Business Insider Africa presents its rankings of the top 10 African countries offering favorable conditions for business ventures in 2023. These rankings are based on the comprehensive report titled “The Africa Risk-Reward Index” from Oxford Economics Africa. The assessment of these countries takes into account three critical factors. In our increasingly interconnected global landscape, businesses are increasingly expanding beyond national borders to explore new markets and investment prospects. While international business operations can pose challenges, certain nations have emerged as highly conducive environments for enterprises and individuals alike. These countries boast business-friendly atmospheres, robust infrastructure, stable economies, and accommodating regulatory frameworks. This trend is particularly evident in Africa, a continent that has garnered significant attention from investors. Africa is recognized as one of the world’s fastest-growing regions, and despite facing its share of socio-economic challenges, many African countries are rapidly adapting to accommodate business owners. The 2023 “The Africa Risk-Reward Index” report, produced by Oxford Economics Africa—an independent economic advisory firm, underscores these dynamics. The report delves into the potential gains and risks associated with business ventures in each African country, focusing on factors such as African-led security interventions and the financial strategies pursued by African nations for future development. By analyzing these three key factors, the research identifies countries with the most favorable risk-to-reward ratios for establishing foreign businesses. It is noteworthy that some of the riskiest African countries for business, as indicated in a previously published list, also overlap with the list of the most rewarding countries for investment. The reward scores assigned to these countries take into consideration factors like medium-term economic growth projections, economic size, economic structure, and demographics. Of these, the economic growth outlook carries the greatest weight in determining the reward score, as robust economic growth tends to create a fertile ground for investment opportunities to flourish. Here are two techniques you can follow: Oven Roasting and Stovetop Roasting. 1. Oven Roasting (Baked Plantains): Ingredients: Ripe plantains Cooking oil (optional) Instructions: Begin by preheating your oven. Peel the ripe plantains and cut them into diagonal slices or chunks. If desired, you can lightly brush the plantain slices with a small amount of cooking oil to help them brown in the oven. Arrange the plantain slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, ensuring they are in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes. Remember to flip the slices halfway through the baking process. You’ll know they’re ready when they become tender and acquire a golden brown color. Once done, take the baked plantains out of the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. 2. Stovetop Roasting (Stove Method): Ingredients: Ripe plantains Instructions: Keep the plantains unpeeled and make a shallow lengthwise slit on each one. Place the unpeeled plantains directly onto the grates of a stovetop burner set to medium-low heat. Roast the plantains, turning them occasionally with tongs. Continue roasting until the skins become entirely blackened, and the flesh inside becomes soft and caramelized. This typically takes about 15-20 minutes. Remove the roasted plantains from the heat and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Peel off the blackened skins to reveal the sweet, roasted plantain flesh. Each of these methods offers a distinct texture and flavor for roasted ripe plantains, enabling you to select the one that best suits your taste preferences and kitchen setup. Enjoy them with some groundnuts on the side! FOR MORE: https://daxclusive.com

Health Benefits Of Waterleaf. Waterleaf is one of the most medicinal and nutritious vegetables in Nigeria. It is usually underestimated and undervalued because it is seen as a wild plant that grows everywhere all year round. It is called ‘Gbure’ by the Yoruba people and is also called ‘Mgbolodi’ in Igbo and ‘Ebe London’ in Edo. People from Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom call it mmomoikong (waterleaf). I think its more popular with ibibio and efik, they use it in almost all their soups especially Afang ,Edikaikong and Editan. Waterleaf can also be used for smoothie or made into juice. Both Waterleaf smoothie and waterleaf juice has numerous health benefits. Waterleaf can also be taken as a vegetable, dried herbs and also as juice(as said above). Waterleaf Botanical name :Talinum triangulare Waterleaves are generally good and beneficial to human health. This vegetable contains lots of water and nutrients such as minerals, vitamins, crude fiber, lipids, crude protein, and others which make them nutritious and medicinal in several ways. The uses are versatile for culinary purposes, and they are used to prepare waterleaf soup, waterleaf stew or sauce, yam, salad, and more. Below are some of the health benefits of waterleaf 1. Problems with indigestion seem to alleviate when waterleaf is eaten and helps to soften the stool, but when eaten in excess can cause a little stomach discomfort. 2. It Supports the Liver Liver diseases remain a major cause of death all over the World. Scientists examined the impact of the methanol extract of Talinum triangulare on the liver and blood, they found out that the leaves are effective for treating liver diseases. It lowers the concentration of the enzymes in the blood. 3. It Enhances Cognitive Ability Regular consumption of this vegetable affects cognitive ability because of certain constituents, which help improve cerebral blood flow and cognitive function. And due to its ability to improve the flow of blood, it helps the brain function adequately by supplying it with adequate oxygen to prevent/improve Cerebral Hypoperfusion, Schizophrenia, and the death of the brain tissues. The presence of iron, a micronutrient found in waterleaf, also helps strengthen the brain muscles and tissues, which helps improve the human brain, thereby improving cognitive reasoning. 