I can understand THAT MANY GUYS WOULD FEEL SAD. However, we need to maintain decorum.

I lifted this some where

What is Digital Copyright?

Copyright applies to any medium. It is commonly applied to music, film, photographs, literature art, television programs and more. Copyright protects artistic and creative works from copying and reproduction without the creator’s permission.

Are you really stealing if signals sent down from space are on my property?

Yes, it is as much stealing, as eating cookies a girl scout is trying to sell before she sells them to you
Stealing is theft plain and simple, whether it is digital or a physical object

If at all it will happen, people should be wise about it

Like i said I have Strong, Esat, Qsat, Speed S1 HD, etc, but i wouldn't come here to say it opens this or that, cos its not allowed. Malix and others sell all decoders that supports IKS and FTA.

Truly1: As long as d**v refused to stop their exploitation there will always be a way out. Premium channels that people pay N11,000 for in Nigeria per month is just N3,000 in S.A. so who is fooling who? So as long as any commodity cannot go round affordable wise there would always be Black Market period
Nobody is preventing you from going to Tiamiyu savage to go protest, just dont use Nairaland as a platform for illegality.

This poor customer service is one of the many reasons why people attack DSTV. This is really unfair to customers. You get this in an uncivilized society in Nigeria. No one to call them to order and not as if they'll compensate the customers for the poor service.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: All about IKS Decoders(Qsat, Speed HD, Azsky)POWERVU BIS & IPTV boxes by davodyguy(op): 8:52pm On Sep 15, 2014
There are many decoders with IKS functionality.
eg Qsat, Esat, Azsky, Zorro box, Liberty, Speed HD S1 etc cos the list is endless.

Each of these decoders allows you to watch FTA channels available on satellite positions within proximity to your location.

They also afford one the opportunity of to watch IPTV, YouTube etc

check out the list of available IKS decoders here

Dear Nairalanders

Having consulted with the mod, with a view to curbing the impunity and unreserved posting about IKS decoders, I have decided to open this new thread.

Rule
9. Don't use Nairaland for illegal acts, e.g fraud, piracy, and spreading malware.

This thread is going to be regimented with strict adherence to the above rule. Hence, there would be no mentioning of any Paytv here

All discussions would be centred around the use of IKS decoders legally.

illegal use of these deciders would not be encouraged. If you want to discuss such, it would be done codedly.

Some ignorant folks might say Paytv are aware of the illegal viewing of their channels, yes they are. The owner of Nairaland is a law abiding citizen, who doesn't support illegality and piracy.

watching Paytv without a valid subscription is illegal and theft of property belonging to another.

Whilst this thread would be opened for all, the mod is on stand by to deal with people who chooses to act like kids.

Pls I believe we are adults and would definitely act as one.

cheers

as in? I didn't really get it. Do they do runs? explain again. if its runs, I'm not ruling it out, but they do so codedly.

They killed Qsat by messing it up. The funny thing about Eagle is that, there's no single site talking about it in any country apart from Nairaland in Nigeria. Nigerians can abuse anything

The thing is surprising. Just like how Azsky was back then. 4 hours without a single freeze.

I hope pple can keep quiet and not mess things up like they did with Qsat. We warned them about Qsat, they didn't hear. The days of Qsat are numbered. If you want to help, direct them to the backyard, let them allow you enjoy your money till January 2015

If that's your orientation, then you have no point at all. WTH? Because you can't get a job in a bank or Oil company means you must steal from the bank or vandalize oil pipeline? when you can get another job in any other firm? Like I said earlier, its a matter of choice.

I doubt if any of you have spent half of what I've spent on TV.
Startimes is available for N1000/month, Gotv and DSTV access, daarsat, consat and mytv. All can be gooten from N1000 monthly with no issue.

Even super sport 3 is available at 7000/month on compact.

DSTV has really tried by making TV more affordable. tell consat, mytv, AIT and Startimes to step up their games.

wow..... i bet dis pple don loose so many customers, they are now cryin a river. pls tell dem, we nid pay per view. Except dat, nigeria is a corrupted country lead by corrupted leaders on corrupted people. Fork dem
In as much as I partially share your sentiment, yet things shouldn't been done out of proportion. Nigeria is a corrupt country, led by the most corrupt leaders. However, they steal indirectly and not show you they're stealing. No one knows Ali modu sherrif was sponsoring boko till The Australian told us. Most of them do it underground. If you must steal from Paytv, be wise about it cos if you're caught, you would regret everything and wishes you never used dongle.

I would be watching Arsenal play in few minutes on 3 different super sannusi 3 and no one will get hurt, Crystal clear with no single freeze.

8 nabbed over illegal DStv signal access........
becareful Zambains.........

A SCAM has been unearthed in which some
people are selling decoders that are providing illegal access to DSTV channels.

Police in Lusaka have since arrested eight people, among them a named former ZNBC employee, in connection with the vice.

Acting police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in Lusaka on Monday that following an operation conducted at the weekend, police also seized 42 decoders, among other electrical gadgets, which the accused manipulated using
a certain software to access the DStv signal without using a smart card and paying subscription.

Ms Katongo identified the suspects as Margaret Zwelopili, 38, Gloria Mwamba,24, Lawrence Sinyangwe, 28, John Mwape, 24, Sililo Simushi, 29, Funny Zimba, 31, and John Manda, 36.
Ms Katongo said the eight who were currently in detention have been charged with possession and unlawful dealing in electronic communication apparatus capable of monitoring
or intercepting the transmission of an electronic network or service.

She said the eight were further charged with unlawful access of a television signal or channel by using decoders and would appear in court soon.

MultiChoice Zambia general manager Simon Bota said he was happy that the police together with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Service were able to “crack” the syndicate.

Mr Bota said such illegal activities jeopardised the jobs MultiChoice had created and the television industry as a whole.

“I would also like to discourage those people who purchase these decoders because the only way you can access the DSTV channels is by paying monthly subscription through Multi Choice for the DSTV service but if you are receiving it free of charge then obviously there is a problem,” he said
He said the scourge had been going on for a while and that what had been unearthed was a tip of an ice berg, adding that the Multi Choice business had negatively been affected but could not immediately quantify the damage.

Intellectual Property specialist Kingsley Nkonde
said the decoders in question operated with a
SIM Card and that the culprits installed the
gadget with software that allowed free access
to all the DSTV channels.

Mr Nkonde also produced a Facebook printout in which the decoder dealers were advertising the gadget sold at K1,600 and those who bought it would access the DSTV full bouquet channels for free for one year coupled with over 700 free-to-air channels and only needed to bundle their SIM cards with K5 for internet services.

Information Permanent Secretary Bert Mushala warned the perpetrators that it was unlawful for anyone to access a television signal as outlined in the amended Copyright and Performance Rights Act No 25 of 2010.

“The Ministry, working together with the Intellectual Property Unit under the Zambia Police Service, has started closing in on theperpetrators and some of them have already been arrested,” he said.
Those of you who are close to this guy called mountain Ben on Facebook, tell him, paytv are really looking for him. He posts about multi choice without reservation and thinks he has the backing of some small police officers. Read the above post and see that an officer was also arrested
