Similar experience happened to me in February this year. A big Daewoo bus (comrade bus) veered off its lane and swerved towards us and bang!!!! I was sitting in the front with the driver. Honestly ......I cried seeing those who gave up the ghost as help didn't come. Immediately, my life started playing like a movie before my eyes. Several questions started running through my mind. Was I proud of the life I had lived in the past? I saw another wicked part of Nigerians in behaviour. They approach the accident scene and say eyaa....they take photos and zoom off! Even the police refused to help accident victims. FRSC and NSCDC showed up later to help. For respect of the departed, I refused to take photographs of any lifeless body or bleeding victim just the bus wreckage. Let me tell us all, nobody knows the minute his number will be called. The earthly death does not need anybody's permission to knock on his door. When the time comes even our conscience starts judging us immediately, especially when you know you haven't lived right. I had a second chance, I know what I felt and vowed to totally disconnect myself from all earthly vice that has been a limitation to me. Fellow nairalanders, hmm.....a word is enough.
My dear the only earthly vice one can have is hatred against his God and Man.

As long as you're in Christ Jesus and you got no hatred for your neighbour then you gat now worries.

Christianity EtcRe: 10 Ways Sinners Celebrate Easter- By Tosyne2much by datigbogirl: 10:20am On Mar 30, 2016
misspicy:
Some two thousand years ago, around this time of the year, Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour was made to go through agonizing pains and torture just to redeem us,He was nailed on the cross and left to die there, researchers have proven that the closest a human can experience the type of pain Jesus endured is during childbirth for women.

Yesterday Easter Sunday is considered as a day Jesus was risen from the dead, which qualifies us sinners as candidates of heaven if we believe in him and pray for forgiveness for our sins, but it is a pity that many people have taken the celebration to another level.

Thank you Tosyne2much for exposing the sinful deeds of many people in the name of celebration Easter

11) Some people go for Entertainment/worldly shows instead of going to church to thank God

eg AY show last night where all sort of atrocities went down, from young boys and girls drinking and smoking to openly sexual actions. this makes me realise that the world is has truly come an end

Lalasticlala, how did you celebrate yours tongue
Was there actually open sexual shows at AY live?

No one punishes like Nigerian parents. It’s a fact. The fear of your parents is also a very good place for wisdom to start. When you have committed, your parents will call you by your full name (Smellymouth Lalasticlala Agarawu) and after a dialogue that is actually a monologue of them shouting rhetorical questions like; ”Am I your matehuh" at you, they will proceed to either flog you or hit you with anything from a spatula to slippers. God bless you if their weapon breaks on your body, because then you will be beaten for the loss of the weapon. Also, do not attempt self defense, you might destroy the weapon and like I said, that doesn’t help you. And do not try to run, they will throw things at you and  catch up with you. So, don’t do it.

May God continue to bless this men.... While Christians are already in preparatory mood ahead of the Easter celebration, gallant troops who have laid down their lives for the security of this country -are fending for themselves with whatever the available presents them with. The brave soldiers were seen preparing for the festive season while in a remote location (in a jungle) in the northern part of the country. The soldiers even use water gotten from a well in the region (as seen in the pictures) -due to the lack of the "golden" resource....

As for me and my disciples, this Easter we will go to church this morning and later in the afternoon/evening, we will be in a local joint...if possible a very local joint, drinking palm wine and roasted pork till mama starts calling. As you celerate this Easter wining an dinning, please remember that there are some human beings who are facing the most humiliating level of poverty and who need your help. A Newseveryhour.com reader sent in the photos and shares his encounter..

"Please don't mind my poor photography. I just have to share this. This is the height of humiliation I have seen. Poverty is not good. Last night, I was coming from work and saw this man at the traffic around the overhead bridge close to the Lekki Toll gate and adjacent the Oriental Hotel. I saw this man as he suddenly walked Close to an apparently rich man waiting in his posh car at the traffic light. He kneeled down there in the middle of the busy express road and started begging him for money. I felt bad as I couldn't just stop wondering what level of poverty could make a man this able to go on his knees publicly on the road to start begging a fellow man for money."

It's only the padre, and not the seductionist(s), who is under oath. The latter has nothing at stake, really. The padre either sticks it out or quit if he no longer has the moral stamina and resolve to stay true to his calling. In the same manner, if a medical doctor cannot stay true to her/his calling with reference to the Hippocratic oath, s/he should (if s/he has a conscience) call it a day perhaps by moving into another sector where s/he can stay true to her/his calling. Junior doctors in England are currently demanding better working conditions with a threat that if the government fails to act, they'll move to other parts of the UK (especially Scotland and Northern Ireland) or abroad (Middle East, Australia, Canada, etc.). Rather than fold their arms and watch patients die, they'll simply move elsewhere. Only then can they, like Pontius Pilate, wash their hands clean of a patient's blood.
Your statement here has no correlation to your suggestion...ds doctors are not resigning dr profession but will move to a place with better working condition...it's like d prayer of every doctor but you're here saying the doctor should down tools kpatakpata and become jobless simply becos he demands to be paid for the skills he uses in rendering life saving services...

