Katsumoto: Maybe because Bayern fans have a better view of the game than most epl fans who don't see anything else aside their mediocre English league. On this forum insane comparison have been made by epl fans and even last world cup Andy Gray an English journalist was telling us only 2 German players would make the English team, these are people who form the opinions of most epl fans. Here we've seen ppl tell us Rooney is better than Muller, Joe Cole is better than schweinsteiger, comparing Ashley Cole and evra to Phillip Lahm. Less than a week ago someone quoted a post that Joe Hart is better than Neuer and cleverly is better than Reus abd Gotze. When I tell you Ferdinand is garbage and at his best was never as good as Boateng you can take it to the bank 1 Like |

Katsumoto: Ferdinand to Nesta? That's the kind of hype and comparison that makes England remain trophy less for like half a century. In comparison to Italian defenders Ferdinand would rank with Mark Iuliano and Birindelli. A 17yr old Nesta sodomized Paul Gascoigne so bad in training that he fled Italy. No defender in the history of English football can hold a candle to Nesta. As good as I think Boateng is, I won't compare him to Nesta. In the last twenty years Maldini Nesta Sammer Kohler Canavaro are my top ranked defenders. Ferdinand at best would be in tier 4 2 Likes |

barackohandso: Good! As relative as the word might mean in a given context, what criterion are you using as your basis for this comparison, trophies? Cos ferdinand has got a whole lot of them. At his age and current form, Boateng will do better, but not until. If Boateng retires today, do you A40 consider him a bayern legend? Same goes for Rio. Haba! Give honor na Performance in big games is what distinguish average players from great ones. Rio when the stakes get high becomes pure trash. Before Boateng became a pro I've always said Ferdinand is rubbish just a product of the British hype machine. Scholes one of the real talented players from England is actually the one not insanely hyped Ask the average epl fan they would be talking about Lampard and Gerrard when Scholes is the real don. Which shows many don't know football |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by dayokanu(m): 6:33pm On Jul 20, 2014 |
barackohandso: Honestly I can't believe someone who claims to have been a footie follower since the early 90s will utter a statement as the emboldened. If Rio is a useless how'd he win all the trophies he has? The WC is the biggest trophy in soccer, so you might be right about Boateng having done more than Rio, but it's still relative as the WC isn't a annually played tournament and I'm sure you count a shit-load of great players who didn't win it. If this argument was between Lahm and Gary neville, then I'd understand, but Boateng to Ferdinand? For starters, Boateng wasn't even the best defender at the WC I watched Rio at Leeds with Ian Harte, Radebe etc and he has always been average and overhyped. Wes Brown also won trophies and John oshea. Ferdinand rode on the brilliance of vidic. Vidic is one of the best defenders of the last decade and I would acknowledge this even though he plays for man utd but Ferdinand is pure garbage |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by dayokanu(m): 5:27pm On Jul 20, 2014 |
barackohandso: You should as well know that "that a player won the WC shouldn't bring comparison with every other legendary player" like you guys are doing since Germany won the mundial. Obviously boateng is better ATM but Rio in his prime was the best in the business. Some comparisons shouldn't be made! When was this Rio prime? Because for the past 15yr Ferdinand has been a useless defender. I know quality when I see one unlike most epl fans. That's why I would always respect vidic Scholes Giggs even though they play for United I would take them at Bayern in a heartbeat. It's not about present form, Ferdinand has always been a useless overhyped defender. Boateng at present has done more than Rio ever did in his career |

pkasso: So because Boateng plays well in finals we should overlook his flaws and weaknesses? You keep going on about how well Boateng plays in finals but you seem(or chose) to forget it was his fatal error that allowed Drogba to head home in the UCL final of 2011.Drogba should have never beaten him to that ball. Blaming Boateng for Drogba goal when we have a 6ft 6 van buyten who was lost in the play. Isn't it ironic that the person hammering on Boateng faults yet in the same breathe halls David luiz as a top defender. A player whose middle name is error. If with these flaws he can make great strikers like aguero higuain Lewandoski Reus Lavezzi and even Messi look like grade d footballers in a major final then I think it's a good flaw unlike your favorite defender who disgraced himself his family, his nation and everyone who had anything to do with him. 1 Like |

