Hope that useless CNN wouldn't have Nigeria in their tabloid again.

But of course, you can be rest assured that will happen, if it hasn't already.
TV/Movies / Hollywood Lies by dayoviews: 7:21pm On Feb 24, 2015
I don’t see alot of movies anymore. There was a time I lived for movies, and indeed lived the movies. In recent years though I have noticed certain irregularities and exaggerations in many Hollywood releases.

1. You can’t hear a chopper till its already in front or overhead of you. You also don’t hear a car coming till it bursts through a wall just before the bad guys do some bad things.

2. You can’t handle a knife or sword without making a shing sound.

3. Punches and kicks can be heard 50feet away.

4. A simple touch of a piece of paper can make a loud, rumpling sound.

5. A quick turn and your clothes could sound like a flag in the wind.

6. All the cars screech even while moving slowly.

7. Computer programmes make robotic noises.

8. The music starts to play thesame second a disc is slotted in.

Obviously, some of these are simply effects added to make certain scenes more gehn gehn-isque but when i use my common sense i realise that said scenes are too noticeable to be OK with. I guess I shouldn’t use my common sense.

Religion / The Deliverance That Wasn't by dayoviews: 12:28pm On Feb 22, 2015
There I was, kneeling at the alter. No, I didn’t slip, I was there, in that position, because the woman preacher asked that all who wanted to be delivered from spirit forces come forward and assume the position.
As I knelt before her I couldn’t help but try to decipher her words, she was speaking in tongues, you see. Shiritoribababa and the rest of them. Now, i do feel sometimes that i have a multitude of demons that drive me to say and do the things that i find myself doing. How else can i explain my degree of weirdness? I am so weird, at times the devil be like dang. Hence, the need to be ‘set free’.

Anyway the tongues session tarried for a long time till it was clear I was the only demon-possessed fellow in the church. Even the lady in the short gown that shows her back, same back I’ve been drawn to all day because of a prominent mole hanging there seems not to have any demon in her. It is well.

Finally, the preacher was ready for me — or my demons. After a lengthy prayer mixed with some Shiritoribababa I was asked to stand on my feet for I am now free. Free from all spiritual oppression and manipulation. But i didn’t feel free. I didn’t feel any different from before. In fact, I was more interested in wiping the dust off my knees. Yeah, the entire church was screaming Hallelujah, but me, my dusty knees mattered more. I didn’t appreciate the shape my shoes had taken either. Why didn’t I just stand like in other deliverance cases? Maybe that way I could be induced to fall into the waiting arms of ushers behind, to the excitement of the congregation. A squeezed clothing is better than a squeezed shoe.

So, i get to go back home with my legion of demons again. I bet most were airborne, not enough space in the car.

That was deliverance number, I don’t know, 200?

In essence, God preferred the meat over plants.

Religion / God Doesn't Like Vegetables by dayoviews: 1:57pm On Feb 20, 2015
I arrived at this conclusion because there is no place in the bible where the people offered sacrifices that were basically fruits and vegetables, nuts and grains. They only offered bulls, bullocks, Oxen, sheep etc.

And then when you read Genesis 4.. Let’s turn our bibles to the book of Genesis, shall we. Chapter 4. I’ll be reading from verse 3.

*Clears throat

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

See that?

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.

What did I tell you!

. ..And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

Now I wonder why God even had to ask that, it was rather obvious wasn’t it? Anyway…

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?

Cain obviously displeased God by bringing him such low-Carb stuff. How can the almighty, the one with all this power, eat vegetables? He needs his meat! So you see, it does seem like God doesn’t like vegetables. What’s your take though?

Wait! No wonder he put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Culture / Is Nairaland A Reflection Of Nigeria? by dayoviews: 1:44pm On Feb 20, 2015
I am not exactly new to this site though I only recently began to follow the different stories posted on here. I have (and I bet along with a lot of other people) discovered that the comment thread to different posts on nairaland are riddled with shear shamelessness, childishness, and utter stupidity. You'll have to pardon my bluntness but some of you must agree with it. Serious posts see comments such as 'booking space', '..France..' and all the rubbish. I'm all for having fun and maybe there are times that these comments are funny but most times they are not. The name of this site is unique, it draws attention to people from outside of the country's borders. Intelligent posts should be given intelligent comments, please. This is a job for the moderators I believe.
These things happen in our everyday life but mostly by a particular small group of people (not referring to tribe). But it is all too common on here. So am I mistaken when I say "small group of people"?

Before such comments follow this, think about the perception that foreigners will get when they come on Nairaland.

smiley how about a situation where you aren't aware that your boy/girlfriend was in a sexual relationship with your sibling. I don't think it changes anything. Its the heart that matters.

I hope this thread is still valid as I only just discovered it. I have been an account holder on Nairaland with Diiwana as my username. But for about two years or so I have not been able to make posts. I would like to know why this is.

P.S I haven't been a very active user. And now I'm being forced to open another account. But I really would like my old account back. Adedayoolugbemi@gmail.com is the email attached to the account.
Thanks
