kn23h: Afam4eva, you yourself are a tribalist. You're not holy.
We can start by
1. Not moving Biafra thread to homepage - let them discuss Biafra on BiafraSay. That thread ends up being anti-Yoruba because your people can't do without mentioning Yorubas as if we're holding them down with chains.
2. Stop being partial. You get banned for saying 'osu', but you get frontpage for screaming 'afonja'
3. You get banned for posting anti-ibo pictures, but anti-Yoruba pictures get likes.
While you were a mod, a terrible one at that, you and that tout in cultural section, did nothing to end tribalism. You fed it. Now after firing you, you want us to sympathize with you abi? I noticed that you've been groveling for the past couple of months. Pele.
You were able to comment on Yoruba/Biafra matter, while Mynd44 was reprimanded for the same thing.
Check all the sections they made Ibos a mod. Seuun just let these people mess up his forum. Ori e wambe |

I believe in a restructured Nigeria where we shall recognise and celebrate our differences. Now i am beginning to believe you are not Yoruba |

9jakool: Yorubaland is stable enough to attain its full potential. Most of the religious and political strives plaguing much of Nigeria are not common in Yorubaland. An independent Yoruba state has a full potential to succeed. It's perhaps one of the least exploited areas in Nigeria. Yorubas have the longest coastline of any ethnic groups in Nigeria. Do you know how many mineral deposits like gold and iron ore found in Yorubaland? Do you know the billions of barrels of untapped hard oil found in the bitumen deposit of Ondo state. Do you know how much arable farming land is in Oyo, Kwara, and Ogun states? Do you know that most of the limestone deposit and cement production in Nigeria can be found in Yorubaland. Do you know that the largest cement plant in the whole of Africa, the Obajana cement plant is in Yorubaland?
You can consider the immense potential that can come from agriculture and cash crops alone like rubber, cocoa, oil palm, banana, orange, coffee, sugarcane, and cotton. The cocoa produced during the autonomous Western region was the reason why Nigeria was the largest cocoa producer in the world exporting cocoa to the various Western countries. Today, due to the neglect of the Nigerian government, the country has fallen to fourth place behind Indonesia. The same thing happen with the production of oil palm, which Nigeria was the largest producer, but has now been surpassed by Indonesia and Malaysia.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s, the same Indonesia and Malaysia used to come to Western Nigeria to take back saplings to their home countries. The oil palm isn't even native to Indonesia and Malaysia, but the west coast of Africa and yet these people are the largest producers after decades of investment in their agriculture and neglects of Nigeria's. The cocoa house, the only sky scrapper in Nigeria at the time and the tallest in Africa at the time was erected by the cocoa proceeds from the region under Odu'a Investment Company Ltd. Back then, it was referred to as "ile awon agbe."
When you look at a vintage picture of western Nigeria in the 70's and compare it to now, one always seems to wonder what happened along the way. For one, unemployment and poverty was lower then compared to now. The quality of education, security, health, and life was better. Isn't it that as a society ages, its people progresses. Why is it the reverse in Nigeria? This is because Nigeria is a failed country and will continue to fail. Things will only get worse for this country. I pity the unborn. |

ODVanguard: My sis, the truth is that Nigeria is only living on borrowed time, either way we want to look at it. It's like asking why the need for this particular thread afterall, if we can't live without one another? This thread is a reinforcement of our SEPARATE IDENTITY compared to the Igbos. History and the Nigerian experiment has shown that we can't live together in the same country with them -- not that we haven't tried anyway, but their domineering tendencies will never allow us be at peace with one another. We will definitely make better neighbours as separate countries coz then there'll be no need to chest-beat or heat up the polity over who rules over whom, and we'll respect each other's boundaries, something that WILL NEVER happen within 'One Nigeria', no matter the 'restructuring' -- as it stands, if all igbos decide to relocate to the SW, we Yorubas can't do shyt about it all in the name of 'One Nigeria'.
But as separate countries we'll both respect ourselves and our boundaries and will be free to deport any troublemaker in our midst without having to apologize for sending their destitutes littering our region back to Anambra or wherever they may come from.
The 'Big Three' tribes will always be at each other's throat trying to dominate one another. Nigeria has proved since independence that we all can't live as a nation. #Fact. This parasitic relationship that currently exists is not sustainable, and will only continue to breed hatred and animousity.
Yorubas are an homogeneous group of people with contiguous borders and a common origin (ile-ife). No such commonality exists amongst the 'Nigerians', which is why Nigeria has been finding it extremely difficult to truly unite as there are no real ties that bind us. All Yorubas share culture, food, dressing, language, etc in common. Again, I emphasize that such commonality and homogeneity doesn't exist amongst Nigerians in general and that's why there can't be any real unity.
This unity begging from some of our folks is just too embarrassing please. Let's even pretend, for the sake of pride, that we too can stand on our own if need be abeg. Or must the rest of Nigeria kick us out before we grow some pride as a people?? Excellent write up. We are not one. If we truly are, then we would not need to shout "One Nigeria". I have not heard of "One Yoruba" before. We need to split. Enough with the lies! |

kn23h: Do you expect someone like him to know that having a Yoruba country doesn't necessarily mean that we can't have diplomatic relationship with other countries? Many of the Yoruba businesses on this thread have companies located in other countries.
No country stands alone. Having a Yoruba country simply means that we have all rights to govern and develop ourselves at our own pace. i.e Yorubas can emphasis on tourism, cultural exploration, natural resource exploration etc.
Hate is a strong word, it's a feeling I don't like entertaining. But....If na say I hate pesin, na unity begging Yorubas who are so ignorant of Yoruba success and commonwealth. Everything falls back on Nigeria's dilapidated education system.
Nigga is even quoting kiriji war...... o ma se. Are y'all still living in stoneages? We will be able to create stable power supply, build better roads, better health care and education system. These are the Yorubas that will stick us to this country for years to come because they are not ready to learn from their fathers mistakes. Imagine living in a country were you provide everything for youself, Even light? Yet, you still have to pay for light you dont use. |
