PoliticsPsm Nig Condemns Attack On Sen.ike Ekweremadu by DBESTDFIRST(op):
PROGRESSIVE STUDENTS MOVEMENT PSM NIG CONDEMNS ATTACK ON SENATOR IKE EKWEREMADU BY IPOB MEMBERS IN GERMANY

The Attention Of The Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG has been drawn to an unfortunate yet embarrassing attack on a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria in far away Germany by members of the Proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB)

Information at our disposal reveals that distinguished Senator Ike Ekweremadu had honoured the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nurnberg only to get attacked by some unpatriotic Igbos residing in Germany.

PSM NIG Consider The attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany as a global embarrassment to our beloved country, Senator Ekweremadu had been billed to give a keynote address along with the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo.

Considering the personality of Senator Ekweramadu a former Deputy Senate President Of our beloved Country, the highest Political Office an Igbo man had attained in decades.

It is however on record and worthy of note to state without fear or favour that Senator Ekweremadu remains a leading figure, among a few other igbo senators who have consistently spoken against the unfortunate killings and kidnappings in South East and Nigeria as a Whole.

PSM NIG is calling on the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide to as a matter of urgency tender an unreserved apology to distinguished Senator Ekweramadu for the unruly, lackadaisical and nonchalant attitude of the Igbos and acclaimed IPOB Members in Germany,

Finally we are using this medium to send a strong note of warning to Igbos in Diaspora to shun acts that are capable of diminishing the hard built, industrious reputation of the Igbos all over the World. We call on all Igbos both home and Diaspora to remain peaceful, hardworking, united and loving as ever, this remains the core values of the Igbos, in our quest for a united and peaceful Nigeria.

EducationTeaching Of History As Standalone Subject In Schools Long Overdue, Psm Lauds Fg by DBESTDFIRST(op): 2:45pm On Jun 22, 2019
TEACHING OF HISTORY AS STANDALONE SUBJECT IN SCHOOLS LONG OVERDUE, PSM LAUDS FG OVER DECISION.

The attention of the Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG has been drawn to the decision of the Federal Government to implement the teaching of history in all primary and secondary schools across the country.

Information at our disposal as revealed by Mr. Sonny Echono, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education shows that the Federal Government has directed all primary and secondary schools across the country to immediately implement the teaching of history as a standalone subject from the next academic calendar.

PSM NIG wish to commend the Federal Government Of Nigeria in this regard, even though it has been long over due. We remain optimistic that the teaching Of history in schools will bring back the lost moral, religious, social, and mental values among students and youths which has been influenced by digitalization.

History as a study of past events, particularly in human affairs, will also go a long way in preparing Nigerian Students and Youths for future leadership tasks, because they already have an insight about the series of past events in the country as it has affected present either positively or negatively, aimed at projecting the future in terms of unity, peace and development.

We have no doubt that with the reintroduction of history as a standalone subject in schools the labour of our heroes past will no longer be in vain, even as this will also create additional job employments for our qualified youths!

EducationFunaabsu Honours President Buhari With #5million Worth Of Project by DBESTDFIRST(op): 10:00am On Apr 19, 2019
FUNAABSU HONOURS PRESIDENT BUHARI, NAMES #5M PROJECT AFTER HIM.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) inaugurated a car park/bus stop in President Muhammadu Buhari’s honur to mark its 30th anniversary and Founder’s Day.

The project, undertaken by the immediate past executive of the Students’ Union (SU), was inuagurated by the incumbent SU President, Comrade Popoola Ayobami, popularly known as Dasilva.

According to Popoola, the car park would be known as President Muhammadu Buhari Car Park/Bus Stop, with the aka acronym ‘PMB square’.

The two accompanying shed stands were also named; one in honour of the incumbent Vice Chancellors, Prof Felix Kolawole Salako, and a former students leader Late Rt.Hon. Oluwafisayomi Adelaja,

Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, the SUG president Comr Popoola AKA DASILVA expressed happiness over the completion of the project, describing it as a dream come true.

He also said the car park would address one of the problems of the institution.

He said: “This is going to be a welcome development because we have just been able to salvage one of the problems affecting the university, which is a key factor to the growth of the university.

“What we have just done is one of its kind, which is a landmark in the history of students’ unionism and we have not had any regret for embarking on this project.”

