Education / Re: Reps Summon JAMB Registrar Over Mass Failure by daporski: 5:46am On May 10, 2013
Anyone interacting with the average JAMB candidate will wonder how they hope to pass Use of English! As a matter of fact, reading the posts made on Nairaland by Jambites on exam day, I felt sad about the level of education in Nigeria. I just knew that if the standard of questions that we answered when writing Jamb years ago remain the same then there is no hope for a vast majoirity of students writing the exams even if they are allowed to use slate and chalk talk less of computers!

I beg make una free the JAMB Registrar joor!

Sports / Which Is The Greatest Rivalry In Club Football? by daporski: 12:41pm On May 05, 2013
Hi football loving NairaLanders! There is this debate going on about which is the?p greatest, most intense and intruiging rivalry in club football.
Is it:
1. Barcelona v. Real?
2. Fernebache vM Galatasaray?
3. Celtic v. Rangers?
4. Liverpool v. Everton?
5. Kaizer Chiefs v. Orlando Pirates
6. Eyimba v. Enugu Ranger?
7. Ahly v. Zamalek?

For me I think the passion of the fans in any match between Celtic and Rangers in the Scottish league is very strong and personal because of their ideological and political differences (I.e. Complete independence from Great Britian or not and the divide between Catholics and protestants).
What football rivalry is the most intense for you?

Religion / Men Of God (mog) With Blood On Their Hands! by daporski: 8:30am On Nov 18, 2012
I have often wondered why our religious leaders never preach to the conscience of their followers about donating ill gotten wealth in the house of God.
You see instances where a civil servant contributes as much as N10m for a project in a church/mosque and the MOG acts oblivious of the fact that that chap couldn't have gotten his money legitimately, at least not if he is depending on his salary.
Take the case of the former MD of Bank PHB donating hundreds of millions to churches! Not the multiplier effect of his actions include:
1. The bank went into distress
2. Hard working people lost their jobs
3. The dependants of former employees of former Bank PHB lost their source of sustenance. I can go on and on.

When civil servants divert funds meant for supply drugs to hospitals or construction of roads and donate a portion of those stolen funds to deliberately blind men of God and people die of road accidents and illnesses that could have been prevented if those funds were not diverted, I believe they have blood on their hands and by extention the MOG who fail to insist that their congregation shoud only donate legit funds.

What is your take?
Travel / Which Nigerian Airline Has The Best Cabin Crew? by daporski: 6:10pm On Jun 22, 2012
I took arik air from Sokoto to Abuja today and then boarded Chachangi to Lagos. Now, while the services, looks and courtesy of the arik crew were not exceptional, I did not have cause to complain. But when I boarded chachangi I noticed that 1.

Their uniforms were white but not well kept. I mean, why choose white as your color if u can't keep it sparkling?

2. Two out of the three crew are men and definitely not Mr. Handsome material and the lady too no try at all.

3. While serving drinks one of the guys spilt some drinks and he swore in hausa before remembering to apologise to the passenger whose clothes got stained

4. The chap sitting next too me asked the lady cry member for water and she told him to press the button overhead and water will be brought to him.

Needless to say he didn't get any! Well thank God the flight was safe.

Passengers in the ill fated Dana plane that crashed (may their souls RIP) will wish they were alive to complain like me!

What has your experience been like with cabin crews? Do tell.
