Culture / This African Tribe Has Giant Scrotum And They Sit On It Like A Pillow by DEGr8t(m): 6:37am On Apr 17, 2021
The incredible size of the scrotum of men of the Bubal tribe is the result of strange rituals. And although they believe that adding a cow’s discharge in their food increases immunity, such food “addictions” only worsen people’s health.

Their testes at puberty acquire enormous sizes – up to 80cm in diameter. Such large amounts might be obtained from the unconventional diet that the tribe practices. Boys from an early age begin to consume the discharge of cows for food. They believe that this will help them from diseases such as scurvy, rickets, and leukemia. Their photos do not convince many. Often, readers find the tribe unhealthy from the very first glance at them.

Males also believe that by licking the genitals of cows, they become more courageous and more vigorous each time. And this procedure will help the cow to give birth easier.

Health / Wuhan Rejoices End Of Lockdown With Light Show by DEGr8t(m): 5:05pm On Apr 08, 2020
Eleven weeks lockdown, it does something to a city. Wuhan celebrated ‘liberation’ today with an impressive light show on the skyscrapers. The beautiful spectacle was broadcast via all state media, but too much optimism is not yet an issue. Indeed, just today, the Chinese city of Suifenhe again imposed restrictive measures. The fear of a second wave remains.

Wuhan was the first city in the world to be locked on January 23. According to official data, more than 50,000 people became infected with the coronavirus, and more than 2,500 died, accounting for eighty percent of all deaths in China. On the other hand, only three new infections were reported in the Hubei province in the past three weeks. However, all these figures have serious question marks.

But for the time being, the concerns have been resolved. It is estimated that around 55,000 people will leave Wuhan by train today. “I am happy to be able to go to my home in Xiangyang finally,” explained guest worker Liu Xiaomin. More than ten thousand inhabitants took the plane. International travel is, of course, not yet allowed. The capital of China Beijing can only be reached from Wuhan by rail. Those who arrive there will be tested twice for the virus.

To travel, the Chinese must first demonstrate that they are healthy. Via popular apps like WeChat or Alipayonder, they have to fill in their body temperature and indicate whether they have a medical history. Then they are sent a colored code back. Red means that they are probably infected with the coronavirus; orange means that they have had contact with an infected person. Only those who can present the green color will have free access.

Unrest is growing again in China after the number of confirmed infections has almost doubled in 24 hours (from 32 to 62, ed.). Striking: those who have the coronavirus without obvious symptoms are counted separately. That counter has now suddenly quadrupled, from 30 to 137. In most cases, it concerns people who have recently crossed the border.

“We realize that the victory is definitely not in yet,” said Vice Governor Cao Guangjin at a news conference. “We must remain calm and vigilant.”

Suifenhe, a smaller city in the north on the border with Russia, is already anticipating by announcing a new lockdown. One member of the family can still go shopping every three days. “These new infections are putting great pressure on our province of Heilongjiang,” it says. “Suifenhe doesn’t even have a decent hospital, how could one ever cope with a large influx of patients there?”

Health / Public Life Is Picking up In China But Lockdowns, Curfews In Rest of World by DEGr8t(m): 6:19pm On Mar 21, 2020
Life in China is recovering. In Wuhan, shops sell fruit and vegetables again. The zoo opens in Beijing. This regained freedom contrasts sharply with travel restrictions, lockdowns, and curfews in the rest of the world.
Public life is picking up again in China, but Beijing is taking drastic measures to combat new infections from abroad. All flights from abroad are directed to three airports in northern China for the control and possible reception of infected passengers. These are Tianjin, Taiyuan, and Hothot (Inner Mongolia). Healthy passengers are only allowed to travel to Beijing after the check. In recent weeks, China has ‘imported’ more than 80 infections from abroad.

The borders around Wuhan, the seat of the coronavirus, remain locked, but public life in the province is flourishing again. Supermarkets and shops sell fresh fruit and vegetables. Each family has a pass that allows someone to shop for up to two hours. No new infections were detected in Wuhan for the third day in a row.

To get everyone back to work, Prime Minister Li Keqiang puts a stop to all ‘unnecessary restrictions’. “Everyone can go back to their normal life,” said Li. To help people find a job, the government has launched a website with more than ten million vacancies. They must be completed by July.

Iran
Doctors and nurses in Iran see it happen: healthcare is about to collapse. In 16 days, the coronavirus has spread to all 31 provinces. The number of deaths is rising rapidly, to almost 1600. Officially, more than 20,000 people have been infected. Every ten minutes, someone dies from the virus, 50 people become infected every hour, according to the Ministry of Health.

According to doctors, it would be a multiple of it. “Our entire health care system is crashing,” a doctor in Gilan province told British BBC. “We don’t even have enough masks for ourselves. Colleagues die every day,” says the alias Mohammad because his criticism could lead to arrest. “I don’t know how many people have died, but the government is trying to cover up the real magnitude of the crisis. She also lied in the early days.”

