einsteino:I know I'm way behind the thread, but just wanted to clarify... In the States and Canada, who pays alimony, child support, mortgage etc, isn't necessarily a man-woman thing... It's who makes the most money/the breadwinner. There are quite a few cases where the woman is the one making these payments cause she's worth a lot more than her ex-husband. And in situations where both parties make similar income... it becomes a case of making negotiations or both parties leaving with what they came with. ...It still all boils down to finding the right person. I understand your paranoia... cause being a female in Nigeria, my fears about marriage stem from how it seems to have become normal for men to cheat/have affairs. I can't condone or accept that mentality or behaviour. |
deeore:Hi @deeore @yooku @veleta @yewwwygirl and anyone else that can help... sorry for the redundant question, but what email address do we email for info on our VO, and when during the process is best to ask for the logs? |
cheapphones:Uw. Yes... I noticed the rate change plenty times over the summer... from like 1.29 in June to like 1.22, 1.19 and now 1.14 before I left. I think it might have increased a bit since then even. The xe.com charts will give you a guide to how the rates have changed. But the GTB card changes the currency at a far less competitive rate than say a US bank card or actually changing US dollars at a bureau d'change... |
cheapphones:Last I checked from using my cards in Canada- around 20th September GTB Dollar card - CDN 1.14 to USD 1 GTB Naira card - NGN 308 to CDN 1 approximate average values... varies day to day... CDN has been strengthening against the USD recently |
Faky201:Thank you for your answer Faky201. It was really helpful. I'll do the same |
Hello Everyone, I'm so happy to have found this thread. Congrats to everyone getting PPR and all the different milestones. Please seniors in the house... Sorry for coming here with my wahala again, but I'm just a bit panicky. I got ITA, and I am about to submit my e-APR, but this issue about refused visa has me perplexed. You see, I have a current Canadian visitor visa, and I only realised that I forgot to reveal I was refused UK visa in the past in my previous application form. With this EE application, I'm thinking it's best to write out the details of this visa refusal, and explain there was an error in me not including it in my last visa application in an LOE. People are telling me not to do this, as I would be implicating myself, which can negatively impact my application. But I'm afraid being banned for not including this information, or being refused for not explaining the discrepancy... Would me writing the LOE be negative to my application? Am I ko baing myself? Please help, as I want to submit today. I eagerly anticipate your opinions |
cheapphones:Yes. Thank you @cheapphones. My issue is that there would be a discrepancy between my last application (for a visitor visa) and this current one. I didn't include the UK refusal information before. Would just explaining the mistake in my LOE be enough? |
Hello house. Thanks for all the advice, I've been reading through several pages. I have an urgent question please. I have received an ITA, and filling my application while cross-checking my previous Canadian application for my current visa, I realised that for the question "Have you been refused... visa from Canada or any other country...", I filled no previously (a serious oversight as I must have assumed they meant Canada only). The truth is I was refused UK visa a couple of times in the past, but have been granted said visa a couple of times since. Do I reveal this in my e-APR application, and if so, how can I go about this so as not to get a refusal or worse, a ban for misrepresentation? Please help! Any advice is appreciated |
