He was outrightly sold to this Bulgarian club.

Joebie:
Musa Muhammed is a super regular in Bulgaria though. We’ve also forgotten he was also in great form at the AFCON U20. His parent club Beseksehir has been a consistent title contender since they were promoted to the Turkish top flight about 3 seasons ago. The deal is not bad one if he can eventually fight for a spot there after his loan to Plovdiv expires in June. Let’s not also forget MM did not do badly when he was capped by Rohr.

All I need him for is his set pieces. That boy de play freekick and Pk die.
Wish you can just substitute for setpiece and then you take the person out again - just as they do in nfl for field goals. E for make sense. I expected this boy to be killing it in Bulgaria by now. Expected Ludogorets to be eyeing him by now at least.

Icon4s:

He has simply not raised his game well enough as he progresses with age.

U17 performances flatter to deceive a lot of people. Some people here would understand me better now.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 4:35pm On Apr 23, 2018
There's a difference between direct freekick and in-Player cross. What Moses attempted was to cross for a header. Although, Mikel (Ighalo) whoever it was, was not offside, but their movement impaired the goalie's view.
That attempt should not be categorized under freekick but rather a cross.

SerVik:

I think Moses scored a FK in the Afcon qualifier against Cameroon that was ruled out as off even though mikel(the player that was off) didn't touch the ball.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 4:21pm On Apr 23, 2018
Ah ah... I know it's not that much, but Amuneke scored from a corner kick against Italy in 94 even though it was sha scrambled. Also Yakubu scored a pk against South Korea in that forgettable game in 2010.
Sorry to correct you in the event someone has also responded. I just de read de go.

Icon4s:

Has any Nigerian ever scored from a free-kick in any World Cup?

Has Nigeria generally scored from any form of set piece, be it corner or indirect free kick?

We have not even won any penalty.

Still scratching my head.

As long as we cannot get goals except from open plays we will continue to struggle in major competitions like the WC.

How do you take a hateful and despicable website like ANS serious? A website that said a Nigerian player (we all know is Moses Simon) came back with a contagious disease to Gent, a website that prides itself in doing team of the week for under-16s in England (smh), a website that always quarrels with all other websites, a website that if you give a different view on Twitter then you are blocked - you take them serious. O boy allow God use oooo. You can tell they have beef with DMW and Rohr may be close to DMW.

Rohr Forcing Nigerian Players To Sign Contracts For World Cup Spots, DW Sports Agency Breaches Fifa Rule
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr may be involved in some underhand dealings that will jeopardize the chances of the national team performing well at the 2018 World Cup.

The German is imitating Nigeria 1994 World Cup coach Clemens Westerhof, who forced Emmanuel Amuneke to sign for Duisburg and coerced Daniel Amokachi to join Club Brugge over Anderlecht who were also interested in his services.

There are rumours that Rohr has joined forces with DW Sports Management to force Super Eagles players to sign representative agreements with the French-based agency or be omitted from the roster for the World Cup.

It is confirmed that Rohr visited Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon in Russia and Belgium respectively and few months later the two wingers joined the stable of DW Sports Management.

This website can confirm one hundred percent that the Gent winger was financially induced by DW Sports Management before he penned the representation contract and will pocket a percentage of the commission if he joins a new club after leaving Belgium and this is a breach of Fifa's rules banning third parties from influencing the transfer of players.

Bursaspor defender William Troost-Ekong was also approached to join DW Sports Management but he refused their overtures despite Rohr surprisingly handing him the captain's armband against Poland last month in a pre-World Cup friendly.

DW Sports Management also handles the affairs of Henry Onyekuru, Mikel Agu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Brian Idowu and Abdullahi Shehu, bringing the total number of World Cup bound players they manage to seven and counting.

English-based agent Tony Harris influenced the naming of Reuben Gabriel, Michael Uchebo, Ahmed Musa and Uche Nwofor in Nigeria's 2014 World Cup squad and the national team lacked a quality bench in the mundial, they struggled to qualify for the last sixteen before they were eliminated.

