I was browsing through stuffs on Konga this morning when i stumbled upon the Silex M5 smartphone, the Silex M5 smartphone is packed with a Stunning 5.0 inches HD IPS One Glass Solution (OGS), with 16.5 million colours, 1.3GHz Quad Core mali GPU and 1gb of ram.

What really drew my attention to this phone was the price, my jaws literally dropped when i saw the price, no one could ever imagine that a smartphone with those specifications could go for only #10,900? It's the best option for people who are on a tight budget and also the perfect gift to someone. Apparently, Konga is doing some kind of promo, so the price was slashed from from #24,000 to #10,000

What i thought people wouldn't like about this smartphone was the OS (operating system) version, it runs on Android 4.2 (jellybean OS) which people see as 'stale'. Regardless, this is a smartphone i would not mind recommending to anyone who's on a tight budget anytime any day. Below are the complete specification of the smartphone:

GamingSteelseries Reveals The Rival 700, The First-ever Gaming Mouse With An OLED Disp by David4473(op): 10:02pm On Jan 08, 2016
https://www.techspot.com/images2/news/bigimage/2016/01/2016-01-08-image-7.jpg

You’ll find OLEDs on a variety of products these days, but you wouldn’t expect to find one on gaming mouse – until now. At CES, SteelSeries announced the Rival 700 – the first-ever gaming mouse to feature a fully customizable onboard OLED display.

The Rival 700’s display sits just in front of the thumb grip and can be personalized to perform functions such as tracking stats (like counting headshots), access on-the-fly sensitivity settings, and button mapping. You can even customize the display with your name or an image.

In addition to its unique display, SteelSeries says the Rival 700’s many other features make it the “most powerful gaming mouse in the world.” It has a tactile alert built in, allowing users to ‘feel’ in-game events such as low health or cooldown timers going off. Owners can customize the intensity and pattern of these vibrations, and set individual alerts for multiple triggers.

The mouse itself is also high customizable, featuring swappable covers with different designs and surfaces, interchangeable sensors to replace older ones as new versions are released, and two different-sized cables. There are also the usual options to change the weights and adjust the LEDs.

"We're thrilled to deliver the world's first smart gaming mouse," SteelSeries CEO Ehtisham Rabbani said. "By listening to gamers and esports athletes, we've perfected professional gaming mice for more than a decade. The Rival 700 takes that expertise and meets gamers needs today, and grows to help them win in the future."

Here’s SteelSeries’ full list of the Rival 700’s features:

Like all SteelSeries Rival mice, the Rival 700 has zero hardware acceleration and an optical sensor that offers gamers true 1:1 tracking accuracy.

Gamers can configure resolution settings up to 16,000 counts per inch (CPI) and down to one millisecond of customizable response time, equaling zero lag time.

The sensor has the ability to accurately track movement speeds of up to 300 inches per second at 50g of acceleration.

The Rival 700 has a removable sensor module, allowing gamers to swap to a laser sensor or other future options.

GameSense and Prism RGB illumination give gamers the power to choose millions of color options and customizable lighting effects powered by in-game events.

The mouse cover is swappable to ones with different designs and surfaces.

The Rival 700 is packaged with a 3ft rubber cable and a 6ft braided cable for gamers who choose to game on their laptop or desktop.

Swappable sensors provide gamers the option to change to the latest sensors on the market without purchasing a brand new mouse.

OLED display allows gamers to personalize the Rival 700 with logos and custom in-game settings.

The Rival 700 will be available this Spring for $100. The optional sensors and mouse covers will be available to buy around the same time.

PhonesHow To Send Money With Snapchat? by David4473(op): 9:54pm On Jan 05, 2016

Just when we thought social networking apps couldn't get anymore unconventional, along came snapchat with a whole new trick up its sleeve.
The popular photo messaging app that recently had its big break has announced the a new feature called "Snapcash" through a deal with Square cash, the new feature allows users to send money to their friends a simply as sending a text message. The feature rolled out on the Android version of the app, with the IOS version coming soon.

This isn't the first time that a social networking app delved Into a peer-to-peer payment system.
Just two months back, Twitter announced a feature where users in France could send money to each other by simply making a tweet. This Snapcash feature isn't very different in essence.

How It Works?

To send money, you simply have to add a payment method - such as a debit card to your snapchat account. Type a dollar amount into the text-chat feature, and just hit the green pay button to instantly send money to a friend!

