There was fracas Monday at the international terminal wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos when two airmen in charge of traffic control at the departure section of the terminal beat a Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) staff to coma.

It was learnt that the FAAN staff, Mohammed Shuaibu who works at the protocol and pa$$ages of the agency told his friend to come and pick him at the airport, but when he arrived the airmen moved to remove the plate numbers of his car for parking longer than necessary. But at that moment Shuaibu came in and begged the Nigerian Air Force personnel not to take away the plate numbers.

According to an eye witness account, Shuaibu who was wearing FAAN staff uniform introduced himself and showed his identity card but an argument ensued and there was confrontation and the airmen descended on him.

Shuaibu was beaten by the airmen until he collapsed with blood oozing from his nostrils and he began to lose his breath as his heart beat slowed, sources said.

Few days ago, news broke about the decision of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to remarry.

Immediately the governor stepped out with his wife, the social media went ablaze with various misconstrued information and rumors which the latter later made clear how untrue some of these information were.


Here are three things a lot of Nigerians got wrong about the comrade’s wife;

1. Her real name is Iara and not Lara. The name starts with the letter I.

2. As against the rumor that she is an Ethiopian, Governor Oshiomhole made it known that his bride is from Cape Verde.

“I have seen a lot of publications, some saying that she is Philippine, Dutch and several others, but she is from Cape Verde. And that is part of West Africa. And I hope that will rest the debate of where she is from,” he said regarding her nationality.

3. It was also made known that Iara Fortes-Oshiomhole was a former top model but Oshiomhole during a thanksgiving service held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Auchi said her new wife has never been a model.



“When I read newspaper stories and they say that Comrade has married a ‘top model’ I’m like maybe it’s another person. “The lady that God has directed to my path and heart to marry is not and was not a model. Of course, she looks beautiful and I understand that is why people assume that this kind of a lady must be a model but of course, she is a model in my heart and we hope and pray that we will be models in the heart of our God and I think that is the most important thing,” he said.

The 63-year-old governor married his beautiful wife on Friday, May 15, 2015, five years after the death of his first wife, Clara.

March 12, 2015 was a day not to be forgotten in Lagos state as armed men dressed in army uniform stormed the First City Monument Bank in Lekki, killing police officers and innocent citizens.

Four of suspects involved in the deadly robbery in March have reportedly been arrested by the police.



Reports has it that the suspects were arrested in Delta, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo and Osun states following a full-scale investigation propelled by the police immediately after the incident.

Two iPhones stolen from the scene of the robbery were recovered from the suspects. Police say investigation is still ongoing.

Recall that the governor of Lagos state Babatunde Fashola had faulted the President Goodluck Jonathan for the robbery success saying over 2,123 police officers that would have helped to quell the incident were all deployed to protect the President.

Few weeks after the incident, dare devil armed robbers attacked five banks in the ancient city of Owo, capital of Owo local government area of Ondo state, and killed six people including a bank manager and his a$$istant.

The trekking trend in honour of politicians who won the concluded Nigeria’s 2015 general elections has taken a new dimension as a 200-level student of the Open University of Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Iyoke trekked from Aba to Nsukka to honour the Enugu State Governor-elect, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the trekker arrived Nsukka town at about 1:02 p.m. on Saturday.

Iyoke, who hails from Ukehie in Igboetiti Local Government Area of the state, told newsmen on Saturday in Nsukka, that he took off for the journey from CMS road in Aba on May 4, at about 4: 30 a.m and then arrived Nsukka five days later..

He said “I did it to honour the governor-elect of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; we have been waiting for long for a governor of Nsukka extraction.

“I started my journey on Monday by 4.30 am, it was full of joy; I was not told by anybody to embark on this journey”.

Dressed in a polo T-shirt, shorts and white sneakers, Iyoke said Nsukka people had suffered marginalisation for a long time, adding that ”it’s somebody from Nsukka that knows the needs of Nsukka people.”

“There is no good roads and electricity in Nsukka; only the people from Nsukka know the needs of Nsukka people. Nsukka people have been marginalised for a very long; I am happy that Nsukka man has been elected governor of Enugu State. This small signpost on my hand were many when I started this long trekking, I dropped many of them along the roads I pa$$ed. At night, I look for where to sleep in order to continue the journey by 4:30 a.m. the next day.”

As terrorists continue to scamper following relentless pursuit by Nigerian troops, they have often left sensitive materials including arms, ammunitions, ICT gadgets and video recordings behind.

PRNigeria gathered that many of the video materials captured by the troops are currently being analysed by military experts.

Some of the videos included recording of scenes of trials, beheadings, executions, stoning, floggings and those taken during preparations for suicide attacks.

A military source informed PRNigeria that capturing such recordings was another major feat in the battle against insurgency as it was a tool used to really terrify mostly civilian population and cow them into submission.

The source added that “Some of the video were meant for release through their normal channels to the public before they were dislodged from their camps. They also show the barbaric life in their so-called caliphate”

“The media and the public are advised to be careful in handling or sharing sensitive and offensive videos depicting atrocities that some viewers may find disturbing,” the concluded.

Since they invaded Sambisa Forest a few weeks ago, Nigerian troops have liberated about 1,000 women and children from the various terrorists camps already dismantled.

There have been tales of woes and great distress from many of those rescued from the terrorists about their reign of terror and lately of despondency within the ranks of the insurgents.

When contacted on the discovery of video recordings, the Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said “A number of vital materials, apart from arms and ammunition, have been recovered which are being subjected to intelligent analyses. We don’t want to say much about that now.”
