NaijaCopy: Lol. Just 2 weeks ago, someone credited me #30K twice and alerted me. I didn't even know any money had been paid. The creditor (lives in Abuja) called to let me (I stay in Lagos) know of the error. I confirmed and transferred back #30K. All done in 2 minutes and I sent a screenshot.
How hard can these things be!!
I remember a completely random person credited my airtime and then called to beg me to send it back. I could sense the feeling of hopelessness in his voice as he was seriously pleading before I could even say a word. It felt funny to me. Why will I not send it back? I sent back pronto and he called back to thank me profusely.
Hmmm... Na wa for the average Nigerian o. Your type is going extinct. |

pappilo: Exactly. Pure evil and wickedness. And they will be the loudest ones complaining about bad leaders and all. Its not even a life changing amount that you'd could kind of understand the temptation.
I have made this mistake before. During my dad's funeral I paid a food vendor N400,000 twice and made a donation of N130,000 to the church twice. Guess which one of them paid me back ASAP once I raised the issue?
Na fight before I see the other amount collect from the ones you'd least expect to hang on to your money. Food vendor paid you back first.... Church counted it as double blessings... Am I right? |

Emaprince: Nigerians are very wicked and too opportunistic. When it comes to issues of money, that saint will become a two faced devil...speaking from both sides of his mouth.
I have had my own share of transferring to wrong accounts and double transfers . .In all these cases, the beneficiaries will either withdraw the money immediately ( if its a wrong transfer) or claim he or she wasn't credited twice ( if its double transfer). If I know the beneficiary, he or she will either start avoiding me or promising that he will...he will... until thy kingdom come, they won't do anything. I am usually too busy to be pursuing them around..and not interested in police because those ones will even charge pass the amount in question..cos its been 15k 25k 20k etc. The biggest was when I sent 75000 instead of 7500.. and the beneficiary disappeared from my sight ever since.
As I am typing, I received a credit alert of 50k around 2:39am on Thursday morning. I do not know who sent it. I waited on that day to see if any one will call or come to me for it. I went to a GTB branch on Friday to notify them..but there were too many customers so I had to leave. Its been public holiday since then. Now I am planning to go back tomorrow as there will be too many people in the bank today. I just want them to withdraw it incase they get a complaint from anyone.
That type of money is not actually what I am interested in. Your type is very rare in Naija of today but are you sure if the money is withdrawn by the bank, it will get back to the rightful owner? Reminds me of a case like that which happened and was shared here on NL. If you see the comments that day, it was then I realized that to get a honest person in Naija nowadays go hard gan ni o. |

jessykings: Good evening fellow nairalanders, I'm in a mess right now and need directions as to what to do. Here's the gist My friend and I visited this my former colleague at Christmas and on my way out I saw these used set of furniture (1two-seater and 2 single-seaters with a decorative stand) in her compound . Since I had just paid for an apartment after squatting with my friend for a while and needed things to stock the place, I immediately became interested and enquired about them. She told me that they were for sale that she would find out the price from the owner and get back to me. 2days later she chatted with my friend to inform her that the owner said he would sell at 20k. I wanted bargaining with her over the phone but my friend advised me to go over to her house and do that. I went there, we talked I told her how much I intended paying and she called "the owner" and informed him and told me that the owner said he can sell for 15k so we agreed on that. I told that I was going to come for them at the end of January as soon as I get my salary but she insisted I go with them and pay at the end of January since she knows me. She even used her car to help me convey the things to my friend's that same day! Now the chairs were worn out so I needed to change the foam as well as the covers, this same colleague of mine directed me to her husband's shop to buy the material of my choice to fix the chair. By the time I finished fixing the chairs, I realized I had spent almost 40k hence I was unable to pay by the end of January as agreed. I chatted her to give me more time as I had ran out of money which she accepted. Now few days ago, I was opportuned to get some money and immediately sent 10k to her with the promise to complete the payment (5k)as soon as I get my salary this same week. She chatted me to please send the balance of 20k as the owner was already on her neck. I was shocked and asked her which 20k she was talking of, she said the bargain was 30k(twice the price) and not 15k. I tried to make her remember but she insisted that the owner said I should pay the balance of 20k or return the things. There was never any mention of 30k from the onset. My friend had to even screenshot the earlier chat they had 2days after we first saw the chairs and sent to her. She vehemently disagreed that the owner wants his furniture back. Right now,at this point I don't know what to do. Please I need advice. Thanks Sorry to drag you back 2yrs o but I'm just curious as to how you resolved this. So what happened eventually if you don't mind me asking? |

azraeljaheel: WHAT IF
What if I never went through this phase in life!!!!
What if love was a trap!!!
What if I could take back the hands of time and turn back!!
What if human beings never had such baised opinion!!
What if people never had to sell drugs for a living!!
What if most who really did weren't predominantly blacks!!!
What if we could eat whatever and never become fat!!!!
What if the media had never brainwashed the kids!!!
What if love was the the reason most children exist!!!
What if jealousy was something only women possessed!!!
What if money never altered our moods when we are upset!!!
What if lies weren't the reason most people are nauseous!!!
What if we were so tough we didn't have to be cautious!!!
What if people weren't always held back by their past!!!
What if true love was something that was destined to last!!!
What if most mothers never used their kids as weapons!!!
What if people like myself weren't so emotionality sensitive!!!
What if I had some brothers who were loyal regardless!!!
What if arrogance had never made people so heartless!!!
What if we were never judged in life by face value!!!
What if regrets never stuck to our souls like tattoos!!!
What if bosses nowadays were a bit more lenient!!!
What if we could live life exactly how we conceive it!!!
What if someone had the gift of immortality!!!
What if the government never had to tax our salary!!!
What if lovers appreciated their spouse!!!
What if it wasn't so expensive to own a house!!!
What if we all had the power to bring back our loved ones!!!
What if words never scar like the bullets in guns!!!
What if just for one day there was no selfishness!!!
What if sexy didn't mean big tiiitties in blouse!!!!
What if I could shed tears instead of articulate!!!
What if I had the strength to cry at a funeral Wake!!!!
What if could be accepted for who I am today!!!!
What if no one had desires of wanting to change!!!!
What if I could make you trust me or see my intentions!!!
What if I could change your views in a matter of seconds!!
What if not wanting kids still guaranteed love!!!!
What if loneliness never got the best of us!!!
What if when i eventually close these eyes and it doesn't open
Sleepless night!!!! A lot of "What ifs". But do you know that all these "what ifs" are like hold backs to peoples? They keep one from forging ahead. We should not dwell too much on them. Just my humble opinion. Keep on keeping on bro. |