A month ago, Tehran said there was no cause for concern. A week later, President Rouhani said that “enemies want to freeze the country.” “We have to continue with our daily lives,” said the president. All the while, the virus outbreak received too little attention. Doctors complain about a lack of test equipment, medicines, oxygen tanks, gloves, and protective gels. The hospitals are full to bursting. According to a doctor, beds have been placed in the local football stadium to accommodate patients. Nairaland / General / Jeff (47) Tired Of Swiping: “whoever Finds A Girlfriend For Me Gets $25,000” by DEGr8t(m): 11:52pm On Feb 18, 2020
Jeff Gebhart has ultimately had it with online dating. To the extent that he now offers 25,000 dollars to those who know how to help him find the love of his life. The 47-year-old entrepreneur from Prairie Village (Kansas) had a website built, especially for the occasion.

According to Gebhart, this stunt can turn out to be the perfect investment. “In my group of friends, we often talk about all the money we spend on dating apps. Not to mention the dates themselves, some should never have taken place. The definition of insanity has always continued to do the same and yet expect a different result.”

Gebhart and his comrades worked on the website for six months. There is the possibility to recommend a friend, but interested candidates can also register themselves. They see the financial reward pass by. The selection is made on a scientific basis based on an extensive questionnaire.

Never married, no children

“I love my life,” Gebhart praises himself. “I like to be physically active. In the summer I prefer to spend my weekends on the water. New adventures do not scare me: I have run through the streets with wild bulls, have jumped out of a plane several times, and I always do snowboarding in my pink rabbit costume.”

Celebrities / P-square: Will They Separate Soon? by DEGr8t(m): 12:55pm On Sep 18, 2017
Again, it seems that new disagreements have sprung up within the Nigerian music group P Square.

According to several consistent sources, it all started with a message from one of the group's members, Paul Okoye, in which he threatened a woman by saying that blood is always stronger. For many Internet users, this text would be intended for the wife of his twin brother Peter Okoye, Lola.

A look at Peter Okoye's Instagram page gives a glimpse of what caused Paul's post.

As usual, when they have a misunderstanding, Peter began using the name of Mr. P and hours before Paul sent his message, Peter had published a poster, calling himself Mr. P and not Psquare.

When a fan expressed his concerns to Peter's post, the singer did not confirm the issue of a possible separation. He replied by saying:
@ suzzywobo55, we both have the right to do individual business. Thank you

In this small area of Guinea-Conakry, in Bolodou, the inhabitants will no longer need to use battery-operated lamps to light at night, thanks to the crazy project of Ibrahima Tounkara.

This young mathematics teacher decided to launch a project with all his savings to provide electricity 24 hours a day to 90 households in his village. This project is based on the construction of a micro-dam on a small torrent through the locality. The plant produces today a power of 9 kW.

Since last May, Ibrahima Tounkara has become a hero in his native village. This all-in-one managed to install the hydroelectric dam on the Gbasso torrent, which runs through Bolodou. This installation, for which he invested 50 million Guinean francs (4,650 euros) from his own funds, took him 1 year of hard work. It was a success for this project, which no one dared to bet at the beginning.

"In the village, I was initially taken for a madman when I explained that I wanted to build a hydroelectric dam. But I was convinced that I could find a solution to create energy in Bolodou. I grew up there, my family lived there, and I was always flabbergasted that nothing was done for the development of these small villages that are completely cut off from the world." said

"In addition to my work as a mathematics teacher, I have always been interested in energy production. I initially started a project around solar panels. I learned to install them, which allowed me to make money by offering my services to families who wanted one at home. I also built a small phone charging booth that runs to solar power in Bolodou. Little by little, I did research on hydroelectric power. In Bolodou, there are small waterfalls that are not at all enhanced... Celebrities / 50 Cent Against Conor Mc Gregor In The Ring? by DEGr8t(m): 8:21pm On Sep 15, 2017
It is not excluded that the next boxing bout pits the rapper 50 cent to boxer Conor McGregor. After the multiple attacks and provocations of the Irish boxer, 50 cent finally answered. Remember that it was the same attitude of Conor McGregor displayed towards Floyd Mayweather during the campaign of promotion for their fight which had ended with the victory of the American by KO

Maybe Conor McGregor would like to take his revenge by rising again on the Ring against 50 cent the friend of Floyd Mayweather.

It must be said that the mouths between 50 cent and Mc Gregor do not date today. When he promoted the battle between Mayweather and the Irish, who was nicknamed Mystic Mac, he had taken 50 Cent free of charge. On stage, he described the rapper as "bitch" and then "fake money bitch" following the financial problems that the rapper encounters with the declaration of his heritage.

But these statements had not shaken the American rapper who had merely dodged the confrontation by quietly replying to Instagram: "What is the problem with this white beak? You're going to face Floyd, not me. LOL."

Today, 50 cent seems to want to go further. Invited last night of the TV show Watch What Happens Live, 50 Cent spoke again on this episode.

The rapper initially said that "it was part of the show, the Irish boxer was only doing his job: it was Irish question to ignite the public, tease the fight and provoke his opponent by all means."

But when Andy Cohen the presenter asked 50 cent if he would win in case of fight, the rapper made a very surprising answer: "In the street? Clearly! Wait, the guy does not even weigh 70 pounds!"

Celebrities / 50 Cent Makes Fun Of Conor Mcgregor by DEGr8t(m): 9:53pm On Sep 08, 2017
It has been about two weeks since the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor took place in Las Vegas in the United States. This beautiful boxing match resulted in the victory of the American on the Irish by KO Since then, 50 cent cannot help but multiply the mockery towards Conor Mc Gregor.