Before cutting the ribbon, the vice chancellor appreciated the students and the union executives for their good conduct which made the project see the light of day.

Prof Salako also described the project as one that would alleviate the sufferings of students, who usually wait for hours for vehicles after lectures.

He said: “(the project) is going to be a lot of relief for commercial vehicles going from the gate to the campus. Definitely, people are going to have a space to sit while waiting for vehicles, the commercial vehicles will also be relieved having a conducive environment to really do their work. This project will go a long way in terms of community relationships.”

The naming was done to appreciate President Buhari-led administration’s efforts to dualise Camp-Alabata Road leading to the main campus. “The road has been abandoned for years until recently when little attention was given to it. Though the road needs total reconstruction because its design was done more than 20 years ago. This cannot match the 21st Century demand on the road. So, there’s need for Federal Government, especially the Federal Ministry of Works, Housing and Power to look into this and do the needful.

“Our decision was based on the fact that we appreciate the efforts of Federal Government led by President Buhari on the anti-corruption crusade, economy and security nationwide as well as the dualisation of Camp-Alabata road leading to main campus.

“This is the first time President Buhari would be honoured at FUNAAB and this honour was carried out by students’ leader led by the number one student on campus Comrade Da Silva.

“It believes the Federal Government, especially President Buhari, will give this number one University of Agriculture in Africa and one of the best in the world, the needed attention and funding so that food insecurity could be addressed by transformative and proactive ideas from these students of Agriculture driven by technology.”

NANS CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, ASKS OTHER CONTESTANTS TO CONCEDE DEFEAT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR DEMOCRACY

The leadership of the apex students governing body National Association Of Nigerian Students NANS heartily congratulate president Muhammadu Buhari over his well deserved victory following his announcement as winner of the 2019 presidential election by the INEC chairman Prof. mahmod Yakub. This movement to victory have been made possible through the large turnout of Nigerians most especially Students and Youths who are obviously the major determinants of the 2019 Election.

NANS is however calling on other contestants, and political parties significantly the candidate of the major opposition party the PDP Alh.Atiku Abubakar to be honourable in conceding the defeat and congratulating the President Elect in the spirit of true sportsmanship and in the best interest of our democracy.

NANS is not unaware of some few itches in some parts of the country before, during and after the elections ranging from violence to attacks and killing of Adhoc Staffs, burning of INEC Offices in some States, malfunctioning card reader among others. we believe this will be addressed in subsequent elections even as we pray to God to grant the families and loved ones of all those who sacrificed their life's during the cause of the election, you will forever be remembered as heroes and heroins of our democracy.

NANS wish to specially send a strong note of warning to the international observers to kindly desist from comments about the elections that can bring about war in our beloved country Nigeria, the outcome of the election is a clear signal that Nigerians have spoken with their votes and at such NANS is imploring aggrieved parties and contestants to seek redress in the court of law.

NANS is also giving kudos to the security agents for conducting themselves in a civil and professional manner during the discharge of their duties in the election process, even though we have some few reports of violence In some parts of the country, but the general conduct of security operatives have been a non bias one.

NANS is on a final note calling on President Buhari to remain just, fair and accessible to all, Even as we expect him to extend hands of fellowship to the other intellectual and incorruptible contestants regardless of party affiliations, who can also form part of his cabinet with the aim of moving the Nation forward.

Once again Nigerian Students both home and Diaspora says congratulations Mr President.

PoliticsPostponement Of Elections, Best Interest Of Our Democracy. Nans by DBESTDFIRST(op):
INEC POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTIONS IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR DEMOCRACY, NANS.

The attention of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has been drawn to the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to postpone the 2019 general elections slated to hold today February 16th for Presidential and National Assembly to February 23rd, 2019.

NANS considers the decision by INEC to be in the best interest of Nigerians in defence of our democracy. As intellectuals we have no doubt that the decision for postponement would have been reached based on life saving information's at the disposal of INEC and not necessarily based on logistics challenges alone, as disclosed by INEC. We believe the issue of security would have also influenced the postponement of the elections considering the killing of 66 people in Kajuru local govt area of Kaduna on 15th February 2019 bearly 24hrs to the election which ordinarily is enough reason for postponement.

