Politics / Nigeria Not Mature Enough For State Police- Asemota by davo80(m): 5:47pm On Jul 12, 2018
Nigeria not mature enough for state police- Asemota
Public affair analyst Arch. Asemota O Asemota has faulted the propose creation of state police. He said creation of state police with do more harm to our already porous security system.
Asemota make this remark in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos on Thursday.
He said " with the recent security challenges in the country, couple with series of attacks across Nigeria especially our rural areas, many security analyst has come out to propose state policing as the probably solutions but I disagree with this. Nigeria as a country is not mature enough for state police, from administration to implementation.
How do we entrust the administration of a security of a state in the hands of a governor who has not been able to pay civil servants salaries for good 8months and expect proper policing and good discharge of duties? He added
He went further to say "the major challenge that confronts Nigeria as a nation on the implementation of state police is what I would want to call the secret motive or agenda by the state governors who would be charged with the duty of financing this apparatus. History and recent events and utterances have shown that the current crop of politicians we have at the helm if affairs in Nigeria would stop at nothing in manipulating and using this state police in vendetta mission, oppression, intimidation and all sorts of social vices, especially during electioneering periods".
Take the happenings in Ekiti state as a case study, we've seen state governors and ministers who have affiliations to the powers at the center, boast of taming, caging and degrading opposition parties because they feel they have the security architecture at their beck and call. We've even seen a sitting governor come out to accuse the police force of beating him up. This is unheard of in the history of democracy in Nigeria. So as you can see, judging from experience, the call for state policing might seem tempting when you confront it with the current security challenges in the country. But on the contrary, the thought of the extent to which they'll be used and manipulated against even the common citizens perceived to be against the policies of the state government is better left unsaid. The aftermath or should I say adverse effect of state policing is too great a risk for Nigeria to embark on,especially at the very fragile stage of our democracy where politicians no longer see the masses as the fate deciders rather they've taken victory at the poll to be a do or die affair. Power tussle among politicians in our various states alone, is capable of causing more security worries" he added.
Suggesting a way to end security in Nigeria, Asemota call on the president to replace his service chiefs with competent hands. He said "The president has given the the service chiefs time enough, and over and over again, they've just proved how incompetent they can be. So sack them all and replace them with competent and detribalized men, who'll put the interest of the country first above the interest of any ethnic or religious groups.
He also call on the president to give more priority to the welfare of Nigeria police and other armed forces.

Politics / Herdsmen Killings: Asemota Blast Presidency Over Statement On Herdsmen Killings. by davo80(m): 6:05pm On Jul 05, 2018
Herdsmen killings: Asemota blast presidency over statement on Herdsmen killings.

Popular Lagos based Architect and public affair analyst Arc. Asemota O Asemota, has said "Mr Femi Adesina has clearly shown that the government of the day are sympathetic to the Fulani herdsmen causing these carnages round the country, while they have also come out to show solidarity for the land grabbers", after the Nigerian Presidency, through presidential spokesman Femi Adesina, when he spoke on an AIT morning programme. Responding to a question on ancestral attachments to land which would be very difficult to give up to herdsmen for ranching, Adesina said “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive. If you are talking about ancestral attachment,if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? He also said "Being alive is better than ancestral attachment to land".

This was contained in a statement released on Thursday and signed by his media aide, Itseore David Benjamin.

"I was shocked that such utterances came out from a man with such a high ranking office. I wondered for a while if Mr Femi Adesina is actually unprofessional or he was Simply being mischievous".
"To worsen the case, this statement came in on the back drop of the backlashes he got for comparing the scores of death under the previous administrations to that of the present administration as though the sanctity of life means nothing to Nigerians anymore". He added.
Mr Asemota also said "In clear terms, what Mr Femi Adesina said was Surrender your ancestral lands or continue dying. This statement is most unfortunate, and to think it is coming from a presidential spokesman who has spent a better part of his appointment years trying to prove and convince a vast majority of the masses that the Buhari led administration is not a bigoted one is even more regrettable".
He went on to say "I therefore lend my voice to the millions of voices already raised,in condemning in the strongest possible terms this statement attributed to the presidency. It is barbaric, wicked, bigoted, tyrannical, dictatorial and to say the least, it is capable of further worsening the wounds of discord, and the feelings of marginalization currently being sang in the country".

