STUDENT UNIONISM: We all grew up to be told that we are the leaders of tomorrow. This mentality followed us to university and polytechnics, where we actually played our first politics. If you ever practiced unionism from Departmental to SUG level, then you would know that Nigeria political failure all started from our campuses. There is so much money in student unionism that students die for it. This is why you see grandpa contesting to be NANS President. Truth is they have nothing to offer. They are there for the money. The true progressive who mean well never wins. The cabal have long been designed to frustrate them. The cabals are the students themselves. They are the ones who leave school and come to preach democracy when they never practiced it in school. Many well meaning Nigeria students believes to win election in school, the norm is to join a cult. If you are not and you win, you are not likely to complete your tenure. But i can vehemently tell you that this perspective is wrong, I know alot of students union presidents, secretary generals, and welfare directors who led students struggle without cult affiliation. The four most lucrative posts, President, Secretary General, Financial secretary and Director of Welfare are reserved for the kingpins. Even the school management determines who win these positions. Unionism is activism but today its the worst scene on campus and i think if you fail in your first assignment as a leader there's no magic that you will be right in future. One thing i have grown to understand is that those who spend heavily for campaign don't win elections. Most qualified students fails to run for students unionism because of the fear of belonging to cult group and fear of expulsions and love of their certificate. I The system cannot afford rebels in power. They cannot afford to have someone who has a mind of his own and the people in power. The very Students you think are sane are the same persons that will frustrate you and used against you. Yet they are the leaders of tomorrow. They will be the INEC Commissioners and politicians and yet you expect a better Nigeria. To take back Nigeria, you must take back the university/polytechnic from the student cabals. You cannot take back NASS or think of going against the Senators when the next ones are in SRC doctoring records and fixing decoder in the SUG building and telling fellow students that a GOtv decoder of N6800 was fixed for N1.2 million. You see members of SRC fighting themselves, not because of Students Welfare but because of Sitting Allowance. This allowance is the only thing student officials thinks and talk about in our institutions. So very unfortunate. To make matter worst, they are dogs that eats dog. Management uses them against themselves. The rot starts from the very university/polytechnic not the National Assembly. How students will seat down and be paid bogus allowances for doing nothing is what we should first stop before occupying NASS. These are same students that will graduate to be legislators later and you think Nigeria will be better. The root of corruption starts from Student unionism and until we clear such Aegean Stable, join no one any longer to blame Saraki and Co. They are all products of Student politics. Finally I want to state categorically that not all comrades are cultist, not all SUG president, vice president, secretary general etc belongs to cult group. On this note,Am inviting all well meaning ,vibrant, and patrotic Nigerian students to National Youths Assembly Of Nigeria(NYAN).In NYAN we promotes patriotism, good governance, fight corruption and mainstream youths into politics.we believe we must change the dynamics that youths are the leaders of tomorrow rather we are leaders of today and builders of tomorrow. As our slogan connotes 'MY VOICE MY POWER'.we believe our highest tools should be our voice.join us today and be trained on how to handle leadership positions effectively. APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT. Over the last couple of days, the media has been awash with one of the most frivolous, creepy and outlandish blackmail efforts, targeting the good name of Apostle Johnson Suleman. It is no surprising that this recent intimidation attempt is coming weeks after the DSS brouhaha. It is however very important that we educate the public regarding certain facts: To start with, Apostle Johnson Suleman has never had any face-to-face contact with the said lady. The stories she is selling to public exists only in her thoughts and in the imaginations of her paymasters. The said lady reached out to the Apostle and appealed for help to quit her prostituting lifestyle, and the Apostle provided help to her, with the knowledge and express permission of his wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman. There was nothing exceptional about her case, as Apostle Johnson Suleman and his wife are well-known for their good heart in helping the needy by the grace of God. While help was being rendered to the said lady, she never had the privilege of having a face-to-face physical contact directly with the Apostle. Over a month ago, the said lady and her boyfriend tried reaching out to the Apostle with threat to blackmail him, and the Apostle encouraged them to go ahead. The Apostle reported the situation to security agencies who have been on the trail of the lady and finally got her questioned and arrested. The sting operation that got the said lady and her boyfriend arrested was planned and executed by the law enforcement officers, and not by Apostle Johnson Suleman or his team. It is evident to all and sundry that this blackmail effort is politically engineered at humiliating the Apostle and muzzling him from speaking for the Christian community. This obviously is the next plan on their evil scheme. It will fail colossally. As part of their strategy, they believe when you blackmail a respected man of God with issues relating to immorality, his supporters will dissert him, and then it will become easier for the attackers to launch the next phase of their