NANS is bidding the demised Kaduna 66 farewell and praying to God to grant the families and loved ones of the dead the fortitude to bear the loss even as we are calling on politicians to desist from politics of blood shed as no life is worth shedding for political scores.

Records have shown that this isn't the first time we are witnessing postponement in polls as something similar occurred in 2015 under the leadership of prof.Atahiru Jega, so we consider it as unfair calling for the resignation of Prof Mahmoud Yakub as INEC CHAIRMAN, even thou we frown at the manner and timing of the announcement of the postponement, but we still consider the decision to be in the best interest of Nigerians.

Its a reality that the postponement of the elections by INEC has in a great way exposed the faces of betrayals and which we expect political parties to be grateful for.

Finally we are imploring all Nigerian Students to remain most peaceful and calm as we anticipate credible polls on Feb 23rd 2019

The attention of the apex students governing body NANS, has been drawn to the recent suspension of the 3months old ASUU strike.

We wish to commend this positive gesture by FG & ASUU even though we have engaged both parties during the cause of the 3months old strike and significantly the use of the third C of ALUTA via the January 30 2019, Niger Bridge protest organized by NANS ZONE B with the full support of other zonal coordinators.

Our commendation is however based on the facts that Nigerian University students can now go back to school to continue there academic pursuit, even as the suspension of the long strike will give Nigerian students the opportunity to exercise there franchise in the forthcoming election.

Information at our disposal as disclosed by the ASUU President, reveals that government has demonstrated a commitment by meeting some of our demands" he added that the government has signed a new agreement that would fast-track the revitalisation of universities, one of the critical demands of ASUU which led to the protracted industrial action.

NANS is however passionately appealing to the FG to find a long lasting solution to the ASUP strike soonest, so as to see our polytechnic students go back to school.

PoliticsYewa Awori Get It Right Now Or Never! by DBESTDFIRST(op): 6:08pm On Feb 04, 2019
YEWA/AWORI LIVE OR DIE DON'T SUBSIST LIKE A LIVING DEAD

Live or die don't subsist like a living dead"Okeowo. The time for Yewa Awori people to think and vote right is now or never! Take a look of the analysis below:
The Ogun East senatorial District of Ogun State currently has the vice president of the Country from that axis (Remo) to be precise, while the Ogun central Senatorial District of the state is about to bow out of office as executive Governor of Ogun State, its however on record that Ogun East (Remo) Ogd served as governor between 2003-2011 after defeating Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba Of Ogun central in 2003 after the latter had successfully served between 1999-2003. Its 2019 And yet Ogun East is still gunning to be the Governor Of Ogun State for another 8years at the expense of the good people of Yewa Awori .. NO this jinx must stop! As Ogun State Clocks 43 its a call for sober reflection, its a known fact that the Ogun West Axis of Ogun state is the least developed senatorial district despite been the basic IGR generating district in the state!

Am glad that the Egba monarchs and the incumbent Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun had decided to fully support the Yewa Awori Agenda so as to kick against the long persevered injustice and oppression from the other districts in terms of governance and development. Its a known fact that Otunba Gbenga Daniel supported the yewa agenda in 2011 with Gboyega Nasir Isiaka but unfortunately Ogun people needed change, development, peace and tranquility hence the birth of EYI OWU AWI, AJIRI OMO OYE SIA as executive Governor who has no doubt truly changed the face of the state in terms of physical developments and currently supporting the Yewa Awori's Adekunle Akinlade Of APM 's agenda in the 2019 elections, this is another opportunity for my Ogun West people to unanimously speak in one voice and vote massively for a man in his 40s and willingly willing to sustain the mission to rebuild Ogun state.

GNI has only been contesting elections but not consistent in his loyalty to his political leaders what am I saying? In 2021 when GNI came in to the political circle fully yes we was a good product then because of the yewa factor but there was a divide and rule game by the god fathers and e.g. OBJ supported Chief Olurin and got the PDP party ticket from OGD/GNI and gsvr it to Chief Olurin and hence the birth of PPN which GNI first contested under but lost to SIA. After which he had issues with his former Boss Ogd, and decided to pitch his tent with Sen.Buruji Kashamu led faction not the PDP and contested for same office in 2015 while Sen.Buruji Kashamu and some other pdp candidates won GNI once again lost to the architect of modern Ogun State SIA based on his first term achievements. Hmmm 2019 is here and GNI is contesting under a new party ADC which the pillar baba ObJ has already declared and already showing total support for the PDP's presidential candidate at the expense of the ADC Ogun people are scared of this and will consider voting another Yewa Awori man AAA who is associated with victory