"I therefore urge Mr Femi Adesina, and the entire presidency to tender an unreserved apology to the generality of Nigerians for insulting our collective sensibilities, and for adding salt to the injuries of those whom these land grabbers in the form of herdsmen have inflicted everlasting scarce upon, stating clearly that such utterances will never repeat itself again".
"Also, in a search for redemption, the presidency should do all it takes to make sure all the lands that have been forcefully coerced from anybody by this land grabbers is swiftly returned to the rightful owners, and the offenders made to face the full wrath of the law". He said.

Politics / The Blasphemous Declaration By Pmb by davo80(m): 1:12pm On Jun 08, 2018
*THE BLASPHEMOUS DECLARATION BY PMB*

In Falz voice,This is Nigeria, where irrelevant things make headlines and the government counts it as achievement to the amusement of its many educated yet fantastically gullible, extremely hungry and depressed followers.

Just yesterday, president Muhammadu Buhari announced to the world that DemoCRAZY day in Nigeria has been changed from May 29th to June 12th in remembrance of the late Chief MKO Abiola. He didn't just stop at that as he further went on to confer on him the highest honors in the land. The title of the GCFR. He didn't just stop there as he further went on to confer on Chief Gani Fawehinmi the title of the GCON which also happens to be the second highest title in the land.

When I came across this announcement, there was a certain outrage that took over me. The first thought that came to mind was SACRILEGE. Immediately,I went online to see the reactions of a very brilliant country and my expectations were set on the fact that the federal government will getting serious backlashes for bringing the names of two Great and selfless men into the dirty politics of the day. Alas,I was online and my expectations were cut short when the reverse was the case.

Instead of properly analyzing the motives behind this act, instead of asking serious questions like" Is this what we need in Nigeria at this point" and instead of condemning in very strong terms this abominable and blasphemous act by the federal government, what I saw was a Nation dancing unclad to the disgraceful drum beats being played by the federal government.

With all due respect to MKO and Chief GANI,I stand to rebuke the federal government for this act and also bring to the front line some questions that have been on my mind since then.

Is this truly what we need at this critical time as a nation? Will this conferment on this men actually change the current plight in the country? Will this conferment reduce the cost of transportation in the country? Will this conferment reduce the prices of essential commodities that have been at an all time high for the past 3 years in the market? Will this conferment bring to an abrupt end the insurgency in the north East? Will this conferment finally put to an end the incessant killings currently going on in the middle belt by rampaging herdsmen? Will this conferment solve the electricity riddle of the nation?By the virtue of this conferment, will the standards of our educational and health sector improve significantly?will this conferment improve the general standard of living in Nigeria?
If the answers to all these questions are NO,then I ask again "of what essence is this conferment"?

Going further, I was tempted to ask myself " would MKO and chief Gani actually have accepted this honors were they to be alive in the midst of all these irregularities, poverty, hatred, killings, insecurity and joblessness currently plaguing the nation today"? Are we as a nation living up to the dreams and expectations of this two Great men? If not, then I am compelled to say instead of honoring their memories like the government is claiming to do,I am of the opinion that their memories have been greatly insulted. I have no doubt in my heart that Chief MKO and chief Gani would have bluntly rejected these honors if they were to be alive to witness the calamity currently going on in Nigeria and it wouldn't have been the first time such rejections would have been bequeathed to Nigeria. Its still fresh in my memory, how literature Guru, late Chinnua Achebe rejected the national honors conferred on him by what he described as a failed state.

If the "Achebe treatment" would have been their reactions, then why should any sane and responsible person confer on these great men what they would have rejected if they were to be alive? To me,this is sacrilegious.

