The areas you just mentioned may be quit expensive, why not try Omagwa, Elele, Etche, Norwa etc and you need a place were no house is within and possibly no house will be built within the next 3-4 years to avoid somebody( your Neighbour ) taking you to the State Ministry of Environment for you to relocate your farm, just my little advice.

You can get improved variety of cassava stem from IITA Onne office or Fed. University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State. they are in partnership with IItA.

Bro, if you ask me, i think outright purchase is the best, even if it is only one plot, because humans are not predictable. After you have spent your money developing the place, the guy can come for his plot despite your agreement with him, he may have a better offer. Just my Opinion.

There is train station in Port Harcourt, it is located in the Town axis of the city, am sure of P.H to Enugu route, not sure of PH to Lagos.

It depends on the Community you are leasing from, how accessible is the place in terms of road network and how far is it from P.H. though my is outright purchase. So I don't really have an idea of the possible amount for lease.

Ok. Farming in Etche is cool, soil ok, you can also add fertiliser if you want. In terms of security, pocket of violence here and there but the security agencies are working very hard to contain the situation, Etche people are predominantly farmers so the acceptability is high and cost of labour is low when compared with other areas in Rivers State here.

It will be nice if we farmers based in Rivers State meet here in order to shear ideas / Information's, support each other for the general progress of our farms, Rivers State and Nigeria.
