fairfora: Amen God will make a way bro. Please dont lose hope. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth either. My parents are peasant farmers. Many times my siblings and I had slept on empty stomach. Have you ever bought Eba as takeaway and asked the seller to please put enough soup, then take it home, now make your own eba and add a little water to the soup so it would be enough and add some ingredients with it? We would now combine the eba I bought at the canteen with that made by self at home. That's what myself and siblings would eat. God can truly raise anyone. yeah, believe me when I say have experienced even worst than yours.Anyway hoping for grace. Rejoice with you.. |

fairfora: Good one but for me, I'm not going anywhere. I travelled to the same America many times and in September 2004 for the very first time in my life and on a virgin passport. I was barely a year on the job after my nysc that time. I was on my very first annual leave after confirmation of my appointment. I wasn't well paid that time but I could say I was comfortable compared to what my peers were earning. I saw America and I was like...this is a new world . Maybe the guy and I travelled the same month or year as he celebrated his 15th year in yankee a few months ago. I came back after spending 2 weeks and people were calling me names. They said I had been charmed , bla, bla, bla. Meanwhile, I had foreseen the huge opportunities here in Nigeria. A few years later, I became independent, doing my business. My 3 kids attend one of the best schools in the country. The same country and airports he claims they maltreat Nigerians, I earn respect, each time I visit as a Nigerian. They still say yes sir to me. The only difference between me and US citizens at the airport is passport control and that I'm subjected to that doesn't make me lose my respect...I still earn it. Where I have visited in America, I doubt if that guy has stepped into half of it because once you're in there, you hardly have time to move around except you're a celebrity. There's no time cos work would take almost all your productive hours, except when you're 2 days off. I've visited almost 35 states in America, mostly on business. I travel both by road and air. Road via greyhound and by air via my preferred airline, called spirit. I can enter yankee anytime I choose and once my Visa is expired, I drop box. I don't have to appear in person. Back home, I dine and wine with leaders that matter. The book of proverb 18:16 says a man's gift makes a way for him and brings him before kings. I can say that description matched my life as a Nigerian. I've met with the president of America on one occasion in same hall where he came to address us. There's a reason why God created us here. We should rather ask Him to help us unleash our potentials , that's all. Amazingly with their green paali, each time I visit, I'm still the one dashing most of them and children money. If you feel leaving is your best option, think twice . You may go there and bring back home opportunities. I've also built houses, not a house...in exotic estates in Lagos. Leaving the country isn't the best option at times. What you go to look for in sokoto, is right inside your sokoto. Only ask God to make a way for you. Good for you.. But hope u do know many are living with practically below a dollar a day?. IT has not been easy been a Nigerian at all. May God help us |

toobusy: bro isn't it possible to trace the morgue..... get your bank statement of account for the month.... find out what account your money was transferred to and lay a complain........ Won't the criminal be traced that way? ...... just thinking and asking though see bro.. In a sane country it's very possible to nab those criminals but in Nigeria it's a waste of valuable time. Am once a victim.. I complaint to d bank.. I collected my bank statement and head straight to d police Station n complain abt it.. I parted with some cash inorder for fast response but the police people they tell me the criminal acct doesn't have a passport nor house address.. And the bank official told they could only block the acct n nothing else. Can you imagine?? Anyway was stolen but man gat move on.. |

manitobor: On the first of April 2019, I boarded an intra-city vehicle and dropped at my destination unaware that a guy sitting beside me in the bus had stolen my phone from my pocket. The bus I boarded had picked the guy on the way and he sat next to me. I had no inkling at all that he had the intention of picking my pocket though something told me that this guy's way 'no pure' as he was casting uncanny and surreptitious glances towards my direction, with a weird look on his face. Little did I know he was busy with my pocket.
It was several minutes after I had alighted at my destination that I realised that my smartphone was missing from my pocket. I used a friend's phone to dial my number and found out that the criminal had already switched it off. I resigned to fate knowing fully well that my chances of getting back the phone was slim. I however kept dialling my number till evening, it was still switched off. 6 AM in the morning of 2nd April I dialled my number again and it was ringing but wasn't picked up at the other end. After a few more attempts, the rogue switched off the phone again.
I decided to contact MTN that day to block the line, which they did. However, to my chagrin, when I went to the ATM that same morning to make a withdrawal, I found out the my account balance had changed and that the criminals have succeeded in withdrawing some thousands of Naira from my account. I rushed inside the bank immediately and blocked the account.
What I am still dazed about is how it's possible for criminals to withdraw money from someone's bank account just by getting hold of the sim card. Mind you, my phone can only be accessed via a PIN, so the possibility of them making a transfer using my bank's mobile app is ruled out. So how did they do it?
Has anyone ever been victim of such? Please share so others can learn.
Mods, can you please move to front page so others can learn? Thanks. Am once a victim, mine was 100k..Did all I could to get d criminal but our police and bank official are just not it.. Nigeria needs total rebranding.. Sorry for your lose. |

FantasticJ: Oga, It's not the bank, It's the Op friend. There must have been a saved PIN on his phone or SIM. There's no way funds will move without passwords. Oga there is ooo, last December was withdraw from my account after my phone was stolen. The trick is they will change your transactions pin by first getting your bvn number via your registered bvn sim and then use it to change your transaction pin via the Ussd platform. To even make the matter worst I reported the case to the bank(Gtbank in Ogba) they couldn't do anything, I collected statement of account and went straight to the police and after various extortion from the police(from Bank order to various charges and nothing to show for it) I just give up easily. Nigeria is a messed up Country and please Sim lock for Sim if you don't want someone to transfer your funds after snatching your phone. You all should stay safe and yes if anybody can still help in apprehending those criminals I wouldn't mind. |