On his account Instagram, he posted a picture on which one can see Conor Mc Gregor out of breath which takes advantage of a few minutes to surround his opponent to breathe a breath of air. 50 cent would have immortalized this moment before posting the photo on which he wrote in legend "What is that? Go ahead Floyd puts this sick KO!"

Everything besides 50 cent puts his where he is laughing with shrapnel. But the rapper does not stop there, he continues with another publication in which he writes: “Policeman: Mr. Mayweather, I will now read your rights to you. Thank you, Agent, I appreciate you doing this for me." A well-hidden way to congratulate Floyd Mayweather of beating Conor McGregor by KO

It must be said that these mockeries of 50 cent are not free. The pikes between 50 cent and Conor McGregor began several weeks before the fight. One recalls that Conor McGregor had publicly called 50 cents of bitch. Faced with this attack, the rapper had not failed to react some time later on Instagram "What is the problem with this white beak? You're going to face Floyd, not me. LOL.", 50 cent had answered.

The Irish lost the fight against Floyd Mayweather, 50 cent profits of its defeat to revive some sequences during which the Irish boxer was in difficulty facing the power of the blows of the American one.

There is a tradition in Nigerian football where players are given sobriquets for one reason or another. Nicknames that simply reveal the true identity of the player. Up9ja presents eight Nigerian footballers with funny nicknames and their origins.

1. Nwankwo Kanu (Papilo)
Kanu is undoubtedly Nigeria's most famous footballer who has represented the country in several national and international competitions. Some remarkable features on this former Arsenal striker is his wisdom, intelligence and gentleness on the field. It is for these reasons that he was nicknamed "Papilo" by his friends.

2. Austin Okocha (Jay Jay)
Okocha is the most enterprising player in the Super Eagles because of his sense of dribbling, which earned him an ambassador role with FIFA. The name Jay Jay was originally attributed to his brother Emmanuel, a former national team player, but with time, Austin took over that nickname.

3. Stephen Keshi (Big Boss)
So far, Stephen Keshi is the captain with the most incredible leadership qualities. He was named Big Boss by his teammates after his appointment as technical advisor to the team while he was still a player. The late Keshi was even a captain in his clubs in Europe. No wonder he was later selected as the national team coach. He managed to qualify Togo and Nigeria for two respective World Cups.

4. Peter Rufai (Dodo Mayana)
Goalkeeper Peter Rufai was nicknamed Dodo Mayana in reference to the name of a popular dancer of Afro Beat King Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

5. Bright Omokaro (10-10)
Nicknamed 10-10 by the commentators, this nickname originates from an incident that occurred in the semi-final of the 1988 African Cup. The Nigeria team had been reduced to 10 after a red card. When Bright entered the second half, he was instructed by his coach, Manfred Hoener, to tactically release a player from Morocco to restore the balance, as the opposing team had already exhausted its three substitutions. The latter had beautiful and well executed the advice of his coach.

6. Segun Odegbami (Mathematical Odegbami)
Segun Odegbami was so good that his well-calculated speed and dribbling sense were compared to mathematics. He had attracted the attention of several people during the CAN 1980 to the point of being named best player of the competition.

7. Teslim Balogun (Thunder Balogun)He was nicknamed Thunder Balogun thanks to his punching power. According to reports, he broke the hands of two goalkeepers while playing for England and killed another goalkeeper after he hit the ball on his stomach.

8. Daniel Amokachi (Taurau)......

Politics / Makers, Observers And Participants In Nigeria Democracy by DEGr8t(m): 7:03pm On Aug 03, 2017
In Abraham Lincoln's phrase, democracy is a "government of the people, by the people and for the people." In school, they always repeat the same phrase, Markets, Offices and even during campaign, they will repeat the same phrase yet none has ever ask those politicians, government of which people? By which people? And for which people? Truly in Nigeria’s phrase, democracy is a government of the Makers, by the Observers and for the Participants. In Nigeria, people fondly say “politics is a dirty game”, yet nobody has ever explained to us, the game being played by who, with who? And for who? Of course the game is played between Makers versus Makers, the Observers are the umpires while the fans are the Participants. For one to be a maker, you must have the umpires and millions of fans.

Who are these makers?

They are the influential politicians in Nigeria, Decision makers, Cabals, Jagaban, godfather and have control over a particular tribe or ethnic group. They endorse the aspirants, pave way for the candidate whom has taken the oath of return investment and nourishes aspirant’s ambition on election eve. Meanwhile, most of these political makers in Nigeria are politicians of the First or Second Republic who have become regional lords or a former military chief of staff who has been able to engage in military political life visible on the occasion that the policy of the army the junta has been entrusted to them. Some of the makers are young but rich non-politicians.

They are the bulldozers on the Election Day, their thugs and octopus are ready for any manipulation in other to ensure their candidate win the election

The makers have a common denominator or interest, they want their money to be repaid with exorbitant profits. In fact they would see nothing wrong if the annual budget is fully integrated on their personal control. They always demand for political control in addition to financial control. Their strange or authentic wishes must be respected or you will be impeached.