Humans will always take important things for granted.

Pls, dnt lock ur hrt, dias a reason u r a doctor n it is to save lives, dnt allow ds type of incident occur again in ur hospital. Tamper justice wt mercy pls.
He should tie d patient down ba? You're so funny...ppl dat have no idea about running a hospital or the medical profession will come and be giving you advise on how to run the hospital...even govt hospitals with the best of security experts still have patient absconding under watchful eyes...i mentioned my experience on how a patient called to organize touts dat beat us up and he dropped 2thousand naira as hospital bill and left....you don't know patients at all so pls don't give any advise..

Most of the private hospitals you see functioning well are either being funded by HMOs or have a strict rule when it comes to bills and they usually have their customers like celebrities, politicians etc....e.g Eko hospitals, St.Nicholas, Reddington etc...even when you sef enter the place you'll go and find another hospital to go to cos you'll be too intimidated to start acting funny or cause any scene when your bill is presented...some will even size you up and deny you admission if they sense you'll end up being a trouble maker who won't pay....you can't blame them cos they're not ready to hear stories dat touch! That wont put food on their tables

Some doctors are really good and very helpful, but I think the best way to solve Nigerian health problems is doctors must find another extra way of making money instead of completely depending of their medical processes. Medical system is like men of God who try preach for God, ones they totally depend on it as their main source of income they can never get it right.
Do you know the kind of stress it takes and d energy it saps out of one just to do my job as a Doctor? So after performing a tasking 4hour operation for peanuts i should still go out and hustle to make actual ends meet and fen come back for another surgery again... Den when i doze off on a patient and forget a forceps in d intestine you'll be the first to call for my Jugular...

Despite the fact i was working alone in d ward seeing 5 different patients at the same time...i was so overwhelmed i forgot to document for a patient what i actually did for him..yet my Oga scolded me and told me i must always document first for each patient i see b4 moving to another patient because d Lawyer will not hear dat one in court oh...he'll look for every means to nail you even though i was trying to save as much people's life by attending to emergencies first b4 documenting.

Even in developed countries Doctors actually practise safety dan compassion now cos the people you're having compassion for will tear you to pieces in d court of law....

now that's rather unfair to the doc. You don't find it DISGUSTING that patients more often than not would prefer to give all they have to the pastors/imams/herbalist/ "chemists" etc.,who worsen things and yield no results only to come to the hospital and declare "bankruptcy". Fact is Doctors are humans and they have needs just as everyone else. IT'S not a sin for one to earn from his/her practice.
And d most annoying part is coming to quote our Hippocratic oath out of context thinking they can use that to outsmart one...very irritating set of people.

It's not every treatment though, is it?! He still gets paid from patients, from in-house Pharmacy, and from Sales Reps. I understand that some patients choose not to pay, but future emergencies shouldn't be sacrificed on the grounds that patients in the past didn't pay. The oath the OP swore to protect life first at all costs also applies in Nigeria. It's just my opinion.
"Swear to protect life AT ALL COST"... The problem is dat you always look at it as if the Doctor is d only one who works in d hospital so he's the one who'll chop all d money...the nurse or other staff follow me take d oath? My wife and pikin sabi d meaning of oath? Your own na to get your cure even if hunger kill me & my family throway or staffs jack my neck for their salary or my kids are thrown out of school or forced to enroll in a school where they use Yoruba to teach Maths...e no go better for such a useless oath!

no argument, but it will make more sense ID doctors can live by the mantra "live first"...
You're just being purely impractical and do not understand that times have changed.... In those days doctors were revered wherever they went...they were housed for free, they were loved fed and protected...thats why people saw them as demi-gods...they weren't practising it for money den cos they had all dr needs catered for by people and d government...they were more like house of assembly members or ministers...can dse same things still be done in ds dispensation?

If i make d mistake of revealing my identity in d market I'll be charged double not minding all d wahala we've been through in our place of work.

My dear colleague its d same story every where. Most patients & their relatives refuse to pay after u've suffered to treat them without full payment. I did emergency C.S. on a friends wife since february last year and saved the life of both the woman & her baby boy for only N 120,000, which covers drugs, theatre fee, surgeon fee, bed fee, medical & nursing care, blood transfused. Despite the guy being very rich with flashy cars & child dedication ceremony of over 1.5 million, he has refused on his wicked wife's advice not to offset his balance of 40K. If a Dr declines to treat on credit, wailers & end time nairalanders will come to rant against us.
Can you imagine even the wife you saved her life still went ahead to sabotage your gains....see why i said patients ate just innately wicked nothing more! I have no shame in not pitying patients cos they don't mind infecting you with the disease if that will make dem whole and still go ahead to deny you of your bills and beat you up if you talk too much...