Dapo Abiodun: he is a serial loser and no Wonder he never graduated from OAU as previously claimed in 2015 as filled in his inec form.
Just like GNI, records show that Dapo has never won any election since attempting to serve his pocket and not the people, this is basically because the Buruji Kashamu is too sophisticated for him and one of the reasons he lost to PBK in 2015 despite getting the Ogun East APC senatorial district ticket on a Platter of gold but was mercilessly defeated by Kashamu. The fact is that nothing for Dapo Abiodun in his Ogun East! Ladi, and Buruji factor. Ogun central small thing for him because of the Osoba factor Even thou SIA will control at least 70% of the votes for AAA, Ogun west nothing for him oo because the yewa awori will vote for any of there sons GNI and AAA.

Buruji Kashamu/Ladi Adebutu : either of them that finally contest the election will be the third force in the 2019 Ogun state elections he will be the omisore of Ogun politics they are most capable of playing a significant role even as APM is awaiting LADO to fully support AAA on the movement to victory and that will be case closed. The election is between Justice and injustice and justice must prevail with APM AAA in Ogun state.

A. Adekunle. Akinlade: a serving house of reps member enjoying the support of the Ogun Governor SIA, a true yewa Awori man, one who truly won the Ogun APC primaries but was cheated by the APC cabals and decided to moved to APM for the purpose of sustaining the mission to rebuild Ogun State, he has no issues about his certificate and less controversial like other contenders and no doubt he is moving to victory.

EducationNans Set To Shut Very Busy Niger Bridge Over ASUU Strike. by DBESTDFIRST(op): 11:56pm On Jan 24, 2019
NANS ZONE B DECLARE SHUTDOWN OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES IN THE MAJOR CITIES OF SOUTH-EAST AND SOUTH-SOUTH AS THE LAST OPTION IN 3'Cs!!

In line with the revolutionary calls by the Students Congress in the zone, as the Coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South-East and South-South region hereby announce operation "NO MOVEMENT" between the head Bridge that connects Delta State Capital in South-South and Onitsha in South-East as a sign of expressing our pains and sufferings as students inflicted on us by the government we had enthrone with Epileptic Educational System in Nigeria.

It is no longer news that NANS have exhausted her two Cs out of the three which is Consultation and Consolidation approach and are left with the nothing than the 3rd C which is Confrontations. It is horrible to note that our Governors are not taking us serious, our Representatives are only interested in elections, the lecturers are now business men and women and the government are not showing signs of seriousness, this is unacceptable to us as a region in this election period.

We have done our consultations with Stakeholders, the National and Zonal Executive Council Members of NANS in Zone B and other Zonal Coordinators colleagues , the JCC Chairmen and our Senators(SUG Presidents), we shall be occupying the Niger Bridge on the 30th of January 2019 for three days.

We enjoin the greatest Nigerian Students to please come with stoves, rice and beans as we shall fish from the River Niger, cook and eat at the major road.
Its should however be noted that;
1.All SUG and other Aluta Vehicle's tyres shall be deflected at the Niger bridge, to show how unhappy Nigerian Students are.
2.We call on the Zonal leadership of NPF in SS/SE to cooperate with the Zonal leadership NANS ZONE B as Nigerian Students Leaders embark on this struggle of liberation, emancipation and freedom for all Nigerian Students, without violence.

3.We shall remain resolute and keep wake for three days until the strike is called off.
4. Let it be known that this is not a politically influenced or motivated struggle and not aimed at witch hunting any individual. We can't be at home while election is taking place in Nigeria.

It should be remembered that Nigerian Students struggled to partake in INEC Registration in our campuses, the politicians are no longer taking us serious as a body because they think our voting strength have been reduced and they are saving money to BUY our PVCs as votes but We shall resist them!

The action is however necessary in order to take our destinies into our own hands so that ASUU /ASUP and FG will understand that we can't be disinfranchised in Nigeria democracy as students.

Enough is Enough!!!.

Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win!!!.