For the benefits of those who have not been too acquainted with history,Late chief MKO Abiola was the Winner of the June 12 1993 free and fair elections. He was about to be rigged of his victory by Gen Ibrahim Babangida when he decided to take his destiny into his own hands by announcing himself as the winner of the elections. For this crime,he was arrested and jailed by Gen sani Abacha. Chief MKO Abiola eventually died in jail. Now, the interesting fact about this little history is that Gen Muhammadu Buhari was a serving minister of petroleum under the Abacha regime. The same regime that jailed and killed chief Abiola that Mr Buhari is honoring today. Just last month,President Buhari reaffirmed a statement earlier attributed to him that "Abacha is the best leader Nigeria have had" the same Abacha whose loots are still drooling into the country from foreign nations in unprintable figures, the same Abacha who jailed and killed MKO,the same MKO whom buhari's government is ridiculing today with such blasphemous and politically motivated title.

From the inception of our independence, the elites in Nigeria have taken Nigerians to be ignoramus whose problems can be solved by giving them a pinch of honey out of the abundance of honey we have in the land, and this status quo has remained so because over and again, the common Nigerian has proven to be an easy pun in the hands of this elites. Will anyone in his right senses not know that this move is politically motivated just to garner votes from the southwest come 2019? Else why wait till barely 8months to the next general elections to carryout this blasphemous "Patriotic" act?

Why do Nigerians keep leaving in self denial? The better part of this mediocrity is yet to be seen. It'll be unveiled when the 2019 presidential campaigns would be in full gear and this MEDIOCRITY will be listed as an achievement of this blasphemous government.
Nigeria,a country so blessed with rich and sound minds, keeps leaving in self denial because of greed,Ego,religious and ethnic sentiments. For how long shall we continue to allow these men ride us like horses? For how long until we spark a revolution that will forever change the fortunes of this country for good? for how long before we start focussing on the relevant things while we do away with the irrelevant?

At this juncture, permit me to air my disappointment at the level of accolades this MEDIOCRITY has been getting. If we all agree that this conferment wouldn't better the lives of the common man in the streets,or those living under the bridges and in the market places for lack of funds to afford proper housing, since this conferment wouldn't improve the education, electricity, health, security, transport sectors and the general standard of living in Nigeria as a whole, then I make bold to say its an achievement not worth celebrating. We can only celebrate these Great men when we start working in accordance to the blueprint they've laid down for the Nation. Little wonder Barr. Folarin Falana aka Falz accused all Nigerians of being CRIMINALS. Of a truth, every movement of the government, always has a criminal motive and "THIS"is one of such cases as it is aimed at stealing unmerited votes from the southwest.

Politics / CORRUPTION:PMB'S Anticorruption Fight by davo80(m): 8:46pm On May 20, 2018
CORRUPTION:
President Mohammadu Buhari's Anticorruption Fights

Let's broaden our opinion on what corruption truly means and what it's all about. Corruption has been the most spoken dictionary word in our country Nigeria since 2014. This is not surprising considering the fact that it also happens to be the favorite word (or perhaps only word) our incumbent president finds comfort in pronouncing.
Follow me as we dissect, pinpoint and bisect the true meaning of corruption, and at the end of the day, liken it to integrity and also the "Mr Integrity" we have in our country Nigeria.

Sometime in 2014 when the then president Jonathan tried to explain to us that "stealing isn't all that corruption is about" we all took it out of context and bashed him for saying "stealing is not corruption" but 3 years down the line,I now have a vivid understanding that of a truth, stealing is only a tiny and insignificant fragment of the word corruption.

I came to this realisation by learning the hard way from this present administration and by studying the character of "Mr integrity". Permit me to say that corruption is perhaps the word with the broadest definition in the dictionary. I say this because all the sins of man can be likened and described as corruption. Now,can anyone of us honestly single out a word from the dictionary that can be used to sum up the numerous sins of man? Believe me,that word has to be corruption. Permit me to outline a few, out of the numerous sins of "Mr integrity " in a bid to expose his lack of integrity and corrupt lifestyle with the hope of at least changing some myopic and sycophantic mindsets who have narrowed down corruption to stealing alone.

A man who lies, is classified as being corrupt and therefore lacks integrity. (Mr integrity, show us your WAEC certificate). Hiring Numerous SANS to defend you when you are suppose to present your WAEC certificate is corruption.