They are the first step any aspirant must take, failure to identify the appropriate Maker or failed to consult the oracles (Makers) will be the starting point for your failure. They endorse based on the highest bidder.

They have the observers and participants that works for them.

The Observers

On this category, they are mostly journalists and mouthpiece of the aspirants. They take control of the media, they analyse and give good or bad reputations. One may see them as a weapon used to destroy an opponent, in fact they are the first ballot challenge aspirants face before and after the election.

They are the mediator between the participants and aspirants, any aspirants that failed to honour his agreement with the observers will have his black profile display on the front page of national dailies. They are capable of constructing lies, frame up and allegedly given fake reports about you constantly.

Failure to lobbying with the observers (public writers) will lead to fake analyses and eruption of your weak points. They can dig out ones past life and give it a caption that will put ones on defense and throw ones off balance throughout the election. They are the weapons used to attack and destroy aspirants that failed to honour the maker’s agreement.

These observers always seek to be in agreement with what they can get to cover an event, usually during campaigns. If no money is likely to come in their pocket, then no coverage. But not to go without something, they can twist the story to embarrass, scandalize or sing, thus making the source to seek them for settlement. They usually do what they can to protect their benefactors and raise problems on those they cannot benefit from.

But the present democracy dispensation proved them wrong, like the victory of Donald Trump, even when the Observers summarized Theresa May's, and she did not get the support.

The participants

These are the electorates that support the game when mutual understanding exist, they are like steam engine that will make grade under full steam. They always show the outcome if the makers play their role well, they become sheep when they have good shepherd but become chameleons during voting process. They are ready to dance to any sound of drum provided that drummer gives regular beats and willing to decamp to another sound if the drummer gives better and regular beats.

Few of the participants are trustworthy while the most see the election time as payback time, time to recover the loss and time to take their share of national cake.

Few of the participants become ones fans based on the candidate’s capability while most become ones fans because of ethnicity, tribe and region or endorse by Makers.

They are the sole target of the election, the makers, the observers depend on them to actualize their dream.

The credibility and fairness of the election depend on the participants but little do they know that the negative impact of bad governance will start with them.

Politics / Biafra For Referendum by DEGr8t(m): 12:20pm On Jul 23, 2017
Yesterday “One Nigeria”, today “One Nigeria”, tomorrow one will wake up with the same tone for a marriage that have lasted for over a century. In Nigeria today, “Referendum” and “Restructure” have been the trending words on media. Those that depend on Aso-Rock for daily bread persist that current situation in Nigeria will be over with time, politicians insist on restructure while the oppressed stick to referendum. When a white folk told me that “God wants Nigeria to be one” then I asked, if the God that created us with different in ethnicity, belief and value system or the one that amalgamated us.

The major crisis in Nigeria highlights the inability of amalgams to continue without restlessness.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was the first who sought a bold solution to these problematic issues. Many have this that he failed, since he faced expulsion, and General Effiong surrendered to Gowon. But I firmly say that he has succeeded, because we stand on the foot and paradigm to fight for our modern generation. Ojukwu was a patriotic Nigeria, until the brutal intimidation of his own people began.
Even Awolowo from western Nigeria referred lucidly to Nigeria as "a mere geographical expression". That is to say, people are bound only by the earthly mass and nothing else; No common culture, religion, socio-political structure and psychological make-up. This is manifested by the way he cares just for his people and only for others when the background is attached. Nevertheless, Awolowo is not far from the truth because nepotism, ethnicism, favoritism and tribalism have eaten deep into the tissues of the population. You do not end a columnless form for supplying your tribe! To emphasize those to privilege and oust the Igbo man, the foreigner in his country.

From the current situation in Nigeria, one can conclude that Nigeria can never learn from history. One of the amalgamation rules states that; if the amalgamation does not work after 100 years, disintegration takes over. Our leaders have given a deaf ear to this. We can see what activists are capable of, but we always vote for ex-activists.

We tasted the fruits of agriculture before the emergence of crude oil, but we ignored and stupidly diverted from agriculture. All Igbo lost everything they had and received only 20 pounds after the civil war, but we continued to forget our homeland and develop other parts of the country. Without history, we are blind and we will be eternally lost in neo-colonialism and instability.

So how can we say there is unity in Nigeria when there is a constant bloodshed, when segregation, ethnic chauvinism are integrated into the system, when we cannot do without corruption, and especially when we are born violence without the enjoyment of the peace of parents.

Therefore, instead of winding around the pit of history, consider that the UK has left the EU without pulling a single blow. What they did was a simple referendum, which created the desire of the British to leave the EU to determine their own destiny. They called another general election, which seemed to have put the prime minister's ability to conduct procedures leading to the UK's final exit from the EU. I believe that a referendum option is a better choice than the very essential methods used to solve the problems of our continued existence as a nation.

As a friend fondly says “Although soon Igbo people can be people issued with green cards, as it is done for foreigners. But I am sure that by that time any Biafra born will receive her wage or salary, once born in the Republic of Biafra, constant water supply and electricity and so on...”

Biafra all the way
Politics / Nigeria Or Biafra: Decision From The Masses by DEGr8t(m): 4:47pm On Jul 12, 2017
Political life essentially opposes two social categories. On the one hand, men who decide, direct or govern, and on the other, men whose modes of existence, in their thoughts and actions, depend on the first cities. It is a relationship of power that determines the place, role and value of each member of the social body. All forms of government must strike a balance between those who decide and others.

