Evening my people! Pls my sincere apologies for not responding to mails and comments a this while! The very day I replied the lady who wanted a social event to attend to, my DATA BUNDLE expired! So I could use only a small nokia phone difficult to type with. I saw the mentions and comments. So pls do not take it to be that I was rude or something! Just came back online with my smartphone. No thanks to recession! As regards the NGO I suggested to her,it's a start-up NGO! With an online office for now but converge physically when need be. Purely into humanitarian activities . We need people passionate about immediate development in their communities and are guided by SDG goals! No monetary gains instead WE SPEND from our pockets until we get full endorsements and partnerships! So if still interested just mail me again.will add you up to our whatspp group! Note since it's online I takes data! It's sacrifice for humanity. I'm a volunteer there. So I thought I should explain so you could make informed decisions!. God bless us all May we get surprise job packages before December in Jesus Name! Never give up,it's close. |

June why? Wandering through thoughts lane,i saw this trend and became curious as to why? I ignored it for a while. But it kept flashing like the thunder lights of the sky.Curiosity they say kills the cat.But how then, does one kills curiosity? It was in this deep thought,i decided to take this trip. Remember those days in college, when we wrote letters coined with months of the year telling each month how rough or good it was? And then finally thanking December and biding it farewell to that year! Nostalgic! Same here. Every month of the year has it's own characteristics. From dry weather, rainy weather, lack of finance, holiday months, burials.celebrities, feasts etc. This vary year to year. JUNE,named after a roman goddess juno, the goddess of marriage and the wife of the supreme diety Jupiter is the sixth month of the year in Julian and gregorian calendars and one of the four months with a length of 30days. One notable thing is that J-U-N-E spells marriage as it is believed that many marriages are contracted more in the month of June than any other month of the year hence the term JUNE BRIDES.chuckles here... Interestingly,i also found out that people born in June are humorous, sociable and analytical. Good trait if you ask me.Takes a deep breath. Howbeit,if I told you that June is a thief of great and famous personalities. I have nothing against her mind you. But isn't it mind boggling that in the recent times,Ms June is associated with the expression "one death....too many"? How true is this? Take a look at what I found out during my research. Debunk or confirm it. Below is a roll call of famous people in Nigeria who departed to the world beyond in june! Chief MKO Abiola: June 12 1993 (A president who was denied victory and was loved by the masses. His death is still fresh in the minds of Nigerians. As a little girl all I could remember was (oso-abiola) meaning (abiola-run) deduced from the riot which resulted from the elections of that period! Gen Sani Abacha : June 8 1998 A man whose reign in power can never be forgotten in the history of Nigeria. Christogonus Ezebuiro Obinna : June 2 1999. He was part of the popular team that made up the oriental brothers in the 80's Michael Jackson : June 25 2009 The renowned legend and king of pop music made an impact before leaving this world.though not a nigerian,he was well known here and is still referenced in our music world including his beats, style of dance and dressing! Fatai rolling dollars: June 12 2013. His style of music was outstanding! I love his name rolling dollars! James Gandofini(actor, holly wood). June 19 2013. Had to include it since it always pops during my research! According to Google he was a famous actor! Then Comes year 2014 HRH Emir Ado Bayero of kano : June 6 2014 The Emir ruled for so many decades and was of a sound mind! He was one traditional ruler who had love for igbos! Paid several courtesy visits especially during his sallah tour to sabon_gari Fagge LGA of Kano. Hrh was a leader to the core until June came calling! I'm an alumni of a university named after him! Dora Akunyili- June 7 2014! A woman whose integrity lives even after she's gone! She practically lived for the people through her fight against fake and substandard drugs in Nigeria! Won so many awards both within and out side the country! What more is humanity? What more is love? Her voice still re-echoes and her works standing as testimonies! She won the war against fake drugs! She spoke without feat nor favour! She was a leader,an exemplary mother and mentor to many including me.Even while ill,she still made her voice heard and gave her support to the National Confab in 2014! Her death was sudden! Good people they say don't last! Adieu mama! I was nick-named after you ma during my NYSC and it became a challenge to me! I couldn't fathom it! I looked up to you especially career wise! Little did I know that June was here to take you away! Hmmmmm! Aye! It will also be recalled that another delegate named Hamma misau died during the confab(march 28,2014). True patriots indeed! While nigerians were recovering from the demise of these outstanding personalities death hovered yet again over the Gospel music domain and it was....... Keffe! June 12 2014! A timeless music diva who will be remembered for decades! The Niger deltan born singer rendered many of her songs in her dialect made up of praises and thanks to her creator and sold alots! Adieu princess. Dan Marya Jos- June 20 2015! As a little gir then who lived in the north when playing at intervals we sang songs either to make you feel bad or mock you using Dan Marya's Jos pattern of music without modern instruments .His voice was spectacular and did well in his career! Performed at notable social events! He was a music star of his own kind! And 2016..... Henrietta kosoko - June 6 2016 Henrietta Kosoko a nollywood actress died! While trying to absorb the news of the Niger deltan loss..... Stephen keshi June 8 2016 : A Coach with difference Amodu Shuaibu -June 12 2016 : he even signed stephen keshi's register! Death is cruel. Then came Banjo Abdulragbemi June 12 2016 she's the wife of a popular juju singer! OJB Jezreel -June 14 2016 : After a successful kidney transplant and plans to celebrate his birthday in july.....death came! June! Why? Maureen onu - June 17 2016 she was the finalist for this year's Miss Tourism Nigeria from Ebonyi state billed for 9th of July 2016! What a loss! A pretty diva! Barr Niki Tobi - June 17 2016 A well known academician and a lawyer! He hails from delta state! He was one time a Judge of the supreme Court of justice! Taking a quick glance at these deaths so far,it can be deduced that majority died in their sleep. They also had their birthdays around the corner or just about to be celebrated. Age range 50-60 except for a few! Did you also ask June why? Betsy O. Black Ambassador |
Hello my fellow Nairalanders! Hope you're al good and enjoying the fruits of your labour! Well I gate crashed and was present for the 3 days Coordination. My experience: I got into the Biology class after spending close to 45mins to locate the exact class as the paper used for identification fell off without the WAEC staffs taking note! Waited for another 40mins for the chief examiner who wasted time trying to coordinate herself before attending to us! The class was made of few examiners so happy was I! About 20mins into the session, she announced that if your course of study isn't Biology Education no point, she won't have you mark the papers! She was mean! Elderly,i agree! But that should have been the first announcement! This came after I had struggled to pen down my name! Hmmmmm! We(me and others) who had other degrees but biology related went in search of Biology 3(practical)as against the theory! We were offered list to write our names! I was NO 39! Lucky me! We started! It was hot! Exchange of ideas both wrong and right flying over our heads! Since I was younger and inexperienced I sat down adjusting my ears to each words whatever angle it came from! Those teachers gat no chill! Old,strong and mean people! I actually saw the set of people I pray against those days in school! Stocking up marks for extremely greedy reasons! And Day 3 came! We parted with our credentials original and photocopies! It was checked! And out of 56 people only 3 were picked! Reasonbeing that they was no much scripts to be marked!!!!!!! The rest of us weren't lucky! Well I was happy all the same! I sowed and I know I will reap! Despite the cost of transportation in abuja! I wish all who got packs good luck! Strength to mark well! Life is full of ups and down and only the strong make it through! Never give up is the spirit! |