No wonder Bayern beat every EPL representative just last season from Chelsea to Citeh to Arsenal to Manure All of them were sodomised without condoms patrickmuf: He jumps from thread to thread looking for just about anybody to start up an argument... Me thinks he's obsessed with EPL or probably thinks every body doubts the quality of Bayern players hence the reason he's always comparing players to prove his points... No sane person would doubt that Bayern is superior to every single club in the EPL, Why should there be an argument about that. patrickmuf: Are we talking about the same Messi who destroyed Bayern some years back? That was when useless defenders were in Bayern Messi destriyed Lell, Demichelis, Breno and Oddo. Ferdinand is no better than Efe Sodje. I have always said it that he is an average defender who always gets people to cover up his mess Dadehmola: When Rio Ferdinand or anyone in his generation posts that type of performance in a world cup final get back to me. In the past 16months Boateng has played in 2 major finals CL and World cup and posted stellar performances which Rio can never do in his lifetime multiplied by 7 Even Ferdinand himself wont dare compare himself to Boateng |

pkasso: Haven't we seen this before? At the start of last season Dante was a bit out of shape and that allowed Boateng to step up.I was impressed and was beginning to have second thoughts about him.Alas it was a false dawn, approaching winter break Mr Alago returned to his former self.5tupid fouls, silly sending-offs,losing concentration.A leopard never changes its spots.Boateng might put in a good show every now and then(heck even Senderos has his good days) but deep down he is still that wack CB. Havent we seen what before? Well I have seen Boateng boss major finals for Germany and Bayern in the last 16months I would rather have a defender who beasts in a world cup final over one who embarrased his own country in the world cup semi and was crying like a bitcch in front of TV Low the German coach saw it that Biateng and Hummels are the best pairing for Germany According to whoscored.com In the CL finals, Boateng was our best player after Robben, stats attached below. In the world cup finals Boateng was our best player after Hummels IMO Boateng was even better than Hummels on the night Stats have shown Boateng is one of Germany and Bayern best performers on the biggest stage while playing in central defence And no amount of bad belle can change that

If you like make you go give Ivan Shakabula Mouth Gig, You no go see past the 4th position The only improvement would be that you would win the 4th position trophy early and comfortably since your signings have given you better quality than your opposition "4th positon trophy", "CL 2nd round exit" trophy" and top of league by mid August. A40: Is there any doubt about the bold? Mertersacker has been shamed out of the NT defence He has been given the role of cheerleader. If he had any self worth he would have retired Boateng-Hummels partnership conceded 0 goals at the world cup playing against top nations like France Argentina and Brazil. All Boateng doubters and haters have been shut up. All the face saving excuses doesnt cut again. Especially the comparison with sideshow bob jester David Playstation Luiz who cost his team at least 5 goals in the world cup. Unless there is an injury in defence, Jogi Low knows Boateng-Hummels partnership is the truth Lahms absence in the NT would really affect our play. From the first game I saw him Stuttgart vs Man Utd in 3003 I knew he was destined for greatness his calm intelligent play we would miss his sliding tackles, overlapping runs, quiet leadership, numerous assists and versatility of the "little Giant" See as he dey battle giant Jan Koller in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sCDJQUWJN8 |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by dayokanu(m): 10:54pm On Jul 18, 2014 |
The way a fullback plays in an attacking team is different. Ashley Cole plays in a defensive team. In Chelsea you rarely see their fullback ivanovic and Cole overlapping but in the German system it's more attacking and nothing is better than a winger moving, the full back is already providing an outlet creating a 2 beat 1. That's a major characteristic of full backs in the modern game. Think Alves Carlos Marcelo Maicon alaba alba Zabaleta, Nowadays a full back isn't measured by defensive qualities as much as the attacking qualities. E.g. Danni alves Unless you're a team who prefers to sit back and park the bus like Stoke city Lahm is hands down the best and most balanced fullback of his generation and would be sorely missed. I don't like this retirement but I respect his wish |

Jung Jantsche are average. Boateng can only be a makeshift right back. His best position is in the center. He doesn't have Lahm attacking verve which is a key part of a fullback job Lahm has an insane number of assists and his timed overlapping runs are one of the best in the world. It's a shock we would miss him. THE SILENCE OF THE LAHM. |

Won't it be easier to point at the goals Boateng and luiz caused their respective teams? Luiz was getting points for scoring goals which is not a defenders job. Their main job is defending. I've shown with images at least 5 goals luiz caused his nation Can you do the same for Boateng to prove your case? |
