Romance / Re: Coming To Nigeria Eddie Murphy Inspired by DaPhoenix(f): 3:51pm On Mar 26, 2009
I love how lame ass guys always complain about the women in their area; those in Nigeria say the girls in Nigeria are fake and those in other countries complain that the Nigerian girls there are fake. Also, it's funny once a girl turns down a date she's automatically branded as fake.

Feminine? u wish. . .  Nothing, absolutely nothing about me is feminine. . .  Physically, i'm massive, strong manly look and deep voice too. I have never cried from physical or emotional pain except as a baby. . .  I dont cross dress, braid, do tattoos, or wear make-up, I like extreme stuff, live on the knife edge and never feel fear for the unknown.
I dont even think or behave like the feminine folk. . .  If i was to be reborn 100 times, i'll still come out in a man's form! grin

Come on. . . I won't tell.

StephenP:

It takes me a while to get ready for a party/ an event.

Getting my clothes and shoes together and matching - 10 mins

Brush teeth - 3 to 5 mins

Shower - 15 to 20 mins

Looking for the music I want to listen to while I get ready - 2 mins

Putting on lotion and cologne - 10 to 15 mins

Put clothes on and making sure it looks right - 5 to 6 mins

Oiling and brushing hair - 3 mins

Checking self before I leave - 2 mins

All that is about an hour.

lmao but thanks for posting though.

I know there are some guys here who love to check themselves out on any reflective surface.

Politics / Re: Condoms Increases Risk Of Aids: Says "pope". by DaPhoenix(f): 9:41pm On Mar 23, 2009
Kobojunkie:

If it were really the case that people actually listened to him as much as you claimed, then do we have much to worry about since he is basically telling them abstinence is still the best option. Condoms are not 100% but an abstinent person has zero chances of contracting a SEXUALLY transmitted disease. What in the world is hard to understand in that.  I don’t know why anyone would worry if another chooses abstinence as way to prevent AIDS and all? Why would someone who is ABSTINENT have to worry about DEATH? Why?

He's been giving that abstinence message for a while now and some of them have adopted it and have purity rings and what not but many due to their high sex drive find that hard to follow. Plus, we are talking about a place where one of the tests of manhood is how many women you can have, so abstinence is not really an option and the HIV rate is at an all time high. Now, if a relatively new method let's call it, safer sex practices, comes up and it seems to be working and it is seen that the rate is decreasing, why shoot it down? I wouldn't have complained if he didn't say that condoms made it worse.

Kobojunkie:

Material without logic? What the heck does that even mean? He is simply saying abstinence is still the best option and you are saying there is no logic behind that? Are you for real? You mean it is IMPOSSIBLE for a person who chooses not to have sex to not die of AIDS?

You don't go to a continent swamped with HIV meaning they have a huge sex life and tell them "Oh you have to stop having sex" like it's that easy. Like I said before I would have preferred if he said nothing about the condoms and just went on preaching about abstinence.
Politics / Re: Condoms Increases Risk Of Aids: Says "pope". by DaPhoenix(f): 9:11pm On Mar 23, 2009
Jjavascript:void(0);ustGood:

I'm not a fan of the pope but he did not say anywhere there that condoms increase HIV risk.

The pontiff said condoms were not the answer to the continent's fight against HIV and Aids and could make the problem worse.

@topic, I'm not against preaching abstinence, but his power, especially in Africa, where millions of people are Catholic and hold the Pope's words as complete truth hold the potential for unforeseeable amounts of death. (Being dramatic, but honestly though). Condoms, as we all already know combined with other preventative measures are our only hopes for stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS right now in Africa. And until there is a cure, we can't be ignorant about the power of a rubber. It's not fair that our country should be treated as ignorant, he's feeding material (religion) without logic and it's a deadly combination. (No puns intended wink ).

Politics / You Know Things Are Bad When. . . by DaPhoenix(f): 2:47pm On Mar 23, 2009
You can't buy bread with your own currency.

Even bread can no longer be bought with Zimbabwe dollars

Esther (not her real name), 29, is a professional living and working in Zimbabwe's capital, Harare.

She says bread is cheaper now under the power sharing government - but only for those with US dollars.

Life in Harare is great - a lot better than in the past - for me at least.

If I want to buy sugar, soap or bread, I no longer have to travel to South Africa.

I can go to the local supermarket.

The trip to to South Africa was 20 hours by bus - and another 20 hours back.

I am able to start saving money. That was not possible a few months ago

That 40-hour trip was killing me.

Now for day-to-day products we can go to the supermarket - the prices have come down.

At first, the bread was three, four times more expensive than in South Africa.

Now it is better - anything from 80 US cents to $1. That's 8-10 rand - not much more than in South Africa.

Craving

I can even choose between white bread, brown, wholemeal, French loaf.

For breakfast this morning I had cereal and fresh milk - which was unheard of in these parts last year.

However, some goods are still more expensive because they are classed as luxuries.

Cheese for example is US$6 for 200g. I buy it only when I have a serious craving.

It's true that for many here there has been an improvement in day-to-day life.

For the first time I can look forward. I am able to start saving money. That was not possible for me a few months ago.

I am aiming to buy a set of couches. The price here is US$1,000. I have nothing particular in mind - I am just looking forward to sitting down.

After all that we have been through, yes, I will definitely be making some time to sit down.

Sweet nothing

The problem is that for other people - they are starting to struggle more and more.

The Zimbabwe dollar is growing more and more useless every day. Basically you can buy nothing.

You get paid a trillion dollars and you can't buy anything with it.

Nobody wants Zim dollars. Nobody. Not even the people selling sweets by the road.

If you don't get your salary paid in foreign currency you are in serious trouble.

Now everything - water, electricity - have to be paid for in US dollars.

Some people are sinking into serious poverty. Life is unbearable for people without US dollars.

I've got relatives - cousins of 15 years old - who have nothing.

If they sell bread rolls they might make $5 a day. That is not enough for school fees.

The teachers are back at school now, but I am not sure for how long.

The pay - $100 - does not go a long way, so they may be back on strike soon.

I'm not sure if the schools will be practically closed again, or if the unity government will some find some money from donors.

How long can you go on with someone else supporting your wage bill?

The unity government will need to find some way of generating funds for Zimbabwe or this will be a recurring problem.

No accident

Of course, everyone here is still talking about "the accident".

I mean the car crash which killed Susan Tsvangirai, the wife of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

Nobody here is convinced by the official story.

I read somewhere: "The only thing that was an accident is that Susan died and not Morgan."

That is pretty much the view around here.

cry smh This is so depressing.
