PoliticsI Will End Corruption In The Oil Sector In 4 Years....gej by dele1727(op): 1:27pm On Mar 23, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday evening
promised to eradicate corruption in the nation’s
oil sector in the next four years if re-elected
during the Saturday’s Presidential election.
Jonathan made the promise in Lagos at a youth
event tagged “An unimaginable feat in sports”
meant to showcase his administration’s
achievements in the sports sector.
The event which ended in the early hours of
Monday attracted sports men and women, young
professionals as well as beneficiaries of the
Federal Government’s scholarship schemes
among others.
While answering question from one of the
participants during an interactive session of the
event, the President promised to end the
stigmatisation of Nigerians in the international
community because of corruption.
He said his administration had succeeded in using
technology to tackle corruption in many areas
such as fertilizer distribution, procurement and
salary payment among others and will do the
same in the oil industry.
He said, “We are going into oil sector. People talk
about the oil industry because that is an industry
with a lot of people and a lot of money is
involved.
“But I promise you that in the next four years, we
will sanitise the oil sector.”
Jonathan regretted that the issue of corruption is
being over-celebrated in a manner that makes it
look as if the whole of the country is corrupt.
He said all Nigerians must work together to
ensure that the stigmatisation of Nigerians is
cleared.
The President also promise to work with the
young people because of his conviction that
parents who do not encourage young ones are
preparing their families for extinction.
Specifically, he promised that he will give more
youths under the age of 40 years more
opportunities to serve as ministers and heads of
government parastatals.
He said, “Before he left to go and participate in
election as deputy governorship candidate in
Jigawa State, Nurudeen (former Minister of State,
Foreign Affairs) was a minister and he is below 40.
“Last week, we swore in the youngest female
minister. She is also about 40 years old.
“Apart from cabinet positions for under 40s, we
are also appointing young people as heads of
parastatals.
“We want to continue to encourage those in
youth-dominated sectors such as business, sports
and entertainment industries too.
“I can assure you that we shall not go below what
we are currently doing. I know you want more,
vote for us and you will get it.”
Answering a question on poverty rate in the
country, Jonathan puts it at 33.1 percent as
against the over 60 percent that he said some
people were brandishing.
He however added that the issue is not about the
percentage but about the desire of his
government to impact more on the lives of the
people.
On the health sector, Jonathan highlighted the
feats being achieved by some tertiary health
institutions in the country in the areas of kidney
transplant and heart surgeries.
He also mentioned the successes recorded in the
fight against the Ebola Virus Disease, guinea worm
as well as polio.
He promised to do more for the sector if re-
elected.
Jonathan also reiterated his promise to institute
special funds to assist sports men and women if
re-elected.
Overall, he said better days were ahead for the

We need to support this govt on the issue of terrorism thats how it is been done world over. God thank u agree on the agricultural sector but looking maturly at this govt you see a regime building the country from foundation belive it u cannot complete any house in one day. Some governors for example have served 8years but still you have many many problems at their states. We must be realistic to ourselves that things cannot change in one day. It is believe that the challenge against this administration is the highest and can only be compare to the Nigeria-Biafra war. People now is struggling on who control Nigera and it resources? You cannot get the messiah that will change Nigeria overnight because in the absent of peace u cannot develop properly. You require step by step approach. The present govt his given Nigerians a new direction from politics to issue base compaign. Forget those trying and forceing themselves into Aso rock just to have access to national cake. I call them interest group not Nigeria interest. If we all cannot decide on how Nigeria should be govern we can't make progress. We need a common vision for Nigeria. The national conference has given us an opportunity to work out Nigeria but some interest group rejected the conference and wants to maintain the statuo quo of 40years ago. We must talk about Nigeria what and how we want Nigeria? Else we contiune from what we know as Nigeria. If we are united as a people this politicians will not come and devide us along zones. We must unite for the peace of this country because this nation has a history and cannot throw that away. Nigeria unite as it was not like this when people try to go for third tenure. We need a change for Nigeria not individual. Nigeria unite.
I never agreed with the Agricultural transformation, just showing the stupidity of the situation....., however I agree that Nigeria as a whole need change but there are somethings you don't need nigerians for...
Like paying kerosene subsidy that has no effect on the people,,,despitE the fact that yaradua try to stop it
Covering up people like Stella odua, Abba moro on been accused,
Making friends and pardoning, Alamaesiya, rolling with Mustapha Abacha, Bode george...
What does this tell us about the mindset of the man called Gej

The first way he stopped corruption was from locking that weasel Tinubu out of Aso Rock in 3 short weeks! Refusing him any government contracts was step number 2. Step three implement FOI request for info and was denied by Fadhola. 3. How many Governors go to jail while in office? Fashola is out his SAN mates are currently waiting for him and the case is strong. Fashola is going to be delt with and Tinubu is going down with him.
Funny....yet he can not prosecute Tinubu that is not in government....
That is hillarious

But tinubu is in Nigeria if Gej was sincere ...let him send EFCC after him..but Tinubu unlike Bode george, alamesiya has never been convicted....
I do not say tinubu is clean oooo but let Gej show that he is against corruption by succesfully prosecuting corrupt individuals....but you can not name one person who has paid for been corrupt either false or true in his administration

Let him lead by example

See una problem ur celebrating bomb blast and chibok America citizen never talk these manner when the world trade centre were bomb. You believe Fashola is working but Gej has not done anything. It is the kind of politics we find ourselves. Today we have the revolution in the agriculture sector, we have huge construction of federal roads across Nigeria like never before, electric power plants present in various states of Nigeria. The trains are fully back again. The auto mobile industries has receive a boast in Nigeria. The aviation industry receiving attention. Then the Niger bridge under construction and dredging of various sea ports in Nigeria. Youth empowerment through the Youwin and Sure P where i benefited. Jonathan is doing something.
You see what I mean.....
Did americans president deny twin tower bomb blast?
Did the american president wife turn the bomb blast into drama?
Transformation in the agricultural sector yet no reduction in the price of food. We are producing rice like never before but we still buy imported rice?
You build dams and electricity, yet we have no light and even pay more bill for less power
You earn more than previous administration yet you did not save, spent those money saved before your administration,,still borrowed money ...but we can not see what the money is used for...
I don't hate or dislike him...but nigeria has fared very badly in his 6 years

But Gej is the one telling us what he is doing, we are not feel it
Gej tells us that nigerian rice is now available yet I cannot see it
Gej tells us that power has improved but I cannot feel it..infact I now pay more for less
Gej pays subsidy on kerosene yet I still buy @market price
Gej denies all things .....chibok girls, abuja bomb blast, his wife health, morroco phone talk....to the level I know now believe he does not know what is going on in his government..
To crown it all...he personally admit to be a failure ...should I believe such a person...

What governor can be compared to Fashola ? None came close. In terms of roads jobs housing employment security provision of basic amenities such as water education just name and yet he does not have the largest state revenue in the country. Every Jonathan support should be sincere to their conscience. Fashola is miles ahead every other governor in Nigeria even though he's not doing enough but no one has achieved half of what he achieved. Fashola's achievement in terms of infrastructure daft even the president's achievement put together both in KM of constructed roads housