Remove the restriction of business address, the restriction on your principal place of business from being exposed is what attracts the additional N25,000.

Moving forward, as long as your application is not showing queried but pending then you will have to be patient. The CAC has started responding to some applications, like the limited companies is getting faster and I know the business name and incorporated trustees will follow suit. Just make sure that you are checking your portal and mail constantly.

The service on the CAC portal has not been favourable for a period of time, however, they issued a statement yesterday via their Facebook that they intend to resume the 4 hours name approval and 24 hours registration for both business name and limited liability company registration. Let us watch and hope they keep their words.

Please how do we file business name annual returns online since physically visit to the Commission’s premises for submission has been suspended due to Covid. I physically file my annual returns every year but it's not clear on their website on how to go about it.

Filing of annual returns can be done via the post.cac.gov.ng platform for all post-incorporation and post-registration filings, for now, i do not know whether the public or individual users have access to the portal but I know accredited agents do have automatic login into the portal. If it is urgent, you can either contact CAC directly or contact a CAC Accredited Agent/Firm.

Firstly, the nationality query is based on the presenter's information. You will have to edit your personal data and properly fill the information.
Secondly, the supporting document that has not been asked for should be replaced with just the valid ID Card, passport picture and signature only.

I'm asking because my business name was approved since 25th of Nov and I'm yet to register the company. I just want to do that now but I don't know where to click on my dashboard to get started.

The standard timeline for the reservation of an approved name is 60 days. However, if you have started the registration or the incorporating process and have paid the payment/filing fee, that means the approved name cannot be taken from you, even sometimes when a presenter commence a filing process before the 60 days reservation period expires but have not paid the filing fees or concluded the registration process, the EDMS portal will still retain the process.
In your case, just click the reserved column of the name reservation section and start the registration process, if the filing process is not starting then you will have to revalidate the name approval again.

Please how long does it take to get approval from cac for a business name, my dashboard has been showing pending approval for 2 weeks now. Do i need to visit their office? I attached a screenshot of my registration page.

Presently, there is no standard timeline for registration but they will respond to the applications in due time. I have some applications that were registered within 2-3 days and i have some in 2-3 weeks. It all depends on the system of operation of the CAC personnel but one thing is sacrosanct, they will respond to all applications.

They will definitely respond to the application, that is if they haven't already responded, I also have some applications that are delayed but they are responding bit by bit. The thing with queries and the CAC is that they have a standard and there are statutes that dictate how company applications should be filed and filled. If there is a default in the process, the CAC will definitely query it. You just have to make sure you respond to the queries appropriately.

Hello everyone, please i did not like the approved name i was given when i registered dec so i abandoned it and i am raising the same name in another way, hope the forst reservation is expired and wont affect the new one thanks.

If the name was approved in December 2020 that means the approval will be expired around February 2021 depending on the actual date of sending the name for name approval. This is March 2021 and the approval will have expired, however, if someone else has submitted a similar or identical name to what you initially submitted after the mandatory 60 days grace have elapsed, you will not be getting the name because CAMA 2020 states that after the 60 days of reservation and the presenter chose not to register the approved name the Commission is at liberty to approve the same name or a similar name to someone else. It all depends on who comes first or who applied first.

Please i recently created CAC-CRP Account with my details and I tried applying for name reservation for my friend, unknown to me that my profile will be used as part of/or the proprietor. Please is there a way this can be modified as the Business name reservation belongs to my friend and not me.

I hope you have not paid the filing fees/payment for the application. It is only an accredited agent portal that is empowered to register for others excluding himself in the application, an individual or public user portal can only register the company or corporate entities of the initiator of the portal. Therefore. your name will always pop up in all registration on your public user portal.
There is only one way to remove yourself if the filing fees have been paid. Wait till the company is fully registered by CAC, then you can apply for removal of proprietor.

Firstly, change the nature of the business to a vocation or form of business, not the occupation of the proprietor. For example, instead of using teacher you can use teaching, instead of a bricklayer you can use bricklaying and block making etc. It is always about the vocation or form of business and not the occupation of the proprietor.

Secondly, change the date of commencement of business to the particular day you are filing the application. According to CAMA 2020, a business must register its business name with the Commission, within 28 days of commencement of business. Therefore, the proposed business name under registration must be a going concern.

Please this is the second time Im getting my registration queried. It was queried on Friday, but because I didn't get a pointer to what should be corrected I ran through the details I submitted and resubmitted. Behold, the query notification popped up today again with no reason for the query.

Please what could be the possible reason?

Firstly, I will advise that you use a laptop or a desktop to access your portal, that way you will be able to access the query raised.
Secondly, make sure you thoroughly fill in all the necessary details required, most importantly, the nature of business must not be too vague and must be straightforward.
Thirdly, for a business name, the valid ID Card all proprietors involved, their signatures and passport pictures should be clear and appropriately uploaded. The ID Cards in PDF format while the passport picture and signature in JPEG format.

If all the necessary things are done, the CAC will definitely approve your application.
