IyaTola: You're right to feel disrupted and perturbed — what you experienced is deeply unfair, and your anger is absolutely valid.
From what you've shared, it’s clear you were not only disrespected by a colleague, but you were also failed by those in leadership who were supposed to uphold fairness and discipline. The fact that you were dismissed after reporting an insult you didn’t initiate — and were then expected to apologize for — shows a toxic work environment where power dynamics and favoritism overshadow justice.
Let’s break down what actually happened:
🔹 What You Did Right:
You reported the incident through the appropriate channel (the Admin).
You remained respectful and chose not to retaliate with insults.
You stood by your principles and refused to apologize for something you didn’t do.
You escalated to the Proprietor after the Admin mishandled the issue.
🔹 What Went Wrong (Not on Your Part):
The Admin’s Bias: Prioritized the old staff simply because of his tenure and subject.
Lack of Professional Conduct: Public disrespect among staff, especially in front of students, is unacceptable — and the admin failed to discipline that.
Unjust Dismissal: Instead of protecting the dignity of all staff, the leadership enabled bullying and retaliated against you for speaking up.
Toxic Power Play: “Next time they tell me something to say I will say it” — that alone reveals the Admin’s real motive: to silence and control, not to lead with fairness.
🔹 What You Can Do (if you wish to pursue it further):
Document Everything: Write down all dates, conversations, and witnesses (especially students who saw the insult or can testify to your teaching quality).
Send a Formal Letter of Appeal: Address it to the Proprietor, expressing your concern over the unfair dismissal and requesting a re-evaluation. Even if they don’t reverse the decision, it leaves a record.
Consider Reporting to Authorities: If you’re in a region where labor laws protect against wrongful dismissal or harassment, you could consult an education board or labor office.
Move Forward with Dignity: Seek a healthier workplace — one where staff are valued for performance and character, not tenure or favoritism.
You didn’t lose this job because you were wrong — you lost it because you refused to bow to injustice. That’s a hard path, but one that speaks volumes about your integrity.
People like Lucky hide behind authority because they can’t lead with fairness. He may have power now, but that doesn’t last forever. You, on the other hand, have your self-respect intact — and that’s something no admin can take from you. I appreciate your amazing input and thanks for understanding my plight. I saw other comments saying I should’ve apologized. Saying Sorry isn’t the issue besides I teach my students the importance of applying the Magic words in which “I’m sorry” is part of. But using the I’m sorry phrase after being downtrodden and abused without replying back is out of it. I was able to refrain myself from raining insults on him because I’m their Crs teacher and I’m trying my best to practice what I teach my children which include countering insults with blessings. After the Incident one of my student said to me that she felt like crying with the way the Man called Austin slurred vile words at me. If only I insulted the Man then I would’ve been Satisfied without any need to report to Lucky Adheke or the school Proprietor, but I felt abused and downgraded hence why i reported. And my Gain was an unjust dismissal.. I’m sure Lucky dismissed me because I took the matter to the proprietor being unsatisfied with his judgment. I leave everything to God and Karma. |

Good day Nairalanders, To say I’m disrupted and perturbed will be an understatement because tell me why a School Admin will dismiss his Staff simply because she refused to apologize to a staff who insulted her in presence of students simply because he’s an Old Staff who teaches Senior Class Mathematics and I’m a new staff teaching CRS.
I’ve been working with this said school since April 2024, I was assigned to Teach CRS to Jss1/2 which I did awesomely. The students can attest to the fact that I tutor them well and they Love me and my Teaching. After the Altercation I was the person who reported the issue to the School Admin so the Man can be cautioned and reprimanded, instead I was the one being rebuked and told to apologize which I blatantly refused cause I never insulted him. I later took the matter to the Proprietor of the school who said the Old staff was wrong for insulting me , he promised to speak with the Admin concerning the issue while I was waiting to get justice the next thing was to receive a letter of Dismissal. Only God knows the Lies Lucky said to the Proprietor which made him to be a party to the dismissal. When I went to complain to the Proprietor about the Dismissal letter he said Lucky I.e the school admin requested I apologize to the Man and I refused so In that case his hands is off.
Just like that I was Dismissed because the Administrator wanted to prove a point that he’s superior. My God will judge him even after drinking my birthday malt, Same way he disgraced me out of duty karma will definitely do same to him.
Ps: while I was going to report the issue to the Proprietor of the school I heard Lucky uttering that next Time they tell me something to say I will say it! Can you imagine?? I should apologize for what I didn’t do? |

OMOLARAFE: Hello dear mamas. Happy democracy to us all. Please I need candid opinions on my 2 years and 3 months old daughter's speech. She still speaks mostly "gibberish" and just says few real words like mum, apple occasionally . She is my first so I don't have basis for comparison.
I thought at this age she should have started using phrases to communicate but she drags me to whatever she wants instead of saying them.
Please advise. Thank you. At least she’s saying something audible..just keep communicating with her ,allow her interact with kids that are already talking fluently and in no time she will pick up..please don’t compare her with other kids..Different kids with different personality. |