In the democratic system, this balance appears found with the concept of sovereignty of the people (the people who holds power) and the constitution, which establishes the basic law that all citizens must respect. In any case, the people is the notion and the basic principle of power since the advent of the modern republics in the 18th century of the Enlightenment: the government of the people by the people and for the people.

If the people are the alpha and the omega of the exercise of power in modern republics, if the people are an end and not merely a means to be used, then it must be recognized that the debate, in the present context, Seems ill-committed. At least for two (2) key reasons.

The questionable sovereignty

What dominates, when we speak of sovereignty, is the fact of being able to decide or do something for oneself and for oneself. In law, this supreme authority represented by sovereignty refers to the people, as the first expression or seat of the original political power, that is to say the one from which all other powers (legislative, executive and judicial) take their legitimate sources. It is the people who decide, not God or the king, as in the ancient monarchies. The sovereignty of the people also reflects what is called national sovereignty, that is, the idea, in law, that a State is autonomous, independent of all others.

In Nigeria, often the bloody conflicts of succession, rebellions, coups d'etat, dismantle the notion of sovereignty of the people. Thus, in place of the sovereign people, understood as the original political power, one finds oneself in the presence of conflicts of all kinds or political arrangements. It should be noted that in these troubled times national sovereignty is in principle flouted during the numerous agreements (obtained or imposed) negotiated abroad, with participants whose true representation can not be said to be the nation. How can we talk about the sovereignty of the people?

The constitution: reflection of a population

The materiality of the people's sovereignty is the Constitution. If every people is sovereign, then all constitutions can not be identical! In fact, every constitution translates the soul of a people, its specificity. This is why, concretely, there is a very close link between the experiences of a people (its history) and its constitution. In it, each people expresses their apprehension of life, and especially its fears, its anguishes, its pains, its deepest desires and aspirations, conscious or unconscious. Thus, the criteria of eligibility for the supreme magistracy, the regime of government, the social and economic rules, are very relative. The constitution, therefore, every constitution a people gives itself, seems to be conceived, both to ensure its welfare and to protect itself.

From this perspective, we must not necessarily look at what is done elsewhere to say that this or that people has an aberrant, irrational constitution. Citizens who have voted by a very large majority a law that may seem out of place in other heavens are not necessarily idiots. Allowing the death penalty or not, restricting the accession to the Supreme Judiciary on certain conditions, restricting or not limiting immigration, protecting land ownership or not, authorizing the free movement of persons and goods, etc. , It is not only the sovereignty of peoples, but also their intelligence to propose the solutions that guarantee their best being

In constitutional matters, and in order to respect the sovereignty of the people, there is nothing to be imposed on the basis of imported external standards, although it is true that the goat and the cabbage must be kept alive. All nations defend their interests above all, even in the face of international business law. On the other hand, the recent United Kingdom exit from the European Union shows that the interests of a (sovereign) people can not be decided in the light of the interests of others. That would be alienation.

Thus, a draft constitution can not be made precipitately, without a real popular foundation. It requires intense reflection work out of purely politician games. Nor should it be a pretext for diverting attention from the social and economic problems that undermine the daily lives of the people. A modification of the fundamental law should in no way be a tool in the service of sinners in troubled waters to give life to personal or clan occult interests as is unfortunately too often the case in Nigeria.

Politics / Apc And 5000 Naira Payment To Unemployed Youths by DEGr8t(m): 2:00pm On Jul 01, 2017
A year and seven months, Mr. Solomon Dalong, Minister of Youth and Sports in the Federal Government of Nigeria, assured that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would begin the payment of 5,000 Naira pledged to unemployed Nigerian youth during the election campaign , Starting in 2016. If one can only welcome the good intentions of the Minister of Youth, it is more important to question the meaning and value of N 5,000 for adult citizens for a month rather than raving about fulfilling a campaign promise from the ruling party. Will the payment of N 5000 to Nigerian youth create jobs and solve the problems of poverty? The APC and the Minister of Youth and Sports do not tell Nigerians how an adult citizen will survive with N 5,000 per month until next general election and voting for their party in 2019.

The Minister of Youth and Sports and the APC should consider the challenges of unemployment and think about an appropriate approach to create jobs and stop mocking Nigerian youths. We were expecting elites in the power to bring development through the transformation of the economy. The democratic space in which the APC operates should not be hostile. They should create consensus around the development priorities that can transform our economy.

The ability of the APC to lead our affairs, build strong institutions, create space for civil society organizations and strengthen the capacity of our citizens to participate in governance will be determining factors in measuring its capacity to generate the development it preaches and not the distribution of N 5000.

Jobs can not be created and our economy transformed unless enormous investments are made in education and health, that inclusive growth be promoted, that rural infrastructure be developed to limit desertification in the nation, that massive investments are made in the industry, that human skills are abundant, and that credit is available at low interest rates. The question, then, is not so much to pay 5000 N per month to young people, but what policies and development models should be put in place to create jobs, stimulate development and transform young unemployed into employees.

