I think I over-played my game in the house. It wasn’t what I expected. But we are humans, and we are bound to make mistakes.
Yes, I accept the responsibility for my mistakes. I know that I messed up big time. I’m not perfect and I can’t say that I did perfectly well in the house. Although, I tried my best, I think I over-played the game.

Presenting the bill for second reading, the House Majority Leader, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila (Lagos-APC), said the Bill needed to be expanded to accommodate other forms of sexual harassment beyond higher institutions.
The way the bill is now is restrictive. It restricts its enforcement to only higher institutions of learning. What about secondary schools and the work place?
I have concerns over this bill before we concur to it because it did not talk about sexual harassment in the banks, churches and homes.
We should look for a way to widen its scope to encompass sexual harassment in other places.
But Rep. Aminu Shagari (Sokoto-APC) urged the House to go ahead with the concurrence while other aspects could be accommodated later.

Rep. Ayo Omidiran (Osun-APC) in her contribution said: As a woman, I know sexual harassment can take place anywhere be it in market, church or work place; sexual harassment is sexual harassment anywhere.
And women too, harass men not only men harass women so there should be different segments of harassment and it should be accommodated in the bill.

Ruling on the matter, the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, said there will be proper consultations on what should be included or not.
And for that reason we shall adjourn this debate pending when we have done proper consultations on the bill.

Nigerian-hiphop pioneer, Eedris Abdulkareem has came down hard and lambasted on superstar singer, 2face Idibia for dishonouring Daddy Showkey's invitation.

A former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has stated that the agitation for Biafra is not violent and does not violate either the Nigerian constitution or international laws and called on the federal government to dialogue with Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and release Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra London.

Speaking with journalists in Enugu on Thursday, Obi said there was need for the Nigerian government to change its ‘hardline posture and yield to the persistent clamour” by releasing the IPOB leader from detention.

2. It leads to division in the body of Christ. If you believe in healing then be healed but don’t tell me I cannot take drugs because God heals people. I have seen people die because of refusal to take drugs. I know a very rich man who has lost many sons of his because they were not immunized, those children died of tetanus.

I have seen patients die because they refused blood transfusion; saying that blood is the life of creature, why then did Jesus shed his blood for us? Churches have torn apart over issues of whether to shout alleluia or not. If you want to shout alleluia; shout, if you don’t want to shout keep quiet.
If you want to speak in tongue, speak; but don’t disturb the church service and fall on people. If I am not speaking in tongue, fine. I will close my eyes and pray in my understanding. If you believe that Jesus is lord and you hate sin but don’t want to wear shoes, fine for you, it will bring down the price of shoes.

You can disagree on small issues but be willing to understand the view of your brother from the word. I said from the word, because gay and lesbians can call some of us bigots. They are the bigots because lesbianism and gayism are unnatural and unscriptural.

We remember the number of Christians who were burnt during the inquisition some accused of heresy and witchcraft. Those who got more spiritual refused to wear earrings and another rival group insisted they must wear earrings and physical forces had to be applied.

4. It discourages unbelievers from accepting Christ because we send confusing signals to them. Religious bigotry entrenches hypocrisy in the hearts of people. Can you imagine a man was healed on the Sabbath and people were quarrelling over, instead of jubilating and worshiping God. But the same people would have attended to a sick animal on the Sabbath; they place their value for an animal above that of a human.

Carefully observe the leadership of the church, is there the presence of anarchy? Some church leaders have forgotten that they are accountable to someone. This was the problem of King Saul who forgot what Samuel told him: “God has sent me (Samuel) to anoint you (Saul) to be the king over His people” (1 Samuel 15:1), God’s people, not Soul’s people.

Leaders are caretakers of God’s property so they ought to be careful of what of what they do with them. Do you remember what it took God to rescue His people? But what do we see; leaders of the church choose to forget that at whatever level they are, they are accountable to someone who is equally accountable of God.

Oh! If the leaders of Episcopal Church of America (ECUSA) remembered God’s laid down principles in Leviticus, 18:22, 20:13 and Romans 1:26-27, they would not have accepted marriage between the same sex against the scripture and Gene Robinson would not have been consecrated a Bishop.

Why has the church gradually and unthinkingly become autonomous from God? Every church whose foundation is laid on Christ no matter your denomination or dogma has one doctrine and one source; (Ephesians. 4:4-5). Where in the bible have you read of the Apostles naming and selling oil, sand, handkerchief, etc. this is happening at startling rate in the church. People now have faith in the oil they buy, not in the God who saved them. Are we not now guilty of God’s charge against Israel: trusting the creature rather than creator?

Ruminating over this for possible solution, another dilemma emerges: the church, the bride of Jesus now goes to his enemy for power to perform miracles. Why have we chosen to reverse the course of Christ or didn’t the bible say that signs and wonders will follow the preaching of the gospel (Mark. 16:20).

The Apostle preached everywhere; the Lord was with them and confirmed the word with signs and wonders following. Rather than make sure that Lord goes with us, we go after signs and wonders. These idolatrous practices have eaten deep into the spiritual health of the church and are seriously hampering our fierce attack on the kingdom of darkness.

Do we talk about prophets and prophecy? Today, if a church organizes a programme without a ‘prophet’ prophesying that every member of the church will travel abroad, build ten houses in a year, etc. then the programme is not ‘powerful’ or complete. I am not saying that there no genuine prophets and ministers. There are; but many false ones come to tell us what we want to hear. Check the Bible; the number of times prophecies arose; there were clarity of vision and purpose. Above all, the spirit of God confirmed His word.

The present day church is becoming digotrophic-like a deep lake that has a low supply of nutrients. We speak big grammar, speak in all tongues and behave as if we’re swimming in the Holy Ghost; yet there is little or no evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is the time church goes back to the biblical standard.
