Johntosyne: if it were to b xo, pple dat submited twice wud av seen disqualified after resubmiting, d tin is jst lyk wen ure reg into a syt nd u fill ur info nd u want to change sumfin and u click edit nd after editin u can nw click final submtn, sum1 here called d admtion office and he was told dat he can edit his acc even after final submitn..... Diz 1 is ui's admitn office ooo! Nd dats where we get genuine infosyou guys are right. If the the website doesn't want you to submit again after final submission then when you log in again you will not see final submission you'll only see print. I will liken the design to uploading your profile on Facebook. E.g if you made a mistake you can correct it and click final submission to upload it to database. If you correct a mistake without clicking final submission and the deadline passes. Your previous mistake will still remain there and no correction can be made again. |
Jossy4luv1: pls sir,dis is nt gud.u are jst making dis pple to loose hope and complicating issues.but he's saying the truth my brother. It's better for them to focus on their first choice for now and read hard. Though I know they will still call second choice candidates I advice them to be calm cos this is already causing a huge distraction for them. They better stay focused cos it won't be good for someone's effort this year to just go down the drain just because of one little distraction. |
Well most people have said it all. you don't even need to be a ui student to read the meaning of this admission process. If you are very familiar with the school website over the years you will know well. From 2013 result statistics only about 8000 candidates that chose the school as first choice scored 200 and above and also about another 7000 candidates that scored 200 and above chose them as second choice. This year depending on the school's admission policy this session they may set a given number of admission spaces to fill and invite the first choice candidates to test. At the end of the exercise depending on performance if that number was actualised or over they will not see any need inviting the second choice candidates. But if that number is not realized they may now call up the second choice candidates but will shortlist them. Also some courses may have their quota already filled by first choice candidates which may scupper the chances of second choice candidates already going for that course. That's why in some schools when 2nd list or 3rd list comes out you may not see people filling up courses that were already filled in the 1st list. So that's why the university said second choice candidates should always visit their website just in case. But don't lose hope guys God is in control. |
Dr.'Hesjay:well that's why it's a public thread. At first it's friendly then it becomes poluted with some people that are not civilized. Hope this one won't be the case. We're all here to help each other. |
Trendytessy: Hi every1,dis thread is no longer hospitable as it was at the start. Pls,u peepz shud mind how u reply to oda pipos questions to prevent exchange of words. Thankz.I tire oo I've relegated myself to just watching cos most people here are turning rude and abusive. |

UI daveojiyi@yahoo.com Sholani: Post-utme Past Questions And Answers For All Nigerian Students(FREE)!!! |
Lecture them well orelove4liff: It seems most pple dont knw d meanin of cut off mark of 180.it means d least mark to write post utme in any uni must nt be lower dan 180 but can be higher dependin on d score of candidates dat choose d respective institutn.dats y some schls wil place their own cut off to be 200,220 and even 240 and FG wont penalise dem |
You still dey beleive in connection at this age of freedom of information? ngozievergreen: Those with connections will still enter |
honfarouk: all na lie joor.http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/06/18/jamb-announces-utme-cut-off-marks/ |
orelove4liff: u knw they wil neva comply.dat national cut off mark is for d schls in d north.UI,OAU,UNILAG,UNIBEN etc wil neva accept anytin below 200.i approached OAU admissn officer and he said OAU wil rada cancel dis yr's admissn if no one score 200 and above in utmelolz |
Enetim: mehn! wit dis failure recorded,i tink sm university will nt hav post utme candidatethey will have na but few |
No mind them. The last time I saw someone that scored 111 even bragging that he supposed to score up to 270. Mtcheeww otokx: Where are all those people that were making noise in Nairaland? Some even claimed their teachers marked their question papers. A lazy man will always complain about one thing or the other. |