To send money, you simply have to add a payment method - such as a debit card to your snapchat account. Type a dollar amount into the text-chat feature, and just hit the green pay button to instantly send money to a friend!

Below is a video that explains how Snapcash works intuitively.

Users in the United state who are 18+ can sign up by adding a Visa or MasterCard debit card to their accounts. All their account details are will be held by squarecash, so you don't have to worry about your credentials being with snapchat, we all know snapchat has had privacy and security problems in the past.

While in Snapchat text-chat, you just have to type in the "$" then the amount you want to send. Snapchat will then immediately detect that you're trying to pay, and then changes the 'send button' to a green Snapcash button, and tapping it deposits money into a friends account. That cash will be waiting for them whenever they sign-up if they haven't already. If the friend doesn't sign-up to accept the payment within 24 hours, the cash will be refunded so you don't have to worry about your money disappearing.

Beyond peer- to-peer payments, the trademarks could prime Snapchat for Ecommerce and payments to merchants as well. By wedging itself into p2p payments through a customer app that tens of millions of people are already using regularly with their close friends, Snapcash could really inject itself into the lives of people who never considered downloading a finance app.

GamingMultiplayer Mod For 'just Cause 3' Is In The Works by David4473(op): 5:21pm On Jan 01, 2016
Although Just Cause 3 was launched with some performance problems but what really discouraged a lot of people was the admission earlier on that the game wouldn't feature a multiplayer mode. Fortunately, a fix is in work by the same group that created the just cause 2 multiplayer MOD.

https://static5.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1365/13658182/2795971-jc3_screenshot_freefallbase1_11_1418315493.12.2014.jpg

The group revealed in a forum post that they are working on a similar MOD for the latest installment of the popular franchise. As you can see in the video above,it looks like the development team is well on it's way.

One of the developers also posted that they are excited to show off the progress they have made this far and that fans can expect frequents updates moving forward. No word yet on when the MOD will be completed or released (or even why Square Enix didn't embed multiplayer as an "official mode"wink

So if you're thinking of ditching just cause 3 cause of aforementioned mistakes made by Square Enix, hold that thought just yet and chill!

ComputersRenowned Hacker George Hotz Built This Autonomous Driving System Using... by David4473(op): 8:19pm On Dec 17, 2015
https://www.techspot.com/images2/news/bigimage/2015/12/2015-12-17-image-6.jpg

George Hotz may not be a name you're familiar with but in the modding community, he's practically a living legend. Known online as "Geohot," he became the first person to hack Apple's original iPhone at the ripe age of 17 and later reverse-engineered the PlayStation 3 (Sony wasn't thrilled about that).
These days, he's turned his attention to much bigger endeavors - like building his own autonomous driving system.

Hotz recently invited Bloomberg to check out his creation, one that he's been developing in secret. He's taken a standard-issue 2016 Acura ILX sedan and outfitted it with an array of sensors, cameras, computers, GPS units and more - all of which connect to the car's main computer systems. In total, he's spent just $50,000 on the project - $30,000 of which was for the car itself.

https://www.techspot.com/images2/news/bigimage/2015/12/2015-12-17-image-7.jpg

Two major breakthroughs are said to make the tinkerer's project possible: the continued rise in computer processing power and advances in deep learning.

Bloomberg writer Ashlee Vance checked back in with Hotz a few more times after their initial meeting. Each time, the self-driving system performed much better than it previously had. Remarkably enough, Hotz claims his software consists of just 2,000 lines of codes compared to the hundreds of thousands of lines used in other autonomous driving vehicles.

Hotz aims to have a world-class autonomous driving system ready in just five months that he will present to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. It's pretty incredible how advanced his system already is, a true testament to the brilliance of a young man with a very bright future ahead.

GamingThe State Of PC Gaming In 2015 by David4473(op): 6:10pm On Dec 17, 2015
Unlike the other gaming platforms we’ve been evaluating here at the end of the year, the PC’s been around for decades. Recently, the PC’s long legacy of openness and customization has come into conflict with a mainstream that’s finally—finally—realized just how big of a deal PC gaming actually is.

This is part of Kotaku's “State of” series, a look at how the five major consoles (and PC) are doing this year.