A man who is nepotistic in his appointments is classified as being corrupt and therefore lacks integrity..Mr integrity, show us the men heading all the security apparatus of this country under your administration and lets see if you are really patriotic as you claim.
A man who walks in the counsel of the ungodly, also has in himself ungodliness. (Mr integrity, show us your political allies and let's be the judge. Th likes of Rotimi Amaechi, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, David Babachair Lawal et,al are your political allies and as a matter of fact, they all wine and dine with you.
A man who sees evil and fails to call it by its name is corrupt and therefore lacks integrity. Mr integrity, why are the Fulani terrorist group yet to be proscribed?
A man who is guilty of hypocrisy can easily be classified as being corrupt. Mr integrity, If you breed laziness in your house in the form of Mr Yusuf "the bike rider" and never deemed it fit to publicly call him LAZY,why else would you insult the sensibilities of the hardworking Nigerian youths by calling them Lazy?
A man who says one thing today and denies it tomorrow is also on top of the food chain of corruption and therefore lacks integrity. Mr integrity, since when has medical tourism become normal? I believe it was corruption before you became president and became normal right after you became president.
A man who lies just to get votes from electorates is also classified corrupt and therefore unfit for the title of Mr integrity. Mr integrity, we're still waiting on you to declare your asset publicly up to the very last details of your shares in all the banks.
A man who is considered barbaric has in him a high corruption syndrome and is therefore devoid of integrity. Mr integrity, For how long would the people of Benue,Taraba, Plateau, and Nasarawa get killed before you unleash the military might on their killers like you did to the independent people of biafra?
A man who lacks respect for the rule of law is considered corrupt and is also unfit for the title of Mr integrity. Mr integrity, why is Sambo Dasuki still in prison after several court orders to set him free? Why is El Zazaky still in prison?

A man who boycotts constitutional processes is considered corrupt and lacks integrity. Mr integrity,How did we purchase our Turcano jets from the US without due approval by the national assembly as enshrined in our constitution?

The sins of Mr integrity are too numerous to keep outlining but I hope this few points above actually sends a message to someone out there that one Mr integrity is somewhere living and basking in self delusion that he's the only saint who is suitable to lead Nigeria to the promised land.

I also hope this drives a point to you reading this that the word CORRUPTION goes far beyond a petty thief. of course, stealing is corruption, but it's almost an insignificant fraction of what the word corruption truly means. So I beg you all to cross check the aforementioned next time before you refer to anyone as corrupt free or Mr integrity. If he or she is found wanting on any of the above counts, then he/she isn't suitable for the title of Mr/Mrs integrity.

PS: You don't go dining and playing with pigs and expect to come out of it as tidy as you went in.
Go get your PVC. A word is enough for the wise.

Religion / Apostle Suleman Gives Life Support To Ailing Idan Irawo Producer, Kunle Agboola by davo80(m): 11:19am On Feb 01, 2018
Apostle Suleman gives life support to ailing idan Irawo producer, Kunle Agboola

The man of God and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleiman practically came to the rescue of the ailing media guru and producer of the popular fans teeming Yoruba programme, Idan Irawo, Kunle Agboola who has been battling with a nagging kidney disease for a while now. The committee of friends of the media practitioner, according to sources had made frantic efforts to reach out to the man whose passion for humanity is second to none for an urgent need to raise funds for his dialysis and eventual kidney transplant which medical experts have warned must be very soon, if the man must live. It is on this premise that,
an SoS message was sent to Apostle Suleiman’s direct line who responded promptly and doled out an initial five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) while promising to do more.

We gathered the man of God was so passionate about the cause that he requested to pray for the ailing producer and later promised to set off the bill for the kidney transplant.

“Just be courageous, you will not die, the angels of the Lord are with you, please manage this half a million for the medical urgencies, we shall talk later through the representative of your committee of friends”, he gave Mr. Agboola rays of hope through prayers and financial promises. It will be recalled that,

the indefatigable producer has been down with a chronic kidney ailment for a while and several media practitioners and firms such as AIT, Tiwantiwa TV, DSTV and celebrities like Mercy Aigbe and so on have taken it upon themselves to run fund raising campaigns via their respective social media handles.

