I recently brought back my son (to Nigeria) who has been on an F1 student visa in the states to continue his education here in Nigeria.

If he needs to apply for a visit visa to the states, will he be eligible for “drop box” or he’ll need to book an embassy appointment?

No. You can stay in the country for the duration of your program. If you leave, though, you will need to renew your visa to re-enter the US.

Call the airline with your booking reference so they can confirm the rate charge in NGN and you can either pay online or over the counter.

Hello VO, my son's F1 visa will expire in April 2017 but he'll still be in school in the US. Would he need to come back home to renew his visa or can his passport be shipped down so I can apply for a renewal for him (considering he's qualified for drop box), or can he wait it out till his school's summer break when he comes back home to renew same? Appreciate your feedback. Regards