4. It’s Good for Weightloss It serves as a weight loss diet due to the amount of fiber content in it. But it should be taken regularly either used in a salad or steamed to a certain temperature. The fiber content makes the stomach fuller, thereby eliminating the chances of craving more food. Its water content also helps in this case, making it one of the vegetables to be added to our daily meals for proper weight management. As much as it helps to improve weight, we have to also eat healthy at all times for the effectiveness of this nutrient. Health Benefits Of Waterleaf 5. It Repairs Body Tissues They are a good source of vitamins such as A and C, which help repair the body tissues and promote good eye vision. One of the main functions of vitamin C is to help in normal body tissue repair and growth. It acts as an antioxidant as it prevents oxidative stress caused by free radicals from damaging the body cells and tissues. It makes the skin smoother, prevents dryness, and helps firm and improve skin pigment. 6. It Promotes Eye Health Vegetables are essential for overall health, including the eye, as they mostly contain vitamin A, which functions to improve eye health. Waterleaf contains vitamin A, which helps to enhance vision in poor light and helps improve the skeletal tissue and the skin due to its content of vitamin A1 as known as Retinol. Vitamin A can help provide the eye with the necessary nutrients it needs to prevent some eye-related conditions like cataracts, macular degeneration, and more. Therefore, the intake of waterleaf in the right amount will result in a healthy eye. Waterleaf also contains vitamin C, which helps maintain a healthy eye by preventing the retina from damage caused by free radicals and other health conditions that affect the eyes, like dry eyes, conjunctival hemorrhages, and even cataracts. 7. For Strong Bones and Teeth The presence of calcium in this vegetable helps maintain strong bones and teeth, in general, gives support to the body’s skeletal structure, and improves skeletal function. Calcium is vital in the formation of bones in the body. The content of this mineral in waterleaf makes it one of the foods suitable for those who have bone conditions such as osteoporosis, fracture, and more, as it can help in its improvement. 8. It Eliminates Infections & Diseases Contain certain properties such as antibacterial properties, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties that help suppress the growth of bacteria, fungi, and inflammatory diseases in the body. It has been proven effective for the treatment of some diseases like Atherosclerosis, which results in the arteries in the body are accumulated with fats and cholesterols, thereby making the artery walls narrow. It makes the blood flow interrupted and can even cause a total blockage in the artery, leading to many health conditions like stroke, heart attack, and more. Waterleaf consumption has been locally used to treat and prevent this health condition; for more effective results, the leaf should be washed and properly squeezed to extract the juice, which has to be taken orally. There is no measurement for the quantity of waterleaf juice to be taken, but it should be moderate. 9. It Promotes Heart Health Waterleaves, when consumed daily, perform a key role in maintaining the cardiovascular system. It helps to keep the heart healthy by regulating the heart’s activities and reducing the risk of related heart diseases and stroke by adequately supply of blood and oxygen to the needed areas. It also helps reduce the cholesterol levels in the blood, which is good for the prevention and improvement of heart-related conditions. 10. It Boosts Fertility Waterleaf is widely believed to boost both male and female fertility… It increases blood flow to the sexual organs, improves libido, serves as an aphrodisiac, and boosts ovulation in women. 11. It Improves the Blood Cells The crude protein in waterleaf is an important supplement from a quality and nutritional perspective, playing a significant role in the human blood cell. Its functions when it comes to blood cells in the body can’t be overemphasized. It is believed to help in the adequate pumping of blood and its supply and is used in many cases, such as in the treatment of anemia. It generally helps improve the blood cells, which includes both the white and red blood cells, and the content of iron helps in this case. 12. It Improves Blood Clotting Waterleaf has a great effect on the blood, making it one of the vegetables that have to be incorporated into our daily meals due to its effectiveness. It helps improve blood clotting and prevents new ones from forming, just like a thrombus that might form in one of the blood vessels interfering with blood flow. Though a thrombus can be termed healthy when it stops bleeding on injuries by making the blood form a clot, it can be termed unhealthy when the clot formation tends to block the blood vessels. Therefore, the intake of waterleaf in whatever form can help prevent such occurrences and even help improve existing ones due to their anti-inflammatory properties and others. 13. Medicinal Uses Waterleaves have been used in many ways serving diverse ranges of medicinal purposes. In this case, its juice, stem, leaves, and roots are all considered effective as they have proven successful in treating measles. Arthritis reduces blood sugar and blood pressure. It can also treat insomnia, anemia, and malaria. It is also used in the treatment of diarrhea, improving weakness, and more. In conclusion, Waterleaf should not be underrated, as it has many health benefits which it has to offer when we consume it adequately. Its richness in many vitamins and minerals makes it one of the vegetables we should add to our daily meals for an effective result. The main concern when it comes to eating too much waterleaf stems from its oxalate content. Too much oxalate can be unhealthy for individuals with kidney disease. As such, those individuals should refrain from consuming raw waterleaf. Cooked waterleaf has approximately 50 percent less soluble oxalate than its raw counterpart. The rainy season in Nigeria runs from April through October. Prior to this time of the year, the scorching rays of the sun and the heat it brings leave Nigerians praying for a more human-friendly