I was used and paid against Apostle Suleman. The only offense he committed was to have intervened in the numerous heinous crimes against the Church of Christ around the Nation and became a Voice for the Gospel. What followed was a well - doctored drama to attack the reputation of this Golden Voice and seemingly reduce the volume of his voice even as more evils were planned against the Church. After all the evil efforts, the secret agendas, the heavily funded set up and the unrelenting pursuits to snare an innocent man, they were futile. Apostle Suleman Gifts Elderly Pastor N1Million And Places His Son On Scholarship

Apostle Suleman gifts elderly pastor 1 million naira and places his son on scholarship In what is now the talk of the town in Nnewi, renowned evangelist and preacher, Apostle Johnson Suleman gifted an elderly man who is also a pastor 1 million naira.
This happened as he concludes his 2 days Apostolic Visit to the Community. The crusade which is tagged HELP FROM ABOVE kicked off on Tuesday 14th and ended Wednesday 15th November. He had earlier located the pastor through a prophetic revelation where he saluted his diligence in working on The Lord's Vineyard for years where he stood for God and followed His dictates. He also identified the man's present medical challenge where he has been in and out of the hospital for a while now due to an attack. The man of God prayed for him and rebuked the infirmity. Education / Auchi Polytechnic Students Demands Justice For Student That Was Killed by davo80(m): 11:41pm On Nov 14, 2017
Murder Of Auchi Poly Student, Miss Lawrenta Apaume Uloko-a Call For Justice: 5:15pm On Nov 10 Students’ Union Government (SUG), Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State. 6 th November, 2017. The Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Secretariat, FCT-Abuja Sir, THE GRUESOME MURDER OF AUCHI POLYTECHNIC STUDENT, MISS LAWRENTA APAUME ULOKO – A CALL FOR JUSTICE. Introduction; You may recall that the Students’ Union Government of this institution has in a publication on the Vanguard Newspaper of 30 th October, 2017 complained to the Honourable Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu to come to the students’ aid and prevail on the Acting Rector of the Institution, Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah to withdraw the heavily armed hunters, thugs and the military men from the 195 Battalion Barracks,, Agenebode from the campuses, where they shoot at students from close range while whipping them like animals. The Acting Rector had on the 9 th of October, 2017 brought in the heavily armed hunters, thugs and military men with over five (5) Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) to the institution, following a peaceful protest by the students over the “No SUG Election, No Examination” notice issued by the students to the management of the institution. These armed gunmen unleashed mayhem and serious torture on the students. The Students’ Union Government President was beaten into a pulp and taken away by the vigilante and hunters to the police station. what a modernized apartheid regime.? WITHDRAWAL OF THE MILITARY MEN AND THEIR ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIERS. Following the students outcry on the social media and the organization of press conferences at the NUJ Secretariat in Benin City, Edo State and the support from different interest groups, the Acting Rector, Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah stylishly withdrew the military men and their ammunitions from both campuses of the institution, leaving the heavily armed hunters and thugs under the aegis of Auchi Vigilante group to continue their nefarious activities in both campuses of the institution. THE INSTITUTIONS PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (PRO) MR. MUSTAPHA OSHIOBUGIE AND HIS PATHOLOGICAL MENDACITY Mr. Mustapha Oshiobugie, the PRO of the institution had on different occasions as directed and instructed by his principal, the Acting Rector, Dr. Sanusi Momoh Jimah, refuted our overwhelming fact- filled claim in both the print and electronic media. It is very shameful, disappointing, disheartening and worrisome to note that Mr. Mustapha Oshiobugie and Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah, PRO and Acting Rector respectively of the institution, who are supposed to be fathers and uncles to children like us, can be so mendacious to the Federal Government of Nigeria, especially the relevant agencies who would have swung into action to prevent Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah and his blood-thirsty hunters and thugs from killing the Nigerian Students like Rabbits, Squirrels and Grasscutters OPERATIONAL BASE OF THE HEAVILY ARMED GUNMEN – HUNTERS, THUGS ETC. A particular tree directly opposite the New Auditorium of the institution, few metres away from the main gate was earmarked and graciously allocated to them as their operational base by the Acting Rector, Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah, wherein students are molested and whipped like what obtained during the Rewanda genocide “The Hutus vs The Tutsi” or apartheid regime in South Africa. These gunmen had various pseudo inscriptions on their Pick-Up Hilux Vehicles, like Auchi Hunters Association, Auchi Vigilante Group, etc as they brandish sophisticated arms like AK47, Pump Action and Cut-to- Size Double Barrel guns. REDEPLOYMENT OF GUNMEN TO DIFFERENT STRATEGIC LOCATIONS AFTER THE EXAMINATION Upon the completion of the examination which was written by students under siege and palpable fear, one would have taught that students would therefore heave a sigh of relief from the torture and intimidation from these gunmen. To our amazement, they occupied almost every hostel extorting and preventing graduates from celebrating their graduation and freedom from hunters and thugs molestation in Auchi Polytechnic, which is very alien to the institution. They were conspisciously available and well-armed at strategic places with some of them heavily drunk and shooting sporadically into the air. THE TRAGIC AND PAINFUL EXIT OF AN HND II BANKING AND FINANCE GRADUATE BEFORE THE VERY EYES OF HER MOTHER Miss. Uloko Lawrenta Apaume was in the midst of her friends and well wishers celebrating right inside her hostel when suddenly the armed gunmen whom she had escaped throughout the period of students’ molestation and intimidation paid her an unsolicited visit and opened fire on her with a gun suspected to be a Pump-Action. That was the end of Lawrenta as she became lifeless immediately. INSECURITY OF STUDENTS’ LIVES AND PROPERTY IN AUCHI POLYTECHNIC UNDER DR. SANUSI MOMODU JIMAH, AG RECTOR Both the insane and deaf-mute being in and around Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi are very much aware that Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah is a major security threat to students and staff of the institution. Apart from the fact that he cannot provide them adequate security which is the primary duty/responsibility of every Chief Executive Officer (CEO), he doubles as the source of insecurity to the entire polity herein. The gruesome murder of a student in 2004 by Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah overwhelming records and conniving evidence abound of how in 2004, when he was the assistant Dean of School of Evening Studies, masterminded a similar situation during examination, which led to the death of a final year student of Marketing. This culminated into an uncontrollable violent protest resulting in the destruction of government properties worth millions of Naira, including his personal house at Egelesor in Auchi. That Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah is not students’ friendly is an understatement as he lacks the training, intelligence, patient and listening ear to be the head of a Primary School, let alone a Tertiary Institution. STUDENTS DEMAND The Honourable Minister of Education is hereby urged to save the Nigerian Students from the blood-thirsty dentition of Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah, by ensuring that the entire Nigerian Students,, especially Auchi Polytechnic Students who are presently bereaved of a promising young Banking and Finance Graduate, whose painful exit is premised on Dr. Sanusi Momodu Jimah’s highhandedness, boisterousness, naivety, cluelessness and ineptitude. Miss Uloko Lawrenta Apaume may have been cut in her prime due to man-made- factors. The question on our lips remains “who knows the next victim”, it may be you, I or even a staff of the institution. In as much as the entire Nigerian Students crave for peace, justice must be applied in its galvanization. The presence of peace is not the absence of war but the presence of justice. We therefore demand the total application of the full weight of justice on those who had a hand in the gruesome murder of Comrade Uloko Lawrenta Apaume, either directly or indirectly. See attached photographs of the remains of Comrade Uloko Lawrenta Apaume and other documents for your perusal. Aluta Continua! Victoria Acerta!
sincerely, Comr. Samson Okoduwa President

