@ All,

Kindly advise if the private universities in Nigeria also apply the same salary structure with the federal universities. If not, anyone with info about the salary structure for private universities in Nigeria should kindly advise.

Thanks,

Politics / I’d Be A Victim Of Revolution In Nigeria – Obj •says Kufuor, Other African Leade by dbbest(f): 3:21pm On Jun 15, 2011
FORMER president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday, at the ongoing 100th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneval, Switzerland, told the world leaders, employers and labour leaders that he would be a victim and number one target if revolution happened in Nigeria anytime from now.

Chief Obasanjo, who was speaking at a special event by the Club de Madrid, at the conference, also said former president of Ghana, John Kufuor and other African leaders would have no hiding place if the revolution that swept through the Arab countries happened in major African countries like Nigeria and Ghana.

Obasanjo, who was part of the panel of discussants at the event, said if the unemployment situation in African countries were allowed to continue and not checked and addressed, the revolution would be more severe than what was being witnessed in the Middle East

“Governments are bad or poor job creator, but they are to provide conducive and enabling environment for job creators, especially the private sector. So, governments must come together with the employers who will provide the capital (money) and labour leaders to create and provide. If we do this, I believe we will make it.

“If we don’t, the youth will be ignited and we will all be consumed. If it happens in our countries in Africa, none of us , I know that I will be a victim. My brother here (John Kufuor) too will have no place to run to,” he said.

Others on the panel were Kufuor; Mr Osvaldo Hurtado, former president, Republic of Ecuador; Mr Abdul Karim Al Eryani, former Prime Minister, Republic of Yemen; Mr Wim Kok, former Prime Minister, The Netherlands; Mr Stephen Pursey, Director, Policy Integration Department, ILO and Mr Raymond Torres, Director, International Institute for Labour Studies, ILO.

Chief Obasanjo said the ideal of sustainable and shared societies of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) could not be faulted, adding that social justice should entail what an ideal society should be.

Speaking on unemployment in Africa, Obasanjo said “it is a red alert for us in Africa. I am worried, I am apprehensive about the unemployment in our continent, which we are not taking seriously as it should be.”

Thanks CHYBLYNK. Are you saying they are scam? They seem to satisfied the first two condition you mentioned above. Their profile appears upright going by their website http://www.nobelhr.com/. But the issue is the last point you made. They are demanding for money and trying to justify that. Though is not to be paid into a personal act. The money is to be paid into the company;s name. with swift code and all other act details given.

Career / Re: I Am Confused - Job Satisfaction Or Renumeration? by dbbest(f): 8:36am On May 21, 2010
@ Poster, I am just reading through your post and I hope you have not yet taken the decision of resigning from your present job. Please don’t! 250k is almost triple of 90k. Besides, your wife will soon be through with her studies then she can relocate to Lagos with your kid. I understand your passion for career in radio presentation and all that but you can also get that kind of job with a pay that is reasonable within the range of your current pay. You see, it is easier to adjust upward than to do same downward. Talking about traffic in Lagos, it affects everybody. I don’t know where u stay currently in Lagos but with a pay of 250k/month, u can be able to afford nice accommodation in places like ebute metta, sabo , yaba n co. that are not too far from the island. Whatever the case, just think about it and not throw away 250/month for 90/month. You never know the kind of challenges that awaits you at the so called 90k/ month job. With 250k/month you can be able to make reasonable savings that can assist you in considering option of raising enough funds and start your own business in the nearest future. Just ponder about it and may the Lord bless you,

Hello House,

Any info about NDIC. I hope it is not going the way of the first test when we had to wait for close to half a year before getting the result.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ndic Second Stage Test by dbbest(f): 12:40pm On Jan 15, 2010
Having said all of these, can anybody give us insight on the following?

What is the cut off mark to be used for the test?
How many people are to be employed per area of specialisation and per cadre?
How is the quota system going to be applied?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ndic Second Stage Test by dbbest(f): 2:26pm On Jan 13, 2010
@dama22… This revelation is quite surprising! I want to believe this is not the Lagos centre because at Lagos the conduct was a perfect example of excellence as everything was orderly conducted. ID Cards were checked and the invigilators were so strict. The chief invigilator was extra ordinary strict such that mere talking attracts a penalty of 10marks deduction. Anyway, this is as far as I know and I stand to be corrected!
Those for research economist can you share your experience please….

Thanks very much. This is quite helpful.

Just wondering what type of questions will be asked for research economist bearing in mind that people from different discipline must applied for the position.

Just wondering what to read
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Info About Ndic Urgent by dbbest(f): 10:03am On Jan 07, 2010
@ Roll, are you saying theory as in written test? How do you get your info because that will mean 9 different set of questions as there are 9 categories of specialisation in the advert. I also spoke to one of the guys with FIRS and he said he doesn’t have idea as to the nature of the question.

At any rate, if your info is genuine, then it is going to be a helpful insight!
