hello guys, I have a gf in naija who have applied for visiting visa to the US twice and been denied. The second time she was asked to come back after 90 days that there is nothing wrong with her application (which is kinda baffling). She had all her supporting documents and an affidavit of support letter from me. I'm wondering what could be done differently before the next interview. I know this can be very difficult being a single young lady but please any advise from you guys will be appreciated. Thanks. |
obusco4lyfe: @house pls i nid 2 knw if ds is genuine....i jst got a mail nw showin me dt my appointment has been reschedule frm aug22 to aug10 nd i dint even request 4 an emergency date...pls i nid ansaIts very genuine. I need something like that too. |
hello house, does anyone here know if there are currently available dates in July/early August at the Lagos consulate? |
GboyegaD: That is much better. As at when I went last year, it was N300 to park but I want to believe it wouldn't be more than N500 now. That way, it saves you so much stress and if you can get to the embassy early enough, you can relax in your car while you wait for your appointment time.thanks boss! |
rowlandoo: ![]() I will leave very early to avoid that situation. That military compound, they collect money shey? |
GboyegaD: Why not take a bus to Obalende and then take another one to VI and drop at Checking Point and take a walk. I used to like bikes but of late, I don't think it is worth it risking your life.Is it advisable to drive down? If you have to drive down is there any place to park. I'm just considering this because of the incessant rain in Lagos presently. |
smartmachine: Dear Smartmachine, smartmachine: Dear Smartmachine,Smartmachine, my waiver was a letter head paper scanned to me with name and signature. You may request for something similar. Else you can print that email out and take with you for the interview. |
I just received a waiver letter for GRE from my school. I wrote TOEFL in January and scored 93. I bet I could have scored more if not for the sudden change of venue on the exam date which really unsettled me. Trust me its not difficult and can only make u better. Following this thread has given me so my ideas as my interview is approaching, part of it is the waiver letter for GRE cos my school didn't require it and did not know it might count against you for visa interview. Grateful for that. |
GboyegaD: While I appreciate your wanting to start again, I would also advise that until you have your VISA at hand, please be very serious with your present studies. I finished from Ife and I had friends who wanted to leave Naija then to come study in the US and unfortunately, they neither finished from Naija nor are they in the US presently. The reason was because they joined those who had similar dreams and who felt they were going to travel together in the long run and were never serious with their studies however, they were denied VISA many times. A bird at hand is worth a million in the bush.True talk my brother. A bird in hand is worth a mill. in the bush GboyegaD: If like you said it has money going in and out, then you could talk to him to talk to his account officer to help you print the statement anytime the money exceeds what is stated on your I-20. That way, you should have a cut off amount.[quote author=GboyegaD]thanks I will try and find that out. |
Hello guys How are we doing? All July interviewees lets get ready ![]() Interview coming up shortly but now I have a problem. My sponsor's account is presently depleted below the amount stated on my I-20 but he usually has funds flowing in and out of it. I'm worried 'cos I don't know if the VO will just look at the balance or go through the activities on the account. I have my own personal statement I will be taking along as back-up but I don't know if this is gonna be a problem. |
deevick246: @ All,Deevick can't than you enough! I just rescheduled to 18th July now from 31st! Could have gotten an earlier date if I had seen this earlier. b=But I must confess I was scared when I was about to cancel the initial booking . Thanks once more bro. As it stands now there are still dates till 31st from 18th July @ all |
leadzeal: @bypassit,Pls how is this a factor? Do they really check records of past visa lottery applicants before issuing student visas? |
kpolli: Please if there available dates in July or early June, lemme know asap. . .I picked the last available date in July, and I booked it last week. I don't know if earlier dates are available for now, wouldn't mind one too, I'm just afraid of cancelling my appointment. No one is answering my question from earlier post ![]() |
Hello house, this is a great forum I must say. I've been following it since like January when I started processing for my Fall Graduate admission. I've been helped a lot here I must say, even though I'm yet to go through the first part of the thread. I have an appointment for last week of July, my school resumes in September. I hope everything goes well. I could have gotten an earlier date if not that it took my school two months to process my I-20, but I'm happy I was still able to get July (mind you I scheduled middle of last week so I can confirm if July dates are still available) Anyway, I have a small issue with the bank statement. My sponsor's always making transactions in and out of that account, so the amt is always varying. The issue I have with that is I don't know if the consular checks the amount of activity in the account over a period of say 1 year or 6 mths to the interview date, or just the current balance. This will help me to decide if I should request for a statement when there is a peak amount as balance or just wait till July before I get the statement. Pls Advise. Thanks |
kpolli: How wud u have an interview date without ur I-20? How did u get ur SEVIS Id?My exact question, you took it out of my mouth. |
hi guys, I'm still expecting my I-20 from my school. I just hope its not getting too late to schedule an appointment for visa. Is it safe to go ahead and schedule appointment with entering info from the I-20? Maybe I'm just getting nervous but August is approaching fast! Pls advise guys... |
Hello all, I know I shouldn't do this but I just need some home info about the University of Rhode Island. I know its the smallest state in d States and maybe most Nigerians do not tend to study in the university but I'd love to hear from anyone who might have studied there or visited the state. How is life there, what to expect, standard of living, funding, etc. I have my reasons for choosing the school with respect to the course (masters degree) I want to study so any useful info would be welcomed. thanks |
hello all. I have a slight issue here (i don't even know if its an issue but just don't wanna take anything for granted) My sponsor who also happens to be my dad doesn't bear the same surname as I do, meaning all his accts bear that other surname. How do I prove that he's my father to the consular. I learnt it is best to use one's parents as sponsors so I'm kinda confused here. Do I simply say he's my guardian? Would that be satisfactory enough to the consular? Pls advice. |
hi all, I'm new to this thread I got an admission to URI for MSc starting Fall 2012. I've been asked to send in my CFR so they can issue me the I-20. I want to complete it and send it over asap. I'm just looking at the best possible timing to apply for the visa. Can it be too early if I do that by say next month? Thanks |

marjo:The 8 third placed teams in the UCL group stages join up with 24 teams that remain from the Europa league group stages to form another round of 32 team knock-out stage, then round of sixteen and so on, The Europa league is much more demanding than the UCL cos of the Thursday night schedules and also u play shitty teams who are hell-bent on winning, |
PLS NEED HELP WITH CHECKING HISTORY FOR THIS CAR WITH VIN : 1HGCM66547A093571 THANKS. |
Now that's a very stupid thing to say to a coach coming from a player who plays in the best league in the world, Osaz, u should show some professionalism, top players don't hit out at their coaches/managers like that duh |
Hello sir, Please help me with this VIN: JNRDR09Y52W250351. thanks |
Hello sir, pls can u help me run a check on this VIN: JNRDR07YX1W112578. thanks |
Thanks so much, you've been a lifesaver |
Kunle-A:Mr Kunle, Thank you very much, sir for your efforts. You've done prospective buyers in NLand a lot of good. I need your advice on the vehicle whose history is quoted above. I've actually gone for an inspection before I posted this VIN. It seems to be in a very good condition and I already made up my mind on buying the vehicle but was just awaiting the CARFAX report. Now I'm confused, It seems some information were not recorded about the vehicle between 12/23/2008 and 04/01/2010. The current mileage on the vehicle is 98000miles as against the 85,000 when it was last documented. Also I want to know what might have caused the car to fail emissions inspection four times consecutively and was still able to get its registration renewed in the same state. What is the consequence of a buying a car that fails emissions test in the US? I just want to tighten all lose ends and know what I'm getting myself into before buying the car. Thank you. |
Thanks! |