Education / Auchi Polytechnic Joins ASUP Nationwide Strike by davo80(m): 7:51pm On Nov 13, 2017
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ( ASUP ) in Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in Edo State on Monday paralysed academic activities in the institution by joining in the nationwide strike called by the national leadership of the body.
Lecture halls and offices were under lock and key when our reporter visited the campus. Some graduating students that were on campus for project supervision were seen leaving the campus. The leadership of ASUP commenced the nationwide strike to protest the non-implementation of its CONTISS 15 migration arrears, non-commencement of renegotiation of ASUP/Government agreement of 2010 and the delay in the review of the Federal Polytechnics Act, amongst other issues. Chairman of the Auchi Polytechnic Branch of ASUP, Mr. Justin Momodu, said his members complied with the national directive to proceed on the strike action Momodu said, “The Auchi branch of ASUP have complied with strike because the Federal Government has refused to meet our demands. “Government has not demonstrated that it is prepared to honour its agreement with ASUP. “We have demonstrated enough patience and if government fails to meet our demands we will remain on total trike,” he said. The Chairman Strike Implementation Monitoring Committee, Mr George Okosun said the committee was set up to enforce the strike.
“This committee is set up to ensure that no lecturers or academic activities is taking place at the polytechnic. “Our aim to shut down lecture halls and office are closed down for any academic activities,” he said.

