Everyday, life opens a new chapter of life to us. My own chapter had been opened and and it read... "it time to get married.

In the church I attended, there I met this girl so mature enough to be taken in as a wife. I approach her for the first time and I started asking her out. Seem she knew my intention, she started asking me about my church life, my family, my business and all that not.

Nigerians have been protesting terrorism, banditry and kidnappings for years. Parents, journalists, activists and even ordinary citizens constantly raise awareness and pressure the government over these issues.



But it is dishonest to pretend xenophobia in South Africa is “fake” simply because every attack does not end in death.



Foreign owned shops have been looted repeatedly. Migrants have been threatened publicly. Politicians openly campaign against Africans from other countries. People have been burned, assaulted and displaced in previous waves of violence.



Two wrongs can be condemned at the same time.

You cannot demand “African unity” while constantly singling out one nationality as criminals. If Nigerians commit crimes in South Africa, arrest them individually.


Nigeria also arrests South Africans or other foreigners who break laws. That is how functioning societies work.


The idea that Nigerians only speak when South Africa is involved is false. Nigerians donate to victims, amplify missing children cases, criticize government failures daily and risk arrest during protests.


The world heard about #EndSARS because Nigerians themselves made noise.


And this comparison makes little sense: Kidnappings in Nigeria are a failure of the Nigerian state against Nigerians. Xenophobic attacks are hostility targeted at foreigners because of nationality.