By and large, the PC is in a great place. More PC games are coming out than ever, and most of them are even coming out at the same time as their console counterparts. As a result, the PC offers a front row seat to the industry’s heaviest hitters and cleverest indies. On top of that, the PC’s back catalog is a formidable beast, a leviathan that even the most voracious players will never truly slay. New companies are polishing up and re-releasing classics like System Shock 2 and Baldur’s Gate as well, so incompatibility issues—while still present—are becoming less of a problem (however, nobody’s been able to do that for No One Lives Forever yet). You’ve also got more options than ever as to where you buy your games digitally, though Steam is pretty much a must.

https://www.techspot.com/articles-info/1111/images/2015-12-16-image.jpg

“More,” as a concept, is among the sharpest double-edged swords. This year saw more games released on Steam—the biggest PC gaming service by a mile—than ever, many of which were… not super great. It’s a reflection of PC’s renewed relevance in the eyes of game-makers: everybody wants their game on services like Steam. While Valve has worked to improve tools that help people discover new games, plenty of high-quality stuff is still slipping through the cracks.

Moreover, programs like Steam Early Access see unfinished games make their way onto the service. Some, like dinosaur survival hit Ark: Survival Evolved, are great, but others launch in shoddy states and end up abandoned.

A handful of smaller games have still managed to rise to the top and become marquee PC attractions. In 2015, PC-first games like Ark: Survival Evolved, Cities: Skylines, Besiege, Undertale, and Darkest Dungeon go from relative obscurity to the top of the charts. They’re all must-plays, and many of them continue to grow and evolve thanks to updates and dedicated communities.

The PC modding scene both flourished and faltered in 2015. User-created additions transformed big releases like Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto V, The Witcher 3, and even Star Wars Battlefront. They also added fascinating flavor to smaller games like Cities: Skylines, Ark: Survival Evolved, and Besiege. Oh, and they continued to keep all-but-abandoned games like Left 4 Dead 2 from completely going under.

PhonesThis Smartphone Packs A Massive 10,000mah Battery, Can Last Up To 15 Days by David4473(op): 8:27pm On Dec 15, 2015

Smartphones continue to get slimmer and sleeker yet as they do, the cry for better battery life gets louder and louder. At least one handset maker has heard the call for improved battery life and is actually doing something about it.

Chinese smartphone maker Oukitel has announced a new handset that it claims can last between 10 to 15 days on a single charge. A full charge takes just 3.5 hours, the company says.

https://www.techspot.com/images2/news/bigimage/2015/12/2015-12-14-image-8.jpg

The K10000 features a 5.5-inch, 720p display powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1GHz alongside 2GB of RAM and 16GB of local storage (expandable via microSD card slot). Around back in an 8-megapixel camera; a 2-megapixel shooter up front handles video calls and selfie duties. It will ship running Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The handset is able to pull off its marathon runtime thanks in part to a massive 10,000mAh battery (its mid-range hardware certainly helps as well). Despite its size and large battery, BGR points out that the phone weighs less than the iPhone 6s Plus at only 184 grams.

Its mid-range specs and lack of brand recognition certainly won't appeal to everyone but for demanding road warriors willing to gamble, this could be a very tempting device.
The Oukitel K10000 is available for pre-order as of writing priced at $239.99 sans contract. The pre-sale runs through January 2 with plans to ship a few weeks later.

GamingLenovo Partners With Razer To Tackle Gaming PC Segment by David4473(op): 10:37pm On Nov 29, 2015

One of the world’s largest PC makers is joining forces with one of the most recognizable gaming accessory brands to create a new line of gaming PCs. Lenovo and Razer have announced a partnership in which they’ll co-brand and co-market special Razer Edition models based on the former’s Y series devices.

A press release said the effort will combine the manufacturing, supply chain and channel relationships of Lenovo with Razer’s immersive technology and deep expertise. Or in other words, Lenovo will design and engineer systems while Razer will add gaming-inspired touches like customizable lighting effects.

One would assume that Razer Edition systems will also come bundled with Razer input devices and software although nothing of the sort has been confirmed.

Mag is on the ground at DreamHack Winter 2015 where a prototype Razer Edition system is on display. Specs aren’t really being discussed but the crew did confirm the demo system is packing a pair of Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics cards in SLI.

Lenovo has earned a reputation as a business PC provider but in actuality, the company already offers several gaming-minded computers (although none appear to be terribly impressive). Working with Razer gives Lenovo the opportunity to focus on gaming PCs as a segment and if the DreamHack prototype is any indication, we may finally see Lenovo bring some serious gaming hardware to the table.