Okosun said that the committee would continue to go round the institution to ensure lecturers complied with the strike directive.

Politics / Traditional Association Of Nigeria(tan) Gives Conditions For Restructuring by davo80(m): 1:18pm On Oct 11, 2017
TRADITIONALIST ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (TAN): OUR DEMANDS FOR RESTRUCTURING. By OgunSamson. I read the well articulated points of Professor of MURIC, Prof. Ishak Akintola on the stance of Muslims over restructuring. Well, I must commend his audacious effort that is aimed at bringing equality and equity to the Nigerian system. In the same vein, I'm a strong advocate of the saying that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. On this pedestal, I also want to articulate the demands of Traditional Association of Nigeria (TAN) for restructuring. 1. We have 8 Days that are meant for Public Holidays in Nigeria, 5 of these days are for Christians while 3 are for Muslims. For the single fact that Traditionalism has been in existence before Islam and Christianity were born, we are demanding for only 4 days in a year for the Ogun Day, Ose Day, Jakuta Day and Awo Day where we will be remembering Ogun, Obatala, Sango and Orunmila respectively. Also, a complete week should be dedicated to Masquerade Festival so that we can worship our ancestors. 2. Christian marriages are official in Nigeria, TAN demands that Traditional Marriage (Idana) should also be given official recognition without demand for registry certificate. 3. Christians have Sunday as Weekly Holiday Day, On every Friday, public officers leave work by 12:00pm to observe Friday Prayer, TAN is demanding that Every Monday of the Week, Ojo Aje should be dedicated to our goddess 'Aje' so that we can pray for prosperity, wealth and riches. 4. Some of us have fell in love with our family masquerade's garments, in fact, I remember vividly that Minister of Information, Lai Muhammad already proposed that we can create more employments with the making of Masquerade attires, TAN demands that Masquerade Attire should be allowed in Schools and Other public places without stereotype. 5. Uniformed groups in Nigeria, including the army, police, uniformed voluntary groups, nurses, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), students of primary and secondary schools, etc, use uniforms designed by the Christian colonialists, also in the North, Hijab is accepted in schools, TAN demands that for restructuring to be effective, these Uniforms should be done to favour Iro, Buba, Dansiki, Agbada, Kembe, Bante, Dandogo and other traditional attires because both Islam and Christianity met Traditionalism on earth. 6. There is no single Ogun or Eshu Shrine in the North, neither is there any Iledi Ogboni in Kano, Sokoto and some other Northern States even when churches and mosques and Sharia houses are everywhere, We demand that government should make a policy that will give Traditionalistsofficial permission to establish Iledi Ogboni, Ogun Shrine and Shrines for all the deities anywhere across Nigeria. 7. In the 1999 Constitution, Shariah was mentioned 73 times, Grand Khadi 54 times, Islam 28 times, Muslims 10 times and there is no single mention of any of our 401 deities in Nigeria. Orunmila was forgotten, Ogun is not regarded, Esu is absent, Sango is silent and so on, we thereby demand that Traditional beliefs and cultures should be included in Nigeria constitution. On a final note, TAN franks to state it emphatically that British colonialists that brought Christianity and Arab imperialists that brought Islam have been greatly unjust and unfair to our traditional beliefs and cultures in Nigeria. We thereby demand that restructuring must put into considerations all our plights as what is good for the goose must also be good for the gander.

