Hello house, first of all, I wish to thank all contributors to this thread. Its been really been helpful. God bless all. I am posting this on behalf of a family member who has been given admission to MUN in education for Fall 2015 (September). She would like to go with her spouse and two children. Their personal savings altogether is around N10m. They have a personal house and 2 plots of land. They intend getting 3 co-sponsors who are close relatives but their major fears is the issue of ties to Nigeria. They actually intend coming back to Nigeria after the whole program, to set up a school on one of their lands. House, what do you think are their chances of success in their request for TRV? |

meggy 11:Thanks Meggy. I learn everyday and that's why am on Nairaland! But Genuine wisdom and knowledge is usually conspicuous through modesty and silence. Happy to know you were entertained anyway. |

@dejstahl I agree with you in totality. I don't know why the religion sector has now turn a criticism section. Most of us are quick to judge men of God either a true one or not based on what a nairaland member says or what we "believe" is the truth. We are quick to call someone "thief" "twisting bible" etc. As christians, I keep wondering what are our great commission is. My joy is that the church of God still march on. The gate of hell has not and will not prevail. Alleluyah |
My question to you poster: Why did you give? I have some options for you, Please let me know which one best fit your action in church on that day: 1. You gave because the bible ask us to give (bearing in mind that the bible says when we give we should not even allow our left hand to know what our right hand is doing). 2. Did you give because you believe in your heart that the church is "really" in need and your seed will help in a little way to assist the church. 3. Is your giving to the church on that day for the purpose of coming back to Nairaland to ridicule the pastor? 4. Did you give "Just for the purpose of getting a job" since you claimed you were jobless at that time. Your response will assist me to know if pastors are thieves without guns or not. ZZZZZZZZhank You. |

@ Kunle Oshobu,: 21But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast. Thank God you've been able to recognise that which is good, after testing and proving. Please let others also test and prove all things until they are able to recognise that which is good and to that they should be able to hold fast - Just like you. Please stop making that YOU alone have recognised as truth to be a basis. My 2 cents once again. Ciao |
@ KunleOshob I keep wondering whats with you and tithes. I want you to always remember that there are two sides to every coin. If my pastor or anyone can twist the bible for me to pay tithes, anyone be it pastor or not also can twist the bible for me not to pay tithes. In as much as it is not expressly written in the bible as: Woe unto you that PAY tithes or woe unto you that DO NOT pay tithes - We should learn to give our brief and let the holy spirit lead us as Christian. It is expressly written in the bible that " the fool hath said in his heart, there is no God" yet so many do not believe in the God's existence. I think we can start tackling things from those areas that are boldly written in the bible. This is just my own 2 cents. Ciao |
@ Job101 Can't you put the required details on the advert? or are those details secret? Just wondering why applicant needs to call you. |
Bonsuir tout le mode. Comment ca va? |
The bank should have given him a query or something, not sacked. The guy acted at the spur of the moment and whatever training or policy he had might not even be remembered. But what happened to the robber after all? ![]() |
@ Grace5. Thanks. God bless you too. |
Nice ones here! Permission!!! Hope some of the write-ups can be copyright for church bulletins. |
Wale's eviction from the Ultimate search might not be political but what I do believe is that the eviction is unfair!! NB Plc should be wary of what they project for public viewing. If a single write-up in the dailies can lead to killing of innocent citizen which eventually lead to the cancellation of the miss-world contest in Nigeria, then, there is need to be cautious especially in a multi-cultural economy like Nigeria. There are lots of ways that Wale could have been punished without eviction. Yea, he was warned along with the other contestants to keep the totem; how come he bear the blame alone, he did not appoint himself as the team leader and it is unfair for Wale to be the totem bearer without an assistance as was the case in initial GUS. Wale would have been warned just like was done to Samuel in previous GUS. Samuel was evicted finally when they were just 4 contestants left, still based on totem. (and it was believed that at that stage, any mistake will lead to eviction) So what made Wale's case different, why can't he be warned, demoted or even asked to go without food as was done to Chuks. How come the totem is so important and the responsibility of just one person! If the totem is that important, why not give each contestants a totem to keep and whosoever looses his own will be evicted? Last man standing (winner) has always been based on who found something, not who kept totem or whatever, so why use it to evict?. What is the GUS out for, is it to kick out the least popular among the contestant? if that is the aim, it should be well portrayed so contestant can pretend and not be themselves. It was shown during the time of Vaugh when fellow contestant were asked to vote against him? When organisers very well know that Vaugh has an issue with the other contestants? Is that a yardstick for measuring the ultimate man? Me-think, they have discovered that the remaining tasks they have for contestants would not see Wale not being the ultimate man, hence his eviction for flimsy reason. Personally, I have stopped watching the show, let millions that can take in unfairness a continue. |