You sending me link don't you read between the lines? In respect to your first link at least they said they can't admit more than 5000 people but did they tell you their actual admission space and how do you know it's less than 3000. For your second link there is no information about 60:40 undergraduate postgraduate. The thing there is that ui cc is up to 5000 take it or leave it. How the space is shared between undergraduate and postgraduate that I may not know. Or is ui not run by Fed Govt of Nigeria again? The point I want u to make here is that ui can't admit up to 3000 or maybe up to 5000 undergraduate students that doesn't mean that their cc is not up to 5000. Let's keep sentiments aside. Dr.'Hesjay: |
Dr.'Hesjay:Guy I no be Ofe mmanu oo!!! and where u get dis ur 65;35 abi 70:30 from? abi u no de Blog too? I don't read blogs, I always like to get info from genuine sources not here say blogs or info. Anyhow sha I'll suggest any info we put here lets indicate the source for reference purposes so that people no go get confused oo. I'm a graduate of uniport doing my mph @ UI so are you trying to tell me that this school is way smaller than UPH? weird |
Adex097: can you please post the link to the site? (Jamb statistics website)http://www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme1/InstitutionStatisitics.aspx |
Lolz... One thing is that in a university environment every student has information. So prospective students on this forum remember information that is always shared here !!!MAY NOT!!! necessarily represent the views and position of the university. If you are confused or at loss about this informations I'll advice you to log on to their website www.ui.edu.ng or contact their admission office for further enquiries. Thanks pals |
Ui cc is 5000+ whether it's pgd+UG lets leave their admission policy to the senate and admission office. They know whats best for them kayking01: Yeah bozz i heard dat 2{30% 4 undergraduates n 70% 4 PGD peeps} |
Jossy4luv1: UI capacity is around 2500 and nt up to 3000 talkless of 5000..UI's main focus are the postgraduate peepsso are you trying to say that for example ABU which is the biggest university in Nigeria with CC of 7000+ happens to admit only 4000 students does it mean that the CC is 4000? Why do you think that people are criticising them for admitting few amount and not more people? |
Taylor184: don't let NUC dciv u,UI's capacity is 3000+guy NUC is correct cos they are the governing body it's just that ui like admitting the number of students they can cater for unlike other universities. Thats why a student of UI can be more relaxed in studying than a student from my former sch (Uniport) |
shakur07: Maybe isaac adewole don dey lie nao for wetin hn talk for matriculationThe reason you see that small amount of people matriculating is not because carrying capacity is low. It's just that UI usually shortlist very few people for post ume and out of those people few amount will score 50 and above in which if you score below that nothing for you. And again some people given another course they did not intend on doing end up not accepting the admission and that results to even fewer people |
shakur07: Are yhu sure of d UI carrying capacity cos d last tym i checked twas 3000 or a little more dan for both jambites and direct entry...Check the NUC website and see for yourself. There is no fed University that has a carrying capacity below 4000 except the new ones that was recently created |
From the statistics of results in jamb website in the just concluded 2013 exams only 14, 972 out of the people that chose UI scored 200 and above and since the carrying capacity of UI is 5720 they may want to invite everyone this year. Cos last year they invited only about 7000 people and only about 2000 were given admission which is half of the admission quota but now they said that they will looking to invite about 10,000-11,000 so that more people will get chance of admission. You can check their blog on the school website for more info. |
emekakelvin: i may be wrong sir,but i think d rite sudj comb is math ,english, economics nd govt,....or beta stil wait 4 a more xperience miss/master to tutor u on dsThe combination is ok you can be shortlisted just that you have to find out the general post ume exam for social sciences and prepare for that. |
Yeah man you are correct. No university judges people based on only one exams thats why most universities use aggregate to check for the consistency of the candidates in both exams. If you come to look at it most schools that consider only putme normally use high jamb cut off point to shortlist people. Dr.'Hesjay: |
Guys I advise you not to get carried away by what they tell you at the admission office. Just prepare yourself to score high and not based on what whether admission officer or vc tells you cos since it's not an official statement. From experience these people are full of surprises. They can tell you this and on that day you see a different thing entirely. Just prepare normally. |