temperature. The rainy season is awaited by everyone as it brings some kind of relief from the scorching heat of summer. But this season also has its share of woes on our health. The sudden change of weather, fluctuation in temperature, and the highly humid air are a situation our bodies would need to adjust to as it’s important to stay safe and healthy during this period. Working in cold conditions isn’t just uncomfortable, it can be dangerous. Below are the best tips to help you stay fit during this rainy season: 1. BE WEATHER CONSCIOUS Before heading out, make sure to check the weather and traffic information through reliable sources like the news on the radio, TV, and the internet (where you’re reading this). No one can predict the weather 100% accurately, but those in charge of that field do a pretty neat job. Having this information would allow you to make calculated decisions like what routes to pass to avoid traffic or where not to go to avoid a downpour. 2. GET PROPERLY COVERED The most effective way not to get sick during the rainy season is to wear the type of clothing that suits the weather. Wearing clothes made of wool or fleecy synthetic fibers helps to maintain body heat. Cotton is also effective if the garment stays dry. Wear several layers of thin, loose-fitting clothing rather than one thick one. Wear good-fitting socks and slippers in the house. Sweaters, blankets, and duvets are necessary household items in cold weather. Choose headwear that keeps your head and ears warm. Dressing in layers is key, as it not only keeps you warm but allows you to adjust to changing temperatures. 3. STAY WELL NOURISHED BY EATING AND DRINKING ENOUGH Make sure to drink enough fluids, as you dehydrate faster in cold weather conditions. Dehydration causes headaches, dizziness, and fatigue, and it’s important to stay alert outdoors. Eating enough food during the day, especially fats and carbohydrates, is also important. Your body uses those nutrients as energy to stay warm in cold temperatures. Take hot drinks such as hot tea, vegetable soup, ginger tea, etc. to keep the body warm always. Also, consider a hot pepper soup garnished with herbs and other healthy spices that rejuvenates and cleanses the system to help you from catching a cold. This will also save you from getting any kind of infection occurring due to sudden changes in the temperature of the body. 4. TURN OFF AIR CONDITIONERS The use of air conditioners should be reduced. Some people who regularly use air conditioners during the hot season may find out that they can cope without the air conditioner during the cold or rainy seasons. Apart from the health implications, turning off ACs saves energy and money. Do not enter an air-conditioned room with wet hair and damp clothes to prevent getting a viral fever or cold and cough. Go for a shower immediately if you get wet in the rain to protect yourself from colds and other infections. More so, for those who stay mostly in air-conditioned environs (offices), this period may be a time you want to regulate how often or high you leave that AC on while working. 5. INVEST IN DURABLE RAINPROOF GEAR Stock up on everything that would protect you from getting drenched. From Umbrellas to Raincoats, to shower caps for the ladies, and down to weather-friendly shoes. The perfect way to survive unpredictable downpours is to go about with a portable umbrella or have one permanently in your car. 6. INVEST IN SUITABLE FOOTWEAR If it’s raining, make sure your outerwear and footwear are suitable. This is also the season to invest in rubber shoes or jelly slides as it’s popularly called, make sure you purchase a pair or two. Furthermore, avoid water-penetrated clothes because they can decrease your body temperature and put you at high risk of catching a cold. Also, ensure you avoid too-tight shoes because it only constricts blood flow thereby causing your feet to become even colder. 7. GET AN UMBRELLA/RAINCOAT There are several reasons that will take one out of the house or keep one out late. It could be work, a party, whatever it is, it is essential always to have an umbrella or raincoat as it might suddenly begin to rain while one is still out. If one is drenched in the rain, then one is at risk of catching a cold. Umbrellas help you go anywhere even when it seems to be raining heavily. You should make sure there are enough umbrellas in your home. You should also keep several umbrellas in your car. It is one of the easiest ways to be ready when stepping out with your family into the rain. You can have mini umbrellas in your child(ren)’s bag or foldable raincoats (they come in cute cartoon designs nowadays). 8. TAKE WARM SHOWERS Put aside the cold showers for now because warm/hot showers are the reasonable way to go unless you’re planning to have a cold (so you have an excuse from work). It’s even more reason that if you get drenched in rain, you should take a warm shower as soon as you can to raise your body temperature. And honestly, it feels good. Think of being in a sauna. 9. INTAKE OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES Intake of fruits and vegetables should be on the rise during this period. Vitamin C is a common element in most fruits that help fight cold. Vit C is an important antioxidant that the body uses to keep you strong and healthy. Vitamin C is used in the maintenance of bones, muscle, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also assists in the formation of collagen and helps the body absorb iron. Vitamin C is found naturally in vegetables and fruits, especially oranges and other citrus fruits. Vit C is also available as a natural dietary supplement and chew-able tablets and they help fight colds always. 10. STAY WELL RESTED Working outdoors can be challenging, and increases risks to your safety. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep to stay alert on the job when conditions are more dangerous. If you do not need to step out when it rains, it’s best to stay indoors and make the most of it. There are many fun activities to do indoors too like board games, coffee dates, and so on. 11. STAY DRY Damp clothing can quickly drop your body temperature. It’s more important than ever to stay dry in the cold. Wear a moisture-wicking base layer to draw away sweat as you work. Wear waterproof gear as an outer shell to prevent your underlayers from getting wet. Remove any wet clothing immediately. 