When you hear that Customs made a record 28 Billion in just one day, don't look at it as government magic. That money came directly out of the pockets of importers, exporters, and everyday consumers.

High Customs revenue simply means it is now incredibly expensive to clear goods at the port. Importers pass that heavy cost down to the market, which is why a bag of rice, spare parts and electronics keep double-pricing.
The sad part? We are paying through our noses for these records, yet our roads, electricity, schools and hospitals have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Israeli soldiers marked Palestinian detainees with numbers on their foreheads and arms during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Monday.

During the raid on Qabatiya, near Jenin, Israeli forces rounded up dozens of Palestinian residents, several of whom were marked with numbers on their foreheads and arms.

Ahmad al-Hathnawi, who was marked with the number 44 on his forehead, said at least 50 people were detained, including women.

“This is the first time they’ve put these numbers on me,” Hathnawi, who has been arrested four times previously, told local media.

He said soldiers took him and others away for interrogation during the raid.

Israeli Defence Forces acknowledges marking Palestinian detainees with numbers, says: ‘Lessons have been learned’

The IDF responds to footage published yesterday showing a Palestinian man with a number marked on his forehead.

“Yesterday, during a brigade-level operation in the village of Qabatiya in the Menashe region, security forces marked suspects who were questioned as part of the operation. Commanders made clear to the troops the seriousness of the act, and lessons have been learned,” it says.

The IDF’s comment was similar to one it made in April after numbers were seen marked on the hands of Palestinians as they entered a military-controlled refugee camp.

In April, footage emerged showing Palestinian women with numbers marked on their hands as they entered the IDF-controlled Jenin refugee camp to collect belongings.

At the time, the IDF said the markings were made at the Palestinians’ initiative, but nevertheless described the practice as “an error in judgment,” adding that “procedures were clarified and lessons were learned.”

The economic and human toll of this war will take Russia many decades to recover and might bankrupt the country.