Do the authorities know that one way to keep their N 5000 and start redefining a new path for development is to place industrialization at the heart of the development process? Without industrialization, we can not build an economy capable of providing employment opportunities and ending poverty. Apparently, all countries that have succeeded in creating jobs and reducing poverty have done so through concrete industrial strategies that have created sustainable and decent jobs.

We expected the APC to reshape our political system and create democratic structures in which we will have debates about the issues we face and the choices that need to be made. The APC has shown that it is not geared to the concerns of citizens; Their ability to understand what is happening in our society is weak. Membership in the party is mainly motivated by cronyism.

I am particularly concerned about our rate of poverty, unemployment and insecurity. The APC does not seem to have understood that if the youth did not go down the street, it is because she still believes that her sufferings will be handled by Buhari. We can expect a crisis of legitimacy that will further degenerate into insecurity. The APC has no choice but to act and make the right choices to restore public confidence in the state. The eventual failure of the APC will be a threat to our democracy, especially since many Nigerians placed a high esteem in them.

It is not a taboo to give unemployed Nigerians N 5000 per month, but the youth minister and the CPA must understand that there is a lot of work to be done to fight unemployment. The aspiration to create jobs is not enough; what matters most is how to create jobs. What the APC does not know is that Rwanda and Mauritius have worked hard for their people; That Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara and Amilcar Cabral have shown that you can only improve the lives of citizens through a determined leadership that the APC needs to acquire.

Creating jobs and fighting unemployment goes beyond the N 5000 model. Certainly, it is a campaign promise, but you can substitute for this raw model a better model of job creation with citizen participation. It is morally reprehensible and unacceptable for a youth minister who allegedly works for the well-being of Nigerian youth to promote a monthly "alms" of N 5000 as a means of combating youth unemployment.

Politics / Nigeria: The Obsession Of Lying In Politics by DEGr8t(m): 10:41pm On Jun 28, 2017
Source:http://www.up9ja.com/2017/06/nigeria-obsession-of-lying-in-politics.html?m=1

Why ethics seems to prevail in all branches of knowledge, in all disciplines, professions or jobs, with the exception of the policy? Of promises not kept, innuendo, of pure machinations have become the rule in politics. The most disturbing thing is the acceptance of these lies by the greatest number.

Manipulation of voters
A Nigeria politician who had asked voters in his constituency to vote for him promising them development was elected. He did not honor his promises in the first four-year term. By making the same promises he was given a second term and still has not respected them. Without deflation, he came back to his constituents, explaining that in politics the first mandate serves to enrich himself personally, the second serves to water his family, and the third can be devoted to the common good. Electing a new candidate would therefore be a danger because the counter would return to zero.

In politics the lies are the law
The moral of this story is that in politics, lies are the rule. In the case of Nigeria, the culture of "political cabals" as I called it, is as old as the national flag. People are promised development, Free meal daily, Monthly stipends for poor Nigerians, Constant power supply, fertilizers for their crops, quality education, medicines in clinics and hospitals, Employment opportunities. The list of promises is endless. Yet, year after year, campaign after campaign, government after the government, Nothing of what has been promised has been achieved. So the only way to stay in power is by lying.

Excessive presidential powers perpetuate the culture of lies
In Nigeria, for example, worship their President without end. This feeling, however, is not without interest. Indeed, a strong president is the foundation of all buddies: companies need contracts; Members are looking for positions; Foreign investors need the resources available in Nigeria, the voiceless need food and decent housing, and so on. Being in the circle of power arranges a lot to benefit from a few crumbs of the national cake. Either one is in worship or adoration and one eats in the system, or one dares to criticize for having nothing in the end. This worship of the heroic president is possible only because it is the only way to success in a failing state.

The culture of lying in politics impoverishes a nation
In politics, it seems that truth is perceived as a weakness. When you tell the truth, even your own supporters may think that "something is wrong with you". There is always a silent cry "Let the best liar win! " and he wins. The cult of self passes before the national interest. This is the end of any social contract. Rhetoric takes precedence over ideas. Empty promises succeed one another and remain unrelentingly sterile and poverty persists. In such a context, development is slow and only the friends in power can improve their lot. All this fuels the thirst for power since it is the only propitious horizon.

A real citizen burst is necessary. People must demand that politicians fulfill their promises within specified time frames. The policy of lying can not go on forever. While there is so much talk about the need for ethics in private companies, it would be time to demand ethics in politics, but this will only be possible if the populations demonstrate demands. We must leave the voluntary servitude denounced in its time. This servitude is an ideal breeding ground for falsehood.

Literature / "Funny War" In West Africa by DEGr8t(m): 9:45pm On Jun 05, 2017
Source: http://www.chenkeleb.com/2017/06/funny-war-in-west-africa.html

The confrontation has begun in recent years. As in the case of the First World War, the "Great War", it had become immobilized in trenches, each one having retrenched itself behind its position. Even if it was cruel, we were amused by what was called the "funny war."

In West Africa, we have our "funny war" to us. Here, to get out of these trenches, and to settle the differences and the dispute, engaged the battle of Alepe (Alépé is a town in south-eastern Ivory Coast). It was in this village that the decisive battle took place with the sword. Both will seek to convert with sharp arguments.