12. GET AN ALTERNATIVE POWER OPTION For some reason, in Nigeria, when the rains come down, the power goes out. Rather than be stuck in darkness until the rains subside, Handle power outages like a genius. Invest in a durable power alternative. A generator, an Inverter, a UPS, Stabilisers, or even a power bank are all it takes for your comfort. Bridge the gap between an epileptic power supply and the good life with any of these options. 13. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM INFECTION All sorts of viruses and infections causing illnesses like fever, flu, common cold, etc, are out now so you want to protect yourself from those by always being hygienic. Wash your hands regularly and sanitize them. Always be well covered and avoid stepping in any dirty puddles. Mosquitoes have the time of their lives this season because of all the puddles and stagnant water. Try as much as possible to install mosquito nets, use mosquito coils, and use mosquito sprays and mosquito repellant creams before heading out. 14. MOVE AROUND If you feel extremely cold, heat up your body a bit by moving around to stay warm. Standing still will only make you feel colder. Thanks for following and reading, Do you have anything to say about this? Please, feel free to drop your comments, thoughts, and feedback in the comment section. You can also share it with anyone you think would find it useful. Stay Safe, Stay Dry, and Protected in this rainy season. Penis Health. The penis is the male organ used for urination and sexual intercourse. The penis is located above the scrotum. It is made of spongy tissue and blood vessels. The shaft of the penis surrounds the urethra and is connected to the pubic bone. The foreskin covers the head (glans) of the penis. The foreskin is removed if the boy is circumcised. This is often done shortly after birth but can be done later in life for various medical and religious reasons. Having good penis health includes:- – Your ability to urinate comfortably – Your Fertility – Your ability to get or maintain an erection. There are many different things that can affect the health of your penis, including your hygiene practices, lifestyle changes, and any underlying health conditions. Penis health also includes avoiding certain health conditions, such as penile cancer and STIs. The penis is important to overall health partly because of its urinary and reproductive functions. If your penis is not working well, it may be because of other problems like diabetes or heart disease. You should pay attention to how your penis looks and works so you can discuss any problems with your healthcare provider. A healthy penis removes urine and allows you to enjoy sex and reproduce. Penis health needs a holistic approach. In other words, taking care of all aspects of your general health is important for the health of your penis. This is especially important since a range of different health conditions can affect your fertility and penile health. 1. Stay hydrated Hydration is essential for your overall health, as well as the health of your penis. There might be a link between dehydration and Erectile Dysfunction, so try to get about two liters of water a day. 2. Eat a balanced diet A balanced diet is key in helping you reduce your chances of developing diabetes and heart disease, both of which can cause ED. Ensure to add vegetables and fruits to your diet, it’s important. 3. Hygiene Maintaining good hygiene and care of your genitals (private parts) reduces the chances of developing problems like skin irritations and some common infections. So it’s important to know how to wash your penis. The same basic principles apply whether you have a foreskin or have been circumcised. Gently wash your penis each day. Carefully pull back and clean underneath the foreskin, as well as the tip of your penis (the glans) using only water and very gentle soap. Don’t scrub this sensitive area. Using soap is fine, but too much could irritate your penis. Make sure you gently pat dry the tip of your penis, the area underneath your foreskin, and the rest of your penis. Wash your scrotum and the skin around it. Wash your perineum (the piece of skin between your scrotum and anus). Wash near your anus and between your butt cheeks. It’s best to wash your penis every time you bathe. Replace the foreskin over the tip of the penis before putting on your underwear. Make sure your underwear has been properly washed, thoroughly rinsed, and fully dried before wearing it. Make sure you wash your hands before you pass urine or touch your penis. This is especially important if you have been handling anything that might irritate your penis, such as chemicals, chili peppers, or heat rub, and ensure your partner doesn’t touch your penis with dirty hands as well, if you are sexually active, make your partner wash her hands before touching your penis. It is normal to have some thick, white discharge under the foreskin. This is called smegma. If you have a lot of smegma or it is smelly, you may need to wash your penis more often. If the head of the penis becomes painful, red, or itchy, or if you have a discharge, you could have balanitis. Check with your doctor if you are concerned. 4. Exercise Try exercising at least a few times a week — even a brisk walk every so often can improve your penile health. Practice pelvic floor exercises Pelvic floor exercises are often associated with vaginal health, but they can be helpful for everyone. These exercises can improve your ability to get and maintain an erection, as well as prevent dribble after urination. 5. Maintain a healthy weight Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce your chances of diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease, all of which affect your penile health. 6. Practice stress management Practicing stress management is great for your overall health and the health of your penis. Stress and anxiety can affect your sexual performance and fertility. Stress also increases your chances of developing cardiovascular disease, which can lead to ED. Stress management techniques include: – deep breathing – spending time with loved ones – journaling – meditation – Practice sleep hygiene Sleep is important for your vascular health, which affects your ability to become erect. There seems to be a link between obstructive sleep apnea and ED, possibly because sleep deprivation can lead to low testosterone and other hormonal imbalances. 