type of situation I even copied and attached it to this thread https://www.nairaland.com/4250945/give-birth-usa-cost-procedures.

This is a very common situation with many Nigerians traveling to US for child birth.

Post your transcript for review please
@ubah1

My transcript went as follows

ME: Morning
VO ; Morning , pass me your i20 and passport

vo; where are u going to ?
me ; i am going to tsu to study for my masters degree in comp science with my area of concentration in data science .
VO; Why TSU ?
Me: I chose Tsu because it has a course outline that goes inline with my career goals and also because they give a lot of opportunities to students who are seeking for research grants and internship placement because of the close relationship that they have with a lot of industries in the usa , so i will not only be learning in the class room but i will also be learning in the field .

VO; what will this course do for u ?
ME: moving forward this program will have a tremendous effort on my career . i have worked with the NCC for the past 5 years starting from the grass root where i have gained a lot of field experience and training . I am gunning for an elevated position in my organization and one of the prerequisites needed is for me to have masters degree . Also the knowledge i gained in this course will help me to uncover fraud and anomalies in the telecommunication sector (all this while she has been nodding and typing )
V0; have u traveled before ?

me; no i have not had a reason to travel other than in october 2016 when i applied for a bi/b2 visa and i was denied ( she cuts in yes i can see it from here )

VO ; u applied in abuja before and lagos now , why ?
ME; I was working in our office branch in abuja as of 2016 and i got posted to our lagos branch last year so i had to apply here in lagos
vo; did u write any exam ?

ME; Yes i wrote GRE
VO :Scores ?

ME ; I Had 148 in verbal and 145 in quantitative reasoning .
VO; did u apply to other schools and how many ?

Me; yes i applied to other schools and they are ..........

most time i was talking she was typing and nodding through out the session ,

I may have qualified for it based on NM state law on poverty level but such I believe doesn't reach the embassy here in Nigeria. Don't forget that we showed large sum of money when applying for the visa and so we should be able to take care for our staying in US by ourselves. This is why I didn't submit those forms. Also, I only went to the hospital for a reduction in my monthly payment not for any public assistance. Any government assisted program that helps you to pay a bill or give you aids etc is regarded as public assistant. Everything done in US goes into one's record, so I can't say things like can't be pulled up if needed by the appropriate body. Lastly, medical bill is not part of hipaa and hipaa rules can be rendered insignificant by government.
@imperiouxx

Please I need your candid advice but I would like if it’s ok with u if we communicate on WhatsApp. I’m a silent followe of this thread . Thanks as I await your reply in earnest
