Nosu: The 21st century illiterate are those that cant learn, unlearn and relearn.

I asked a question and nobody as being able to give answer to my question,
u need to hv a complete understanding of scripture b4 u start contributing to issues. I can see that some of u know ur old testament very well but know just a little of the new testament and that is y we are hv conflicting views here.

So pls give me answer to dis question

Give me a name of a christian dat was under generational curse after the death and resurrection of the messiah in the bible?

Look no further. Look at yourself. After the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, the curse in Eden still affects all generations including you. Except '..to dust thou shall return" and that is not even automatic for all men cos u need to br raptured to escape that.

'Jesus came to take away the curse' but all the curses on Adam and Eve are still existing in the lives of all men. We still die, women have painful childbirth, men and even women till the ground. Jesus came to remove this curse '...to dust thou shall return'. He came so that all men would have a chance to returned to God after death. That's d curse He removed; the curse of perdition. He didnt automatically remove generational curses, although we, through His blood, have the power to pray them out.

To those who dont believe in generational curses or those who say its not scriptural, I say/ask:

-Jacob cursed Reuben for sleeping with his wife. GEN 49:4. Moses had to stand as a prophet of God to upturn the curse on Reuben's generation. DEUT 33. READ BOTH OF GEN 49 & DEUT 33. Is this not in the Bible?

- What explains negative family patterns.?
check your family for such patterns

Now let's assume that generational curses aren't 'scriptural', does that mean it doesn't exist?
Knowledge isnt limited to The Bible. And yes, Im a Christian. There are several existing, real and powerful things that arent in the Bible. Guess thats why Jesus said He will send the Holy Spirit to ' guide us to all truths'.

INTERNET, IFA, METAPHYSICS, AERONAUTICS, ANDROID ETC ARE NOT IN THE BIBLE I.e. they are not scriptural but does that mean they are not real or do not exist

My thoughts exactly ...u took that straight outta my mouth.

I expect little from people. When I get what I expect I am happy and grateful. When I get more, I am really surprised and very grateful. This approach ensures peace of mind and happiness. When I get little acts of love from friends and family I am happy. When I get an avalanche of TLC from them and from unexpected sources, I get high. In all scenarios, it's a win-win situation for me. I try to make sure I do not put myself in a situation where my yearnings and cravings are at the mercy of the actions of an individual or his/her inaction. This, for me, is a reasonable decision. Human beings are fallible. We fail, fall and disappoint even ourselves. We change from bad to good, get worse and sometimes some of us just shuttle between the good and the bad. We are dynamic, largely unpredictable and just human. It is safe to guard your joy by ensuring that you do not put your hope and trust in fellow mortals. You will fail others and others will fail you. We are largely unreliable. This is the truth. Entitlement mentality gets in the way of the acceptance of this truth.

Entitlement mentality makes you expect more from people and in some cases it makes you demand more from people. It is difficult to experience true peace and joy when all you do is sit down in a corner and expect 'more' from people who give far less than what you feel you deserve. The individual who goes about demanding 'more' from everyone around will irritate many and eventually get frustrated. Have you noticed that respect does not come to those who demand it? Only those who command respect, get it. To command respect, never ask for it.

Many got angry when they got a last-minute invite to their friend's wedding and turned down the invitation because they feel they deserved more. Other's get mad whenever food is served and what they get does not match the plates on other tables at the party. A strange few actually cause a scene when they do not get those plastic hand-fans shared at some owambes. In all of these, the embarrassing role of entitlement mentality cannot be overstated.

Entitlement mentality gets in the way of gratitude, robs you off your self-esteem and puts you at the mercy of others. Many can never be grateful because they will always feel they deserve more. Confidence is non-existent in some because they feel unworthy as a result of the many entitlements they were denied.

I must confess, entitlement mentality shouldn't be totally discarded and it is even almost impossible to achieve that but it must not play a major role in determining our actions and reactions. A decent sense of entitlement keeps us close and connected with friends and family. I am not advocating for an individualistic approach to life or narcissism. I believe we are created to relate and co-exist with mutual dependence. All I am saying is stop expecting MORE from people (no matter how close) because no one is obliged to meet all your needs and even if he/she is indeed obliged, he/she cannot meet your needs forever. He/she will fail you at some point because he/she is just human and entitlement mentality won't prepare you for this reality. And the worse part for that person is that, instead of showing understanding and appreciation, you will judge and condemn him/her for failing you all because of your Entitlement Mentality.