7. Avoid tobacco smoking Smoking cigarettes is strongly associated with Erectile Dysfunction. A 2013 study trusted Source showed that this possibly is because smoking disrupts your heart’s autonomic function, which in turn leads to ED. Smoking can also decrease your fertility. 8. Drink alcohol in moderation If at all you want to drink alcohol, as with tobacco, excessive drinking can cause a number of health problems, which can in turn affect your penis health. Things that affect sperm count 1. Obesity 2. Placing the laptop on your lap 3. Poor sleep 4. Alcohol and smoking 5. Highly fatty or processed foods. 6. Tight cloth especially around groins Signs that your penis isn’t healthy or that you might be having other issues include: – Problems getting or keeping your penis erect. – Burning when you go to the bathroom. – Bleeding when you go to the bathroom or when you orgasm. – Changes in the way you orgasm. – Having pain when your penis is erect. – Having pain when you have sex. – Feeling pain after trauma to your penis. Visually inspecting your penis on a regular basis is one way to stay aware of new signs or symptoms that could indicate problems. It’s important you pay attention to your penis and take proper care of it, if you notice any unusual signs, see a health care provider or Urologist before it’s late. HIV is mainly spread by having anal or vaginal sex without a condom or without taking medicines to prevent or treat HIV. Here is some information about the HIV risk associated with specific sexual behaviors i. Receptive Anal Sex Receptive Anal Sex is the riskiest type of sex for getting or transmitting HIV. It’s possible for either partner—the partner inserting the penis in the anus (the top) or the partner receiving the penis (the bottom)—to get HIV, but it is much riskier for an HIV-negative partner to be the receptive partner. That’s because the lining of the rectum is thin and may allow HIV to enter the body during anal sex. ii. Vagina Sex Vaginal sex also carries a risk of getting HIV, though it is less risky than receptive anal sex. Most women who get HIV get it from vaginal sex, but men can also get HIV from vaginal sex. iii. MouthAction MouthAction carries little to no risk of getting or transmitting HIV. Theoretically, the transmission of HIV is possible if an HIV-positive man ejaculates in his partner’s mouth during MouthAction. However, the risk is still very low, and much lower than with anal or vaginal sex. Factors that may increase the risk of transmitting HIV through MouthAction are oral ulcers, bleeding gums, genital sores, and the presence of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), which may or may not be visible. Sexual activities that don’t involve contact with body fluids (semen, vaginal fluid, or blood) carry no risk of HIV transmission but may pose a risk for other STDs. It’s advisable you use condoms. Condoms are highly effective at preventing HIV and other STDs like gonorrhea and chlamydia. Prevent Transmitting HIV Through Sex Talk to your doctor about taking PrEP. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is HIV medicine people at risk for HIV take to prevent getting HIV. If taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV from sex. PrEP is much less effective when it is not taken as prescribed. Currently, there are two FDA-approved daily oral medications for PrEP. A long-acting injectable form of PrEP has also been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). PrEP may be right for you if you do not have HIV, you have had anal or vaginal sex in the past 6 months, and you have a sexual partner with HIV (especially if the partner has an unknown or detectable viral load); or Have not consistently used a condom, or Have been diagnosed with an STD in the past 6 months. PrEP is also recommended for people who inject drugs and have an injection partner with HIV or have shared needles, syringes, or other injection equipment. Take PEP within 72 hours after a possible HIV exposure. Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) means taking medicine to prevent HIV after a possible exposure. If you’re HIV-negative or don’t know your HIV status and think you have recently been exposed to HIV during sex (for example, if you had a condom break or you were sexually assaulted), talk to your health care provider or an emergency room doctor about PEP right away (within 72 hours). The sooner you start PEP, the better; every hour counts. If you’re prescribed PEP, you’ll need to take it daily for 28 days. Keep in mind that you will not get HIV if your HIV-positive partner is taking HIV medicine as prescribed and their viral load is undetectable. Encourage your HIV-positive partner to get and stay on HIV treatment. This is the most important thing your partner can do to stay healthy. If taken as prescribed, HIV medicine reduces the amount of HIV in the blood (the viral load) to a very low level. This is called viral suppression. HIV medicine can also make the viral load so low that a standard lab test can’t detect it. This is called having an undetectable viral load. As noted above, people with HIV who take HIV medicine as prescribed and get and keep an undetectable viral load can live long and healthy lives and will not transmit HIV to their HIV-negative partners through sex. Get tested and treated for other STDs and encourage your partners to do the same. If you are sexually active, get tested at regular intervals. Having other STDs increases your risk of getting HIV. STDs can also have long-term health consequences. Reduce your number of sexual partners. This can lower your chances of having a partner who could transmit HIV to you. The more partners you have, the more likely you are to have a partner with HIV whose viral load is not suppressed or to have a sex partner with an STD. Both these factors can increase the risk of HIV transmission. Decide not to have sex. Not having sex (also known as abstinence) is a 100% effective way to prevent HIV, other STDs, and pregnancy. You can be abstinent at different times in your life for different reasons that may change over time. Know your HIV status. The only way to know your HIV status is to get tested. Knowing your status can give you important information and help you make good decisions to prevent getting or transmitting HIV. HIV Medications Many Antiretroviral Therapy Medications are approved to treat HIV. They work to prevent HIV from reproducing and destroying CD4 cells, which help the immune system generate a response to infection. This helps reduce the risk of developing complications related to HIV, as well as transmitting the virus to others. These antiretroviral medications are grouped into seven classes: 1. Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) 2. Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs) 3. Protease inhibitors 4. Fusion inhibitors 5. CCR5 antagonists, also known as entry inhibitors 6. Integrase Strand Transfer Inhibitors 7. Medication Side Effects. What’s important to remember is that every drug has a different list of side effects and it’s important to understand what you are getting yourself into before starting any new medication. You need to know your health preferences and what you can handle. These are the most common adverse events: Anxiety Substance-induced anxiety is anxiety caused by taking certain medications – sometimes even medications meant to treat anxiety itself. Anxiety can rob you of sleep, affect concentration, cause chest pain, and make it hard to eat. Digestive Woes Some digestive side effects can make it hard to get the right nutrition or can deplete your body with fluids and nutrients. Pay attention to GI problems such as diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, and lack of appetite. Dizziness Feeling dizzy isn’t life-threatening, but it can raise your risk of falls that cause injury to your body. Drowsiness Another cause of falls is feeling sleepy. Drowsiness from medication can make driving dangerous, affect your work performance, and make it hard to do daily tasks. Dry Mouth Saliva is important for oral health, and when a medication dries your mouth out, you raise your chances of getting plaque, tooth decay, and gum disease. You may also deal with mouth sores, yeast infections in the mouth (thrush), and cracked lips. Medication Side Effects Hallucinations Some medications may cause you to see things that aren’t there, and the chance of this happening is even higher if you take multiple medicines. These visions can be scary and make you act in a dangerous way that harms you or others. Headache It’s common to deal with head pain when taking medications, but headaches are worth watching. Medication overuse or rebound headaches can happen when you take headache medicine for long periods of time. Heart Problems Some medications cause faster or skipping heartbeats (heart palpitations). You may also have chest pain. Get chest pain checked out right away because it can have several causes, both heart-related and not. Pill-induced esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus) is a rare cause of acute chest pain. Insomnia When your medications make it hard to sleep, over time your physical and mental health can decline. Your risk goes up for diabetes, high blood pressure, mood disorders, weight gain, driving accidents, injuries, and falls. Medication Side Effects Jaundice Though it’s rare, too much of certain medications can cause hepatitis, or inflammation of your liver. In addition to yellowed skin (jaundice), you may notice belly pain, tiredness, and GI problems, and you might have a fever. Untreated hepatitis can damage your liver and may even need a liver transplant in rare cases. Rash About 5% to 10% of severe drug reactions are allergic reactions. Most commonly, this shows up as a rash, or hives, on your skin. Serious allergic reactions can make it hard to breathe and be life-threatening. Blisters on your lips, mouth, eyes, and genitals may be a sign of a serious drug reaction called Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Ringing Ears Tinnitus is a condition that causes ringing, buzzing, roaring, clicking, hissing, or humming in your ears. It can have a negative impact on your life, making it hard to concentrate, affecting your mood, and preventing good sleep. Shortness of Breath Bad reactions to medications can sometimes cause lung diseases such as asthma, bleeding in your air sacs, autoimmune diseases that attack lung cells, and fluid buildup in the lungs. Get medical help right away if you’re wheezing, feeling chest pain from breath struggles, or coughing as you try to breathe. Swelling/Weight Gain If your medication makes your body hold on to fluid, you may notice you have swollen arms and legs. Swelling that comes with shortness of breath, trouble breathing, or chest pain could be a sign of fluid collection in your lungs. Did you know your nails can reveal clues to your overall health? A touch of white here, a rosy tinge there, or some rippling or bumps may be a sign of disease in the body. Problems in the liver, lungs, and heart can show up in your nails. Keep reading to learn what secrets your nails might reveal. Pale Nails White nails, also known as leukonychia, describe fingernails that are partially or completely white in color. The white color could be the result of several things such as trauma, anemia, dietary deficiencies, heart or kidney disease, or even poisoning. White Nails If the nails are mostly white with darker rims, this can indicate liver problems, such as hepatitis. In this image, you can see the fingers are also jaundiced, another sign of liver trouble. Yellow Nails One of the most common causes of yellow nails is a fungal infection. As the infection worsens, the nail bed may retract, and nails may thicken and crumble. In rare cases, yellow nails can indicate a more serious condition such as severe thyroid disease, lung disease, diabetes, or psoriasis Bluish Nails Nails with a bluish tint can mean the body isn’t getting enough oxygen. This could indicate a lung problem, such as emphysema. Some heart problems can be associated with bluish nails. Rippled Nails If the nail surface is rippled or pitted, this may be an early sign of psoriasis or inflammatory arthritis. Discoloration of the nail is common; the