Yes, Alepe is comparable to Bastogne. They are two strategic cities to block, on the one hand, the counter-offensive of the German army, and on the other, the rise of the dissidents who want to seize an Akyy capital. It is always important to have the courage to take the bull by the horns.

Neither cold nor warm, this warm war will pass the upper temperature. We will no longer fight with speckled foil as we have done up to that point. The swords will come out of their scabbards. We will no longer shoot blank even if the sword is a white weapon. One will fight in hand to hand, and foot to foot. It will no longer be at a distance and by soldiers interposed. We move from the "warning" to the brief and direct formula "Warning!". It means that the duel can begin! We forget the "stake" and the stake! Sword of one hand and pen of the other, had written the Portuguese poet Camoens!

It will be with the sword! For want of allies who bombard the adversary without mood. It is not for want of having arrested Mount Olympus. These Olympians, who knows their logic? When Zeus refuses to use his thunders, men must take their fate in their hands!

Once the sword was presented to the other, the battle had to enter its decisive phase. We have no idea of presenting the weapons to the other! Is it not to give him to fight his adversaries? Presenting weapons is not only honorable. It can be argued that everyone can benefit. One must not forget that honoring one is dishonouring the other. Antagonistic, implacable and ruthless dialectic!

What is the difference between a needle and a sword? Easy to find. Do not tell me that one is the other in miniature and that the two sting. One helps sew and consolidate concord. The other serves to dissolve and consolidate the discord. The loincloth is the best success of the needle. Tribute to the creativity of our couturiers, even if we do not grant equal dignity to our dressmakers in front of their machines "Singer".

The time of the needle has passed. We are like the sword! One can say, even if only tactically, that the unit is at the end or point of the sword. After the decisive battle and the defeat-annihilation of the other, unity would come from the suppression of contradiction. By pruning the tree with swords, the unit of the tree will be strengthened. Multiplicity of roots but unit of the trunk. Long live the trunk so that a thousand flowers and a thousand leaves bloom!

The sword seems more noble than to fight with sticks, more honorable than with the sword and the cutlass, even more than with our vulgar cutters. To young people, we leave the use of machetes. The sword is for the gentlemen who have the sense of honor, what we used to see in the films of cloak and sword. D'Artagnan, Portos, Athos, and Aramis! But above all the musketeers who arrested poor Fouquet, the squirrel who wished to dazzle the Sun King!

Alepe is not a cut-throat, a disreputable place and aloof from civilization. It is one of the three capitals in "pe" of the akyé country: Akoupé (Kettin), Adzopé (Tchoya) and Alépé (Lépin). It is suitable for settling disputes between persons of good faith and good education.

What does the militant people do? Wisdom commands them to listen to each other. The akyé country is an important stake after the country wè. That goes without saying. But, they are also apparently actors. They must not remain spectators dumbfounded or amused or disillusioned. They are invited to decide.

Going or not going to Akouré? This is the question, the real question posed by the sword. Those who are going to Akouré must know that they encourage the outcast. And with them they run to their ruin. These are full of rage but lack the courage to face Zeus on his Olympus!

It is necessary to go to the boarding, to throw in the water hoping each not to drown. Everyone is persuaded to be a better swimmer than the other. The navy of Antoine and Cleopatra cast, they lost their illusions and their empire.

The river closest to Alépé is the Comoé if I am not mistaken and probably further the Me which gives its name to the region. Unfortunately, history teaches us that Pearl Harbor did not lead to a Japanese victory. The glove has been thrown away for a long time. On land and on sea and on river, the battle is engaged!

I was interested in the famous battles and swords of old. I realized that Murgleis is the name of the sword of a certain Ganelon, the felon cousin of Roland. That of Goliath will serve to cut off his own head, after his defeat through a modest sling. It is called "Al-Battar" and is also called "The sword of the prophets" . We must beware of the slingers because with their sling they want to play David.

There are sinister swords like "Blutgang" (blut meaning blood) and the well-known one of Damocles, suspended on the heads of all the belligerents. But there are also virtuous swords charged with defending noble causes. Among these are Durandal de Roland, the defeated of Roncesvalles, Excalibur of King Arthur. I do not know the name of Richard's sword heart of lion. But we know that in his captivity, his brother Prince John assured a controversial and disputed succession by Robin Hood and his outlaws. Add to this list of virtuous weapons, the swords forged by the famous Japanese Maisamune.

Even though they have inflicted death on them, one can be delighted to hear sword names such as Charlemagne's "The Joyeuse", William II's "Courtoise". In Northern mythology, the sword "Angurva" is called "brook of anxiety".

One can not be surprised at the battle of Alepe when one learns that the Prophet Muhammad himself possessed nine swords, one of which bore the right name of "Tranchant". Conversions are not always a matter of holy words! It was necessary to fight and cross the iron at that time as in that of the Crusades where sword and crucifix were confused. Jerusalem continues to be the lust of those who have long swords and spoons, as Alepe becomes today, all proportion kept.

Obviously, the affairs of swords are not as tender as it seems. These are weapons that hurt and kill. Ali, the companion of the Prophet paid the price. He was stabbed at Kufa in front of the mosque, from there dating the schism between Shiites and Sunnis! How many blows did Caesar receive in front of the statue of Pompey, saying "Thou also my son! "Or something closer to our situation.