There are a host of Spiritual Gifts but 'speaking in tongues' seems to be the most popular one. It seems to be a basic requirement for every believer. Christians rarely ask questions like 'Do you prophesy?', 'Do you have the gift of discernment?' or 'Do you have the gift of knowledge?' but are quick to throw the 'Do you speak in tongues?' question at almost every brother/sister that comes their way. One gets the feeling that 'do you speak in tongues?' is the modern Christian's version of the civilized world's 'do you speak English?'. It is that bad.

Several questions ran through my head after reading Apostle Paul's thoughts on speaking in tongues and spiritual gifts detailed in I Corinthians, Chapter 14. These questions are for those who have read that chapter of the Bible, those who speak in tongues and those who look forward to doing same.


1.) Those things worship leaders say before/during worship songs, are they also 'tongues from heaven'?

2.) Is 'speaking in tongues' premeditated or a divinely inspired utterance?

3.) How come many who speak in tongues sound like a stammerer repeating the same syllables?

4.) Can I learn how to speak in tongues in a formal christian class?

5.) Is speaking in tongues taught by men or received from God?

6.) Is it compulsory for all worship leaders to speak in tongues during every song?

7.) Is it compulsory that all prayer warriors must know how to speak in tongues?

8.) Are our prayers incomplete if we don't speak in tongues?

9.) Is speaking in tongues a pre-requisite for getting to heaven?

10.) Speaking in tongues = heavenly language, human language or both?

11.) Is speaking in tongues a must-have skill for all Christians?

12.) Where do you get your words from when you speak in tongues? (be honest)

13.) Do you understand the words you utter when you speak in tongues?

14.) Is it important you know the interpretation of the 'tongues' you speak or it doesn't matter?

15.) How come Jesus never spoke in tongues?

16.) Don't you just think speaking in tongues is overrated

It's really cool to be the one in charge,  running the show, dictating the pace and basically calling the shots
as a business owner or better still an entrepreneur. . Owning a business is no biggie,  keeping it alive and
growing it into an established and profitable enterprise in the long run is the main issue. Anyone, i repeat anyone can start a business
but are you really equipped with managerial skills and the visionary quality of an entrepreneur needed to efficiently run
and grow a business? Please be told not all business owners are really entrepreneurs. Starting a business =Owning a business,
but Owning a Business = Being an Entrepreneur? Lailai!!!
There is this entrepreneurial frenzy going on among the minds of youths nowadays. Green minds are innocently
contemplating dropping out of schools because "Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Jobs etc. were dropouts" so skills/talent is enough to pay the bills.

Motivational trash is in the air everywhere, encouraging youths to be entrepreneurial without equipping them for the task ahead. 
Motivational speakers always omit the fact that these above-mentioned men were not mere business-owners but Entrepreneurs Extraordinaire.
Your skills/talent sure gives you technical competence but to run a business you need more than this. You need managerial skills
and most importantly Entrepreneurial Skills which Gates, Ellison and Jobs(My personal favourite) had in abundance.

Managerial skills ensures smooth operations and this leads to growth on a daily basis.
If you dont have it, learn it or hire a manager to ensure the smooth running of your business processes.

Entrepreneurial skills ensures vision and innovation.

You MUST be an entrepreneur if you must own a business. Entrepreneurs are innovative, visionary and they keep
re-inventing the business because one good business idea IS NOT enough to sustain your business till eternity.
You need to be constantly innovative and re-invent the business at all times. An entrepreneur generates a plethora
of ideas; he is a constant thinker. One product/idea is never enough! He keeps thinking about new ideas and better ways
of doing things.

Apple Computers is a classic example of innovation and vision.

Steve Jobs= Entrepreneur and Chief Innovator (before he resigned)

Management Personnel = Managers

Brilliant Programmers/Developers = Technicians



MY ADVICE

If you are a technician i.e. someone with specific skills/talent, find people who will be willing to pay for your services.
A gifted singer could sell records
A good programmer could find an IT firm willing to pay for his/her services
A CC person should find firms who are willing to pay for that skill.
etc etc


If you are a natural and/or trained manager of people and resources, many firms need your services, find them.


Only Entrepreneurs are allowed to start a business, dont start a business if you aren't! (strong language deliberate)

If you've got vision, innovation and a dreamer, start a business but you need
technicians and managers to translate your ideas into a profitable enterprise. Hire them and ensure u acquire technical and managerial skills.

NB-Its possible to be have d qualities of more than one category, however, IF YOU MUST START/OWN A BUSINESS YOU MUST BE AN ENTREPRENEUR.

The New Lagos Tenancy Law has generated diverse reactions but one fact that will sure raise multiple eyebrows is the clause in it that excludes properties in VI, Ikoyi, Ikeja GRA and Apapa from the provisions of the law.