skin under the nail can seem reddish-brown. Cracked or Split Nails Dry, brittle nails that frequently crack or split have been linked to thyroid disease. Cracking or splitting combined with a yellowish hue is more likely due to a fungal infection. Puffy Nail Fold Chronic paronychia is a condition that causes inflammation, redness, tenderness, and swelling of the skin folds and tissues surrounding the nails. It is usually the result of irritants or allergens but it can be caused by the fungus Candida albicans, other infections, or psoriasis. It can usually be treated with topical steroids. Dark Lines Beneath the Nail This nail discoloration is called melanonychia and is caused by the pigment melanin. There are several possible causes including skin cancer, infection, or injury. Gnawed Nails Biting your nails may be nothing more than an old habit, but in some cases, it’s a sign of persistent anxiety that could benefit from treatment. Nail biting or picking has also been linked to obsessive-compulsive disorder. If you can’t stop, it’s worth discussing it with your doctor. Nails Are Only Part of the Puzzle Though nail changes accompany many conditions, these changes are rarely the first sign. And many nail abnormalities are harmless — not everyone with white nails has hepatitis. If you’re concerned about the appearance of your nails, see your doctor or a dermatologist. Intimacy After Sex. Sexual intercourse is one of the most intimate experiences two people can share, but it’s not always clear how you should act afterward. Here are some ways to build intimacy after sex 1. Compliment your partner after Sex Let them know that you enjoyed sex with them. Communicating how good they make you feel can help you both grow closer and get more intimate. Remind her that she’s beautiful and let him know he’s handsome. 2. Spend time together after sex Instead of jumping out of bed right after the orgasm, spend more time with your partner. Cuddle each other and slowly come down from the high together 3. Take a shower together after sex Depending on how wild the sex got, you could be both sweaty and exhausted. Spending time in the shower together, if that’s something you’re both okay with, can help foster intimacy between you and your partner 4. Hydrate and Prepare a meal after sex Sex can be exhausting and dehydrating. After sex, you can get a drink and spend time cooking together if you’re both hungry. You can decide to order and spend time in bed resting. You can also decide to prepare the food before sex and eat after sex to make it easy but it’s all based on choice. The goal is to build intimacy after sex. 5. Have more sex Of course, one deniable way to get more intimate is going at it beneath the sheets again. Give yourselves a little break and try a new position, or try a slower, more intimate round depending on what you want What do you think about the article above, comment below, and let’s discuss something beautiful about ways to build intimacy after sex… READ MORE HEALTH TIPS: https://daxclusive.com/ Thanks |
Uterine cancer includes two types of cancer: endometrial cancer (more common) and uterine sarcoma. Uterine cancer symptoms include bleeding between periods or after menopause. Uterine cancer treatment often consists of a hysterectomy to remove the uterus (womb). What Is It? It’s a cancerous tumor in your uterus, the pear-shaped organ known as your womb. Most cases happen in the lining of the uterus (endometrium), but you can get tumors in the muscles there, too. Over 60,000 women in the U.S. get this type of cancer each year. If you’re past menopause, your chances are higher. 1. Your Genes These can play a role in how likely you are to have uterine cancer. For example, Lynch syndrome is a genetic disorder that makes you more likely to get certain cancers. Women with it have much higher odds of getting uterine cancer. But having a problem gene doesn’t mean you’ll get it. It means you and your doctor should watch for signs so you can treat it early if you do. Most women who get uterine cancer don’t have a known genetic cause. 3. Early Signs See your doctor if you haven’t been through menopause and you have bleeding or spotting — a red, pink, or white discharge — between periods. The same is true if you’ve had menopause and have these symptoms at any time. Bleeding can be a sign of uterine cancer, but it’s also a symptom of other medical problems. Bleeding after menopause isn’t normal, so it definitely needs to be checked out. Your doctor can help you find out what’s going on. 4. Other Symptoms Let your doctor know if you have: Pain in your pelvis (the area between your hips) Lost weight without trying Pain during sex A hard time peeing or it hurts to pee It’s best if you find uterine cancer before it grows or spreads, so don’t put off your checkups or ignore symptoms. Different Vagina Smells. Your vagina is an asset and shouldn’t be treated like a liability. Every Vagina has its own unique shape and scent/ smell. Your vagina has its own unique odor-producing bacteria flora. You may or may not smell your odor, if you do, it’s caused by plenty of normal odor-producing reasons. The truth is, your vagina is home to billions of bacteria. And the precise makeup of this bacteria changes on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis. The vagina scent you experience down there is:– – a combination of the normal bacteria that live in the vagina – what you eat – the state of your health – menstrual cycle – medication, along with your bathroom – your hygiene habits – or just you being you Because the vagina smell comes from within, it cleans itself. Don’t let society fool you into thinking that your vagina should smell a specific way and purchase products that eliminate odor. Subtle shifts in your vaginal fragrance are normal. Remember, the way your vagina smells has everything to do with its pH. And there are lots of things that affect your pH. Your vagina does not need to be fixed but if you notice a strong, not-so-normal odor along with irregular discharge, itching, and/or burning, it may indicate something serious and you should speak to your health care provider. Your vagina shouldn’t smell like fruits, flowers, perfumes, or any type of fragrance. Here is your medically accurate guide to vaginal odors. 1. Fishy:- (Fishy or like that trash you forgot to take Out) A fishy odor from your vagina or discharge may be caused by sweating, a bacteria infection or even your genetics, the most common cause is Vaginitis, an infection or inflammation of the vagina, or Trichomoniasis, a common and curable sexually transmitted infection that is known for its pungent fishy smell. 2. Chemical:- (Like a newly cleaned bathroom with hypo) An odor similar to bleach might be a couple of different things. Sometimes, it might be a reason to see a Doctor and sometimes, it might be a result of a buildup of urine in your underwear or around your vulva which could put off a chemical smell. 3. Sweet:- (Like Pin Pop) Continue Reading Here: https://daxclusive.com/different-vagina-smells/ Thank you. |