In the light of the foregoing, Rohr and DW Sports Management's antics will affect the Super Eagles performance in Russia if they are not cautioned by the Nigerian Federation.

So the fact Mikel was a DM for club overruled the fact that he was traditionally an AM for us? Yahaya would never be considered as a WB for Naija the same way we would never consider V. Moses a WB for us. Alaba is a WB for club but AM or CM for country.

@Tbab123, this paragraph is not directed to you but @Clementoke, (Idk how to quote numerous responses on this NL. It'sa struggle here lol), at the under17s African Nations cup in Morroco, Ifeanyi Matthews was the AM. Failed the test for the Dubai WC and Abdullahi Alfa came in as an AM/CM. He switched a lot with Yahaya. In the under 20s Afcon in 2015, Matthews was primarily the AM while Idowu was the DM until Nwobodo emerged and altered the formation that made Matthews play CM more. But at the WC in New Zealand, due to the presence of Yahaya, the game against Brazil, Matthews played CM and yahaya AM until his injury. For MFM Matthews was their AM, but at Pillars because of Rabiu Ali he had to play CM/DM. In his initial days at Lillestrom, Matthews started out as an AM but moved to CM the next season.
I grouped him as an AM cos that's the position he started out as. I hope to find the article where Manu Garba praised him and said his pass is almost half a goal. Is he a CM now? yes, but does he have the technical ability to play AM? yes. You get my drift now?

tbaba1234:

What about Yahaya, he is now a right back.

I'm not referring to your initial AM tussle you were discussing referencing Ebere Eze. I'm looking at it from a bigger pics. We tend to want all these players, but truth is that Naija is also very competitive and a domineering int'l career is not guaranteed for somenof these FBs players... But to your question, at the moment, 2 AMs. But in the future (2 to 3 yrs), we'd have about 4. Nwakali, Ifeanyi Matthews, Yahaya etc. Now if we want to start living in fantasies like @Forgiveness, then we could start adding guys like Lookman, Ejaria, Onomah and it starts becoming herculean for all of them to play regularly for us.

tbaba1234:

How many attacking midfielders do you have in your team?
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 5:07pm On Apr 03, 2018
Guy you just made much sense. Naija has a very competitive team. I'm not even thinking Aina may have a very flourishing SE career. It may be erratic cos most of his competirions are around his same age

COOL10:
. This is the same mentality the English used in grabbing our players, thereby caging them and putting their international futures on a standstill. Just look at Tammy and the rest. Now what if Eze is capped by Nigeria and the same thing happens to him? What if he plays just one game for us and doesn't get to play again just because we were too impatient and fast to get him on our side. What happens then? Sometimes we should learn to be unselfish and also think of the players. If picking Scotland over us will favour him better and get him more games,I'm okay with that. It might not be good for the SE team but his own success and happiness should also be thought of at some point because he's a Nigerian and we all should wish him the best.

I dunno why all of a sudden we are grossly underating Poland. This is a team that only lost on penalties to the reigning Euro Champions, drew and played a great game against Germany at the last Euros, tied against Uruguay at the last friendlies window, scored for fun during the Fifa WC qualifiers, and have some decent players. Poland is a good team, they may not have so many WC players, but as a unit they are quite formidable.

But two years ago, Poland drew with Germany in the Euros. Football is not a math sports. In 1998, should Naija have ever beaten Spain? No but we did. Maybe bookmakers can say and predict "sure Spain should beat Naija", but on the game day, Naija may just wallop Spain and vice versa. But this is my answer as a Nigerian.

Just as he was bad against Lyon in the Europa league second leg with a goal. Okayooooo. Lemme ask, did you watch the game with an already premeditated bias before the game or based on his actual performances in the game? Cos Musa has come and been balling well and gradually the CSKA coach is phasing out a certain Vitinho who was almost untouchable.

I was referringto starts. He hardly gives more than 2 fresh starts except the occasion warrants e.g. (injuries, absentees)

Joebie:
Aina would come in for either Ebuehi or Idowu. What's conservative about that. Don't forget Aina debuted before Idowu. What do you have to say about Joel Obi?

Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 8:54am On Mar 27, 2018
This goes to show that Rohr is a very conservative coach. He doesn't just change his teams for the mere fact of changing it. That's why i fear for Aina breaking in. Now he's trusting Idowu, it's gonna be tough for Aina. I even thought an Awaziem or Omeruo would have started in place of Balogun. Well things could still change in 7hrs before the official starting list is out but I doubt it as he tends to start with his last training team.
I just feel for Aina and the other CBs.

I am greatly mystified that a team with, Mascherano, Otamendi, Fazio, Banega, Le Ceslso, DiMaria, Aguero, Dyabala, Higuan have to look up to Messi. It's just ridiculous! Argentina need to get their acts right. This is last chance for that whole team to win the WC as they are all in their relevant thirties.

Icon79:
True, but you also gotta consider that Pele's first two of the three World Cup titles came with, perhaps, the greatest national team of all time. You can't say the same thing about Messi. Today, Messi is being looked up to do it all by himself. But nobody has ever done it by himself - FACT. Diego Maradona, for instance, had the likes of Bruchaga (sp) plus one of the best coaches of all time.

Remember that, like Messi, Diego Maradona carried his team to the finals of the World Cup but he didn't score any goals in the finals .... he depended on others to step up, and they did! Today, the likes of Higuain, Aguero, etc would leave it all for Messi. And Angel DiMaria would conveniently got injured anytime the Argies have an important tournament.

I'm telling you. I'm just using corner eye looking at people calling for him to play AM. He'd just be taking shots and doing solo runs. How I wish all Naija players were as selfless as Sergio Busquets. The only suggestion I can think of for Moses, is to have Naija wear Chelsea jersey to see if he'd be passing the ball more often. Maybe cos it was a friendly and he doesn't care that much. Also, he should stop chancing Iheanacho in some cornerkicks and freekicks. He should learn to share.

Mujtahida:

He would have killed off some of our counter attack had he played in the Argentina match. He should grow up abeg. I used to defend him but let him think more of the team.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 8:58pm On Mar 26, 2018
No vex it's just that "it took some seconds to clear the ball". I am just trying to explain that cosbof his height he couldn't clear that ball any earlier.

MetalJigsaw:
Bro, why do you speak as if I just said Balogun isn't good? But bekong is vigilant what of that
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 8:49pm On Mar 26, 2018
Why do I think Moses kills our cohesive team work. If Vic Moses was in the field against Argentina in the second half we would never have seen those fluent moves. I know he can change a game but sometimes he gotta be more of a team player. Quick releases, one-twos, and faster passes. If he starts doing these things in addition to his dribblings he'd be phenomenal in Russia.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Dedebanky85: 8:35pm On Mar 26, 2018
Jeez! What do u want him to do again? There was no way he could have cleared that ball at any other height given his own physical height. We act like these guys are super human. Bro they are flesh and blood like us. Uzoho rushed out for the ball and blinded everyone including the Polish players. Why didn't the Polish players act super human and bundled the ball in? Lemme bounce a ball at that height and tell me if you wont adjust your body to clear it. Kai we should be fair on these guys.

MetalJigsaw:
I think it's better if Ekong is at the center because of his positioning, concentration and vigilance. It you rewatch the Argentina and Poland games you'll see that most of the crosses that were made into our box, Ekong was always there to head them away. And he blocks a lot of shots too- quick shots that could beat Uzoho and into the net. And he's very agile more, than Balogun.

Uzoho needs a very vigilant and focused CB in front of him for obvious reason.

Balogun loses concentration sometimes and that's what caused the controversy about the Poles's claim for a goal.

As the ball bounced onto his chest he wasn't quickly aware as it come to him. It took some seconds to clear the ball which is already heading to the net.

What has Nwakali done that merits him a call to the SE he is playing in Aberdeen but he is not the stand out player.

On the other hand Efe Ambrose is the stand out top three central defender in the Scottish premiership league. Has anybody called him to the SE I wonder why ❓