Razer Edition gaming PCs are slated to launch sometime next year. Lenovo confirmed the demo system would be on display at its CES 2016 booth in January.

GamingIntuitive Method On How To Surf And Download Unlimitedly With Mtn's Music Mb by David4473(op): 11:26pm On Nov 27, 2015
I know you guys must have been hearing about the latest mtn music mb tweak for a while now. I was hesitant about it at first considering the size of the data which is 150mb,so i decided to chill and see how it turns out, i became obsessed with it after trying it out three days ago. Sincerely, it was the sms scheduler concept that made me consider using the tweak.

After successfully configuring your Sms scheduler, it'll automatically send a deactivation sms and then an activation Sms a minute after to the music mb short code (5900), thus making the tweak unlimited. Kudos to whomever can up with this idea!

Follow the steps below to start surfing and downloading in no time.

Note. make sure you have no airtime on your sim to avoid airtime deduction

To activate the music mb Text ''D'' to ''5900'' and ''cancel7d'' to ''5900'' to deactivate.

Once you've exhausted the 150mb given to you, you can repeat the step above as much as you want, just make sure you don't have airtime on your sim.

Dial ''*559*2#'' to check your data.

The above method is a bit stressful and annoying trust me, but worry not, cause Sms scheduler's got you covered. Download Sms scheduler Here and configure it with the settings below.

1. Launch the app and click on Schedule SMS
2. Type 5900 in the Phone number field
3. Type Cancel7D in the message box
4. Confirm your date and time
5. Choose your SMS sending interval (the time interval you think you can finish 150mb) I used 30mins in mine when i'm not downloading, but when i'm download i set it to 5mins, Save that.
6. Go back to the app and create another entry, And extend the time by a minute.
7. Type 5900 in the Phone number field, Type D in the message box, Confirm the date and save the sending interval to the interval you saved the first one.

Go to your phone's settings > Go to more > Go to mobile network > Go to access point names > Select MTN, Then create new APN and configure as shown below:

» APN Type: default
» APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
» Proxy: 127.0.0.1
» Port: 8080
» Save And Activate it as your default settings.

PhonesApple Music App For Android: First Impressions by David4473(op): 9:09pm On Nov 12, 2015
Apple's second app to hit the Google Play Store is here. Apple Music, the Cupertino company's answer to Spotify and Google Play Music, has launched for the first time on Android. But is it any good? Here are some first impressions that we've formed after trying our Apple Music Android app.

What is Apple Music?

Apple Music is a music streaming service that was launched on June 30, 2015. It integrates with Beats 1 internet radio, social platform Connect, and Radio, a slimmed down version of iTunes Radio.
This is only the second Apple app to reach the Google Play Store, the first being the poorly received Move to iOS app, and it's currently still in beta.

How does Apple Music app for Android work?

After downloading and installing the app, you are presented with a page that asks you to either start your three-month trial or sign in to your account, if you already subscribe to the service. When signing-in for the first time, you will be asked to select your favorite music genres and artists.

Selecting genres uses the same user-interface as on the iOS version. Styles are held inside pink bubbles, which you tap and hold for a genre you don't like, tap once for a genre you do like, and double tap for a genre you love. You will then be asked to do the same for artists.
Once this has been done, the landing page (ie the For You page) will be filled with personalized music recommendations based on your selected preferences.

Though you have access to the same services as Apple users do, the way they are presented on Android is slightly different. iOS has all of the the sections at the bottom of the screen, whereas Android uses the hamburger menu on the left-hand side. Almost all of the same features are available within the Android app, though it is currently missing music videos, which may be added once the app leaves beta.
The performance of the app is currently a little slow, and occasionally the radio will stop playing for no reason, but these bugs are likely to be ironed out when the full version is released.

Apple Music is a great service and if you're already a subscriber, being able to use it on your Android phone this will no doubt please you. There are still a few things Apple needs to sort out, naturally, but once it does, this app should easily deliver the same experience as the iOS version. The only question then is whether you want to invest in a Apple Music subscription. You can download it from the Google Play Store at the link.
Can’t decide on Apple Music, Spotify or Google Play Music? Hit the link for our comparison to help you weigh up your options.

Are you going to check out the Apple Music app? Have you tried it already? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