plans against the body of Christ and her leaders. But, we wish to let them know, we stand more united than ever, and no attempt to blackmail or intimidate Apostle Johnson Suleman or any leader of the Christian community will yield any positive result for them. This recent attempt will fail like others. It is not surprising that the principal media platform being used for this mindless blackmail effort is ‘Sahara Reporters’, an online media platform reputed for blackmail, intimidation and malicious propaganda stories. It is no news that Sahara Reporters has no credibility within Nigeria and beyond, and no responsible individual or media house takes seriously any information originating from their platform. The publisher of the jest called ‘Sahara Reporters’ was only recently publicly disgraced and arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos – Nigeria, and subsequently dragged to court for allegations bothering on blackmail, criminal defamation and threat to life by one Leka Fatodu. Interestingly, the co-blackmailer that was equally crafted for this poorly strategized job is the legendary blackmailer and failed legal practitioner, Mr. Festus Keyamo. This is a lawyer who has no credibility, authority or reliability in the community of lawyers in Nigeria. Nothing associated with him is ever taken with importance. Little wonder the government of Nigeria has continually overlooked him as others (including his juniors) are honored as members of SAN (Senior Advocate of Nigeria). Obviously, giving him such honour to him will be tantamount to legalizing a felonious and morally bankrupt personality. This much explains the morally bankrupt character of some of the individuals fronting with this blackmail tale. We wish to reassure the public that this demonic and callous attempt at ridiculing and blackmailing Apostle Johnson Suleman will fail just like others. Let’s not be distracted by Photoshop images being circulated by these blackmailers and their paymasters. The sponsors of this disdainful and sardonic act have an agenda; to discredit Apostle Johnson Suleman, so he won’t have a voice to speak for and on behalf of the body of Christ like he has always fearlessly done, and they also seek to cause division and confusion within the body of Christ. They believe that when you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. However, let it be known to them that we are smarter, wiser and stronger than they imagine. Our confidence remains on God’s word in Psalms 27:1-3: “The lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the enemies, even mine enemies and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear, though war should arise against me, in this will I be confident.” Let’s continue praying for Apostle Johnson Suleman. Let’s continue praying for the Church. Indeed, we are winning! Thank you. Dr. Sule Emmanuel Director of Media, Omega Fire Ministry Int’l. |
INAUGURAL SPEECH OF THE NEWLY SWORN IN NATIONAL SPEAKER OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA (NYAN) AMB AKHIGBE OLUMHENSE, DELIVERED ON THE 25TH February, 2017 AT RAW MATERIALS BANQUET HALL, MAITAMA, ABUJA. His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Turakin Adamawa) Chairman of the Occassion, Governors here present, National Assembly Members present, S.A. to the President here Present, Special Guest of Honours, Guest of Honor, Guest Speakers, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, NYAN Speaker Emeritus, other NYAN Ambassadors and members, other Youth Leaders here present, Ladies and Gentlemen. Today the Nigerian Youth is making History with the inauguration of my humble self as the 3rd Speaker of NYAN, Today I have been given the mandate to build a credible youth voice for Nigeria Youths, NYAN is leading a revolution in the Youth Movement in Nigeria. We believe we must change the dynamics of saying youth are the leaders of Tomorrow, we are rather, the leaders of Today, and the builders of Tomorrow. We want to build youth who will not wait and think they should be paid to come discuss their future, we must not go about begging for money and mortgaging our future in the Name of using youth to make money. NYAN is very different and unique; we are raising the bar, and trying to ensure that Nigerians youth can always meet to discuss the future of the country, with or without sponsors. The National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN) the Nigerian youth independent command organ focused on galvanizing Nigerian youth across the country and harnessing youths potential towards National Development and good citizenship. We are committed to youth development and National peace and unity in Nigerian project. The National youth Assembly is structured after the legislative protocol with each state of the federation represented by youth ambassadors and LGA coordinators. We wish to make NYAN a household name in the Nigerian project, to achieve this we need committed efforts by all stakeholders like all of you . In 2017, we want to ensure monthly or bimonthly state sitting in the 36 states of Nigeria, hold regional youth summit in the six geopolitical zones, organize quarterly National seminar and sittings, hold regular press conferences or issue press releases on burning national issues. Our desire is to speak for the generality of Nigerian Youth, so we remain apolitical, you can belong or support any party of your choice, but when we get to NYAN we try to play down your party position and rather talk patriotically for Nigerian youth and our future. We are not for government or against government; we support good government policies and advise when we feel the policy is not good. NYAN remains the only National youth group owned by the youth, sponsored by the youth, directed by the youth to build a better future for the youth of Nigeria. Our vision is to promote patriotism, good citizenship, fight corruption, and ensure that youth are mainstreamed into politics, employment for youth and proper value re-orientation for the youth. The task ahead of us is great, but it is possible