Education / Confusion As Auchi Poly Proscribes SUG, Goes Ahead With Session Exams by davo80(m): 3:50pm On Oct 09, 2017
The authorities of Auchi Polytechnic have proscribed the Student’s Union Government (SUG) over threat to the scheduled school’s second semester examination on Monday.
Mr Mustapher Oshiobugie, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in a telephone interview with Newsmen on Monday in Benin. He said the proscription of the SUG arose from the threat by the out-gone executive members of the union to disrupt the examination in protest over management’s postponement of union elections till after the sessional examinations.
“It is true that management has banned all activities of the SUG till further notice effective from this morning. “The school’s management, acting on security reports, postponed the SUG election until the conclusion of the scheduled sessional examination which commenced this morning. “The report was such that if management allowed the election to hold, there was likely going to be security breach of great magnitude. “ It is correct and a fact that the process of the SUG elections had commenced with the conclusion of the ethnic groupings known as `Kparakpo’ , departmental and school’s election. “But following the violent incident of last year, management took the security report very seriously and decided to postpone the election till after examination to allow things to calm down. “But members of the out-gone exco of the SUG, who insisted on going ahead with the election, went violent in protest. “The situation has been brought under control. Examination is in progress as i speak with you as they only disrupted the first paper,” he said.
Oshiobugie assured students and staff of their safety and urged them to go about their normal businesses on campus.

Education / Students Unionism by davo80(m): 3:15pm On Apr 06, 2017
STUDENT UNIONISM:

We all grew up to be told that we are the leaders of tomorrow. This mentality followed us to university and polytechnics, where we actually played our first politics.
If you ever practiced unionism from Departmental to SUG level, then you would know that Nigeria political failure all started from our campuses.
There is so much money in student unionism that students die for it. This is why you see grandpa contesting to be NANS President. Truth is they have nothing to offer. They are there for the money. The true progressive who mean well never wins. The cabal have long been designed to frustrate them. The cabals are the students themselves. They are the ones who leave school and come to preach democracy when they never practiced it in school.
Many well meaning Nigeria students believes to win election in school, the norm is to join a cult. If you are not and you win, you are not likely to complete your tenure. But i can vehemently tell you that this perspective is wrong, I know alot of students union presidents, secretary generals, and welfare directors who led students struggle without cult affiliation.
The four most lucrative posts, President, Secretary General, Financial secretary and Director of Welfare are reserved for the kingpins. Even the school management determines who win these positions.
Unionism is activism but today its the worst scene on campus and i think if you fail in your first assignment as a leader there's no magic that you will be right in future. One thing i have grown to understand is that those who spend heavily for campaign don't win elections.
Most qualified students fails to run for students unionism because of the fear of belonging to cult group and fear of expulsions and love of their certificate.
I The system cannot afford rebels in power. They cannot afford to have someone who has a mind of his own and the people in power. The very Students you think are sane are the same persons that will frustrate you and used against you. Yet they are the leaders of tomorrow. They will be the INEC Commissioners and politicians and yet you expect a better Nigeria.
To take back Nigeria, you must take back the university/polytechnic from the student cabals. You cannot take back NASS or think of going against the Senators when the next ones are in SRC doctoring records and fixing decoder in the SUG building and telling fellow students that a GOtv decoder of N6800 was fixed for N1.2 million. You see members of SRC fighting themselves, not because of Students Welfare but because of Sitting Allowance. This allowance is the only thing student officials thinks and talk about in our institutions. So very unfortunate.
To make matter worst, they are dogs that eats dog. Management uses them against themselves.

The rot starts from the very university/polytechnic not the National Assembly. How students will seat down and be paid bogus allowances for doing nothing is what we should first stop before occupying NASS. These are same students that will graduate to be legislators later and you think Nigeria will be better.
The root of corruption starts from Student unionism and until we clear such Aegean Stable, join no one any longer to blame Saraki and Co. They are all products of Student politics.
Finally I want to state categorically that not all comrades are cultist, not all SUG president, vice president, secretary general etc belongs to cult group.
On this note,Am inviting all well meaning ,vibrant, and patrotic Nigerian students to National Youths Assembly Of Nigeria(NYAN).In NYAN we promotes patriotism, good governance, fight corruption and mainstream youths into politics.we believe we must change the dynamics that youths are the leaders of tomorrow rather we are leaders of today and builders of tomorrow. As our slogan connotes 'MY VOICE MY POWER'.we believe our highest tools should be our voice.join us today and be trained on how to handle leadership positions effectively.
Signed
Amb David Benjamin
