It was decades ago in the university. One of our lecturers deliberately made every student come to the front of the hall and defend our answers to a question he asked.

I can still remember the fear that year. And yes, 90% of the entire hall fear- which surprised me then, because so many people that say you are shy and make Jest of you , actually have shyness in themselves. Somebody even fainted when the lecturer did not bulge....

The day came for me to talk in front of the hall - being the supposed shy est (forgive the English) guy in class.

I actually tried Sha. The man was asking questions and I was answering - stammering of course. But I noticed, the more I talked, confidence was building.

I felt so excited that day. It felt good. I discovered that shyness is like your mind trying to harass you. Most of the things that make you shy are imagination within yourself..

I believe that teachers right from primary and secondary school should with wisdom, train students on how to deal with it- most times, it is. Others that help you deal with it- parents, teachers, friends... Etc.

We understand it is a joke but you people should be careful with jokes regarding election especially voting this excuse of leadership we have presently.

First of all, I salute you for your excellent service to our fatherland. You were a motivator, a soldier's soldier, an officer that any soldier can take a bullet for, a great general and gentleman.

However, I want to say, I am very disappointed in you and that interview you granted to the aforementioned TV station.

One point I always made in service decades ago is that for professionalism sake, soldiers should not be involved in political appointments, especially the ministry of defence.

During the military era, effective as it was (that you had someone that could access government), it was a channel of stealing funds meant for military equipment. Maybe that's why the late Gen Buhari handled it personally as civilian president.

How can you Sir, a distinguished general, be making political predictions knowing fully well of what soldiers are facing under this administration and the security challenges, for goodness sake? I'm simply shocked. Anyone that knows you in service will equally be shocked.

Subsidize your local production.

You are subsidizing your multi nationals. Your big businesses. Before your people experience direct gain of subsidy removal, your big corporations for instance,will have to have made their profits (which they are doing but will not admit that , but will still complain about operating cost to justify continued high pricing of products).

Reward local businesses. For opening that barbing saloon, for instance, there should be a non negotiable grant that will come to you for every confirmed monthly operation. There MUST BE tax relief for your local businesses. Ask any local business owner today .You are still yet to see the benefit of your Tax laws that you celebrated beginning of the year. If taxes are so effortlessly collected, we should not wait a year to see dividends.

That among others is what the ordinary citizen want to see to justify removal of subsidy. You claim reforms- that the common man will have to face the realities of higher cost of commodities, meanwhile, you have NEVER SEEN your local government chairman buy fuel from your filing stations. His expenses are budgeted for. And you think people will see the reforms as just?

The opposition is the primary reason Tinubu will win massively in 2027.

It pains me to say it.

It's more of sentiments rather than practical arguments.

The move of subsidy removal was agreed by all major parties in 2023. Tinubu foolishly did his own, howbeit riskily, bringing the hardship we experienced today.

If there is an argument against Tinubu, it's how they will operate it better - better still put pressure on the actual distribution of the money realized from the subsidy removal and it's use (which the finance minister did days ago). Any economist will agree with Tinubu's economic policy. The average Nigerian won't. Opposition is to push for more clarity and expose the apparent loopholes. Not to publicly come and discredit subsidy removal.

That move by Atiku just won economic sympathy for Tinubu and his (Atiku) political strategists should know this.

Next to police, Nepa staff are one of the most undisciplined folks ever.

Even to whatever they have changed to today, they constitute a nuisance. Some time ago, one of my boys almost gunned down some of them- HOW CAN YOU PUBLICLY TELL THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE AGAINST CORRUPTION AND THAT NO ONE SHOULD PAY FOR THE FIXING OF IKEJA ELECTRIC LINES, AND YET OFFICIALLY, IN PUBLIC, THEY ARE DEMANDING MONEY AND REFUSING TO RECTIFY THE FAULT FOR MONTHS BECAUSE THE RESIDENTS INSISTED ON THE RIGHT THING!.

I can list so many instances. And you will report to the highest authority to no avail. I personally visited their head offices (under disguise). Do you believe that they don't sack erring staff? Even people that have been reported to be criminal elements are still working for them -- and they expect the system to favor them when they retire? They must be mad.

It is the women themselves that should be speaking up against this rubbish.

There is no wrong in bride price (which is usually generally cheap) but there is usually a "bridal list" which is amounts to extortion. It should be reasonable. It is believed that marriage is a life time commitment and unity between the two families. But some (usually from the brides side) see it as an opportunity to cash out

Being head of my family, I personally stopped that rubbish with my younger ones trying to take stupid advantage of the suitors of our daughters. (S/S).

I don't stand against bridal list, but it must be reasonable.
