You did not tell us why your business boomed?
So over the years, i have built skill, knowledge, experience and network. I would volunteer for peoples projects, so i can gain knowledge and experience. I would take peanut pay to get to learn what was mere theory in school. My former boss for many years never bordered to pay my salary for years, he would only pay me daily allowance when i worked on site outside town till i eventually left and started to consult in my field. By that time i had good industry links, a good name people wanted to do business with and relevant experience needed by many investors. in 2020 i registered my company paid my tax and prayed hard and i tell you no lie, i have not seen anything that resembles hardship in Nigeria despite the hard times. No matter how hard the nation is, some people are in positions to always benefit no matter who is in power. I hope this answers your question?

Such write ups are annoyingly misleading. Which Abuja residents are you talking about?

The truth is that, things can't get better in this country until we take the pain to make hard changes and rebuild or build a functioning system. My business has boomed over the years not because I know people. In fact I don't even know a single person who has strong link to the previous or the present government, but because I developed my skill over the years and have worked with integrity, I have found favour and good fortune in my line of work. There are thousands of people who are just as skilled or even more skilled than IAM, yet plenty are hungry.

No matter the government in power and their policies. There will always be people who will be hungry and experience hard times.

The government of the day has been average in my opinion. While they have made some decisions in the right direction, they are also repeating old mistakes in other areas. Unfortunately, the political class will continue to recycle themselves all with the aim of securing their own interest

FamilyRe: Two Weeks To Her Wedding, Not A Single Friend Bought Her Aso Ebi! by davidque: 5:58pm On Dec 22, 2025
Glimpsetv:
A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her frustration after none of her friends bought her Asobi, just two weeks before her wedding.
According to her, despite all her friends being part of the Asobi WhatsApp group since October, not a single one has purchased her Asobi. She shared,
"Guys, see how wicked some people can be! My marriage is just a few weeks away, but these girls, none of them bought this Asobi. They’ve been in that WhatsApp group since October, and I even did Asobi for one of them!"

She revealed that almost 29 friends were involved, yet none have stepped up, leaving her feeling that her money has gone to waste.
The post has sparked various reactions online, with some suggesting that perhaps the Asobi is too expensive, which might explain why none of her friends have bought it yet.

The story is not complete. The friends may be protesting something. Its not likely that all her friends will be broke and unable to buy her aso ebi at the same time
Car TalkRe: How Nigerian Drivers Destroy Their Car Engines Without Knowing It by davidque: 5:50pm On Dec 22, 2025
NaijaCars234:
Fuel prices and maintenance costs are already high, but many drivers make a mistake that silently damages their engines. Skipping regular oil changes is the main cause of engine problems in Nigeria.

Engine oil lubricates moving parts, reduces friction, and keeps the engine cool. When oil is old or low, parts grind against each other, causing heat, wear, and reduced efficiency. This leads to higher fuel consumption and poor performance. If left unchecked, engine failure can cost hundreds of thousands of Naira to repair.

Some drivers wait until the engine makes strange noises or overheats before checking oil. Others use the wrong type of oil or extend the interval between oil changes beyond the manufacturer’s recommendation. All of these habits shorten engine life.

The solution is simple. Check your oil at least once a month and change it according to the schedule in your car manual. Use the recommended oil type and quality.

Drivers who follow this habit save fuel, avoid costly repairs, and keep their cars running smoothly on Nigerian roads. How often do you check your engine oil? Has it affected your car’s performance or fuel usage?
A good post

givedemwotowoto:
Tilumbu has rendered millions of Nigerians extremely poor within the past 2 years. People who were spending average 50k or less per week for their families now spend over 200,000 per week, with moderate or no increase in salary.
Please lets be very pragmatic. Would you have preferred that the hoax of a subsidy be retained and also that Nigeria continue to borrow to brace up the Naira? I really don't get it! The best minds in Nigeria touted this same economic actions during Goodluck's time, but foolish politician made politics out of it and now the same politicians now have to make the tough decisions that was a decade overdue. Buhari refused to make this bold steps because of politics, now Tinubu has no choice but to take the advice he once rejected. Its best that is done now and that subsidy is a problem created by successive governments now this one. I can only pray they succeed, rather than needless criticisms.

Try using your brain at least. Poverty in Nigeria is a generational thing not a 2 years presidency thing. Try to take leave of your bias for once so that you can assess thing properly

It is obvious u are still being fed. When they whr doing peaceful protest on the street. What did the government do because they are Igbos. The military was using them for shooting practice even in a school field. Then they decided to stay at home so that u don't see who to shot and kill. And u are now crying more than them.I guess u want them to start kidnapping school children for ransom so that government can come negotiate.
Nawa o! You seem to be completely missing the point and you aren't aware of it. You seem to be speaking more from your preconceived notions, not really responding or trying to see my reason to provide a logical counterview point. You saying Igbos protested and were being used as target practice is false and off point, not in line with what i was trying to convey to you. Also you keep saying I'm crying more than the bereaved. You don't have the faintest idea who i'm or where i'm from. The Niger Delta militants did not protest on streets as that will lead to their death (The government responds to such protest in the same way, not differently for the SE).

The SE has powerful individuals, home and abroad, they have got the majority of medium and large scale businesses in this country. There are many things they can use to muzzle the government into making concessions but no, they choose to self inflict and hoped for other to feel the pain. Anyway im tired of explaining a simple logic. Bye

DeLaRue:
Isn't that the former Osun State Governor's group.

Basically, ADC.

In the lead-up to 2027, the pressure on any significant SW personality that joins ADC will be unbearable. Even their family members will ask them, WHY?

I went to Ilesha 3 weeks ago, I was shocked that the Tinubu government has started reconstructing the Ilesha to Ibadan Road with concrete. And I hear the work will also head in the other direction from Ilesha to Benin. That's one incredibly long road, basically Benin to Ibadan.

Resurfacing with concrete also started from Shagamu and I am sure that will continue beyond Ijebu Ode. Another major Road project.

The entire stretch of the Ore - Akure Road is being reconstructed and expanded as we speak. Expansion and concrete work is proceeding at a fast rate. This is a road that only gets touched once in 30 years or more. Now, it not not only being touched, it is being expanded beyond recognition.

The funny thing is these major works are not even publicised by the government, and I hear similar major Road works are going on across all regions.

I doubt Nigeria has experienced the scale of Road works going on around the country in at least 40 years.

So it would be astounding and sheer wickedness for any SW person to say they want to replace Mr Tinubu that is doing so much with another Northern president so soon after Mr Buhari. So that many of these projects can be abandoned?
Get your facts right. The construction of that SECTION (Ilesha-Ibadan section) of the road was a pledge made by the newly coronated Owa of ijesaland, Oba Haastruup, a former duputy governor of Osun state and the current manager of ENL consortium who are heavily into construction. So that road was a pledge he made to his subjects not FG. FG may have come onboard as a PPP and for supervision but that road is Oba Haastruups project.

Kudos also goes to the FG foe showing some level of political seriousness when it comes to road construction. I pray they succeed at it