Those who use swords know that they must prepare what they call "secret boot". The famous "Coup de Jarnac" would be a decisive, violent, skillful, unexpected coup d'etat, but also bearing the infamous mark of treason. Jarnac on lagoon Ebrié, who knows what this represents?

Everyone prepares so that the battle of Alepe is decisive and put an end to all the war of division. The Malinké say "Ban kèlè", the battle that puts an end to all battles. Each hopes to carry the stunt, the bull's killing by the matador, placing the sword where it is to ensure its victory and glory. Olé!

And if, in spite of all the rumble and decibels, the battle of Alepe was finally a sword in the water? We would come back to the starting exercise: win or lose ground.

I like Zorro because, apart from the just causes he defends, he does not kill and is content, with his sword, to sign Z on the front of his opponents. But I know that every staccato, and therefore every scar, does not favor forgetfulness or reconciliation. Alepe does not rhyme with peace for the stupid reason that the city is not called Alepaix!
Politics / The Leader Denounces The "Killings" And "Rapes" Of The Igbos by DEGr8t(m): 5:47pm On Jun 05, 2017
Source: http://www.chenkeleb.com/2017/06/the-leader-denounces-killings-and-rapes.html

The prison has not started his fight in Nigeria. She rather gave a name to the young Biafran independence leader Nnamdi Kanu, long unrecognized. And propelled him to the front of the political scene.

The slow pace, he advances in the family courtyard of his hometown, Umuahia (southeast of Nigeria), acclaimed as a "savior" by a crowd of supporters in red-black-green colors of the Biafran flag. He put on the tinsels of a traditional chief.

"I am more determined than ever," the leader of the independence movement for indigenous peoples of Biafra (Ipob), released on bail late April after 10 months behind bars, told AFP.

Still under accusations of "betrayal", he seems to have no use whatsoever of the conditions imposed on him by the courts: a formal ban on speaking to the press and participating in rallies of more than 10 people.
There is no need for him to remain silent as the key date approaches: the fiftieth anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of Biafra, a disinherited region in southeastern Nigeria that was the scene of a bloody civil war between 1967 and 1970.

His goal ? The "civil disobedience" until the organization of a referendum of self-determination for the region. It calls for the "absolute boycott" of all elections.

After the death of more than a million people and the failure of a rebellion, Biafra had finally reintegrated into Nigeria, an ethnic and religious mosaic of nearly 200 million people regularly shaken by tensions intercommunal.

But in igbo territory, the dream of independence never really dissipated, fueled by the feeling of abandonment of Nigerian power.

In turn, veterans and young activists rush to listen to the speaker talents of the 40-year-old with round glasses that has revived the cause. In the living room where he receives, a life-size painting covering a whole wall represents the prodigal son in a martial posture.

The leader denounces the "killings" and "rape" of Igbos by the security forces, the "deliberate policy" led by Muslim President Muhammadu Buhari "to impoverish" his people.

His childhood spent in Umuahia, former capital of the independent Biafra, a few meters from the former bunker of the Biafran armed forces, is undoubtedly not foreign to its political commitment.

He was barely born during the war - he refuses to give his age - but the elder of a sibling of five children is lulled very young by the stories of his father, who logistically supported the resistance.

Lost Tribe of Israel

Unknown to most Nigerians two years ago, the independence activist for a long time launched his virulent diatribes against central government from London, where he settled at the end of his studies, and created the pirate station Radio Biafra in 2009.

He worked in real estate and worked at night on his radio. He joined for a time another independence group, the Movement for the realization of the sovereign State of Biafra (Massob), which he will slam the door to found the Ipob in 2013.

Kanu crosses the red line when he calls openly to take up arms two years later at the Igbo World Congress in Los Angeles: "We need weapons and we need bullets (...) If we do not get Not (the creation of) Biafra, everyone will have to die ".

He was arrested at his hotel in October 2015, during a visit to Nigeria.

The arrest was "inappropriate and unjustified," said Nigerian political scientist and academic Fred Anibeze. "He used the cause of Biafra to make easy publicity through the broadcast of Radio Biafra and it reinforced the demigod that it has become since its release," he told AFP.

His incarceration provokes the anger of the Igbos and several manifestations organized to demand his liberation turn to the bloodbath.

According to Amnesty International, Nigerian security forces killed "at least 150 members and supporters of the pro-Biafra Ipob organization" in 2016, which Abuja denies en bloc.

Kanu embodies "the aspirations of a new generation more militant, more radical" than its elders who have already known the war, assures Don Okereke, security analyst. "He tells people exactly what they want to hear."

If it is difficult to know precisely its capacity of mobilization in the south-east of the country, its faithful devote almost a cult to its person since its exit. It must be said that Kanu maintains the legend, permanently protected by an impressive security service, which thoroughly searches each of its visitors.

Religion is omnipresent in the discourses of the one who now wears talit (the Jewish veil) and observes the Shabbat. Everything started from a "revealing vision" during a trip to Jerusalem: the Igbo - the vast majority of whom are Christians - actually descend from a lost tribe of Israel.

Biafra is the "promised land" which it has set itself the task of re-establishing. And at the Ipob, we wear the kippa.