Laugh During Sleep. Laughing during sleep, or hypnogely, is relatively common and is not usually anything to worry about. In most cases, researchers believe that the cause is laughing at a dream during rapid eye movement sleep, which is entirely harmless. In some cases, sleep laughing has links to sleep disorders. In rare cases, hypnogely can be a symptom of a neurological disorder. Although Sigmund Freud and other prominent psychoanalysts have attributed sleep laughing to an unconscious manifestation of primal instincts and fears, experts dismiss this theory as not being entirely credible. Laugh During Sleep, Is it normal? In most cases, laughing while asleep is a natural response to something that occurs during a dream. The dream can often seem to be odd, bizarre, or not funny upon waking. Random eye movement (REM) sleep is the deepest stage of sleep, and it is the only time that people dream. It is the last stage in the sleep cycle. During this time, most people experience muscle atonia, which means that the body has shut down and is effectively in paralysis. Most people will experience sleep laughing in the second half of the night, and it may wake them up. It is difficult to measure how common it is, as people do not usually report it. However, it does seem to happen fairly frequently. One study found that 33–44% of a small sample of middle school children had laughed in their sleep at least once during the previous 6 months. The same study showed that 73% of a nonclinical sample of undergraduate students reported being aware of at least one hypnogely event per year. In most cases, it is both normal and harmless. However, some causes of sleep laughter may require closer attention. Dreams Early Freudian theories that described sleep laughing as an unconscious manifestation of primal instinct or fears have limited credibility nowadays. The most common cause of laughing while asleep is having a strange dream. Sleep partners will often describe chuckling or giggling, which tends to wake the dreamer up. Once awake, they may say that the dream was odd or bizarre rather than funny. In rarer cases, hypogeal can be a sign of another health condition. REM sleep behavior disorder People with REM behavior disorder (RBD) do not experience the muscle atonia usually associated with REM sleep. This causes them to act out their dreams with physical movements such as wild, flailing limbs. This can result in injuries to the person or their sleep partner. It tends to get worse over time. Less than 1% of all people have this sleep disorder, but it is more common in older males. It mostly affects males over the age of 50, and the average age of onset is around 60 years. People with a neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease or multiple system atrophy are up to 50% more likely to develop RBD than those without such conditions. Excess alcohol consumption or alcohol withdrawal, sleep deprivation, and medication side effects can all play a role in the development of RBD. A specialist doctor will diagnose RBD during an overnight sleep study called a polysomnogram. The most common treatment is anticonvulsant medications. Experts also recommend making the bedroom a safer environment. This involves taking steps such as moving tables, clocks, and lamps away from the side of the bed. Neurological conditions In rare cases, sleep laughing can have links to neurological conditions. As mentioned above, people with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease are more likely to experience RBD, which, in turn, can cause hypogeal. Other conditions, such as hypothalamic hamartoma (HH), can cause gelastic seizures. These are bouts of uncontrolled laughter or giggling. They can happen at any time but often occur as the person is falling asleep. HH is congenital, meaning that people are born with it. The average age of onset is around 10 months. Gelastic seizures can happen many times per day and last around 10–20 seconds. They may start with a butterfly-type sensation in the tummy, a tickling in the chest, or a headache. The person might look startled or scared and exhibit automatic behaviors such as lip-smacking or swallowing before the seizure starts. Laugh During Sleep In babies Babies often laugh in their sleep. Experts do not fully understand why, but it is very common and not usually anything to worry about. In fact, many parenting websites talk about the joy of hearing babies giggle while sleeping. Laugh During Sleep In very rare cases, it might be a symptom of an underlying health condition. A cause for concern may be if the baby is having several uncontrollable bouts of laughter throughout the day accompanied by other unusual behaviors, such as those detailed above. Caregivers should speak to a doctor if this is the case. Summary Laughing during sleep is common in adults and babies alike. Among adults, the most common cause is amusement in a dream. The cause is unclear in babies, but it is usually not anything to worry about. Sometimes, laughter may be a symptom of the sleep disorder RBD, during which people act out their dreams. If this is the case, physical movements such as flailing limbs will usually accompany a person’s laughter. In rare cases, it might signal a neurological condition that causes bouts of uncontrollable laughter throughout the day. In the absence of any other unusual behavior, however, laughing while asleep is perfectly normal. Laugh During Sleep Visit Link Fore MOre: https://daxclusive.com/people-laugh-during-sleep/ |