if we really believe and work in Unity, as nobody will build Nigeria for us, except us. In 2017, we look forward to having a youth TV show and regular media engagement. We need the support of media to publicize our National Speech competition, National youth beauty peagent , National Essay Competition, and NYAN National Youth Submit, all planned for 2017 to positively reorient the youth and position Nigeria for greatness. our dream is to have a youth population that is not money conscious, praise singers and political thugs, but rather to have youth that are visionary, innovative, patriotic and selfless in serving Nigeria. NYAN is innovative, we don’t run after politicians for money, we are selfless, we fund our activities ourselves and support for genuine youth loving individuals, but we love our country enough to know that the growth of Nigeria depends on us. As a way of promoting youth mainstreaming in politics, NYAN has drafted a bill, called Political Office Holders Age Limitation Bill 2016, which we are sending to the National Assembly, it is a bill to help the youth to get into politics, since the older people will be mandated to retire at a certain age to give the youth a chance. At NYAN, we don’t believe in Agonizing, but rather organizing ourselves to help solve the Nigeria Problem. We seek media support to publicise the bill. Finally, as a voice empowered by this Inauguration, I call on the South Africa Government and the people of South Africa to do everything humanly possible to stop the senseless killing of Nigerians, the Nigerian Youth will not take it likely for the xenophobic attack is becoming continuously recurring and we need to take drastic action to stop the dastardly act. We urge our Federal Government to send a strong message to the South Africa Government , they must know that the life of any Nigeria Citizen matters. Nigerian fought for their liberation, contributed money for their freedom, it is sad to pay us back by killing our Citizens. Nigerian Youth will react if nothing is done urgently. THANK YOU ALL AMB AKHIGBE OLUMHENSE NATIONAL SPEAKER (08036660387, 08055183610) (freevoice47@ya hoo.com, www.nyannigeria .com)

NIGERIAN AND PLAGIARISM I woke up this morning with this big question ringing in my head "WHEN WILL PLAGIARISM STOPS IN NIGERIA" It has become a virus eating up Nigeria educational sector.I bleeds inside me whenever i see Nigeria youths broadcasting or propagating essay or materials without referencing the original writer or author. Plagiarism has taken over virtually every sector in Nigeria. Lecturers in tertiary institutions across Nigeria no longer do proper research on material before carrying out any project, all they do now is go online, gets already made work and eventually claim total ownership of such work without citing reference to the original author or writer. I can boldly say 40% of text books or journal written by Nigeria authors are plagiarized. How will plagiarism stops when Nigerian youths now broadcast jokes, motivational speeches, articles on social media(Facebook, whatsaap et al) and edits it into their own name. Few months ago,i wrote an unpublished article on NIGERIAN YOUTH AND SPORTS BETTING but it was hilarious and ridiculous when i saw that particular article(word to word) on a popular Nigeria blog with my friend's name as the writer. Hmmmmmmm, Nigeria kilode?. I reliably gather information yesterday on how president mohamadu buhari plagiarized president Barack Obama's 2008 victory speech during his change begins with me campaign.what an hilarious way to begin change with you, why not title it plagiarism begins with me, smiles.there's nothing we will not see in Nigeria, a president plagiarizing another president's speech. How do u expect Nigerian to believe on ur campaign when you started it with a plagiarized paragraph? As a youth ambassador and an advocate of fairness,i believe there are penalties for people who violates the Nigeria plagiarism law. Am using this medium to call on all lawmakers(legislators) and other appropriate bodies to review this laws and curbs plagiarism before it kills our educational sector. As a member of National youth Assembly of Nigeria(NYAN) as our slogan connotes my voice is my power.Am calling on every vibrant youth to join this movement and lets make a better Nigeria. LIFE SUCCESS IS NOT ALL ABOUT YOUR CERTIFICATE Its no longer a news that Nigeria is one of the largest and most populous Nation in Africa with a population of over 160million people. More pathetic however is the fact that our educational standard have been bastardize such that we have a lot of talented engineers yet we still import refrigerators and other electronics from Asia, we have a lot of qualified medical doctors yet Nigerian and even our leaders still go to Asia and Europe for medical treatment and mere check-up, we have a lot of experienced economist yet our state of economy get worst everyday. As Nigerian youths its time to think what we can give to the nation, its not all about what the nation we give to us. I reliably gathered information of how the president of south Korea refuse to convocate some sets of engineers, asking them to come up with a product to prove them as real engineers. The entire student went back to their drawing board after six month they came up with the SAMSUNG which is an household name today. In 1994,two young men DAVID FILO and JERRY YANG while student Stamford university came up with the YAHOO Two years after the launching of yahoo to the world, two other doctorate student from the same university SERGEY BRIN and LARRY PAGE came up with the largest search engine in the world called GOOGLE.Then a wise man said some make things happen while others watch things happen. Those that make things happen are called STARS while those that watch things happen are called SPECTATORS. Every human on earth has God given talent in him/her.its either you can write or you can sing, you can dance or you can do one thing or the other.Discover that in-built talent in you and create a room for its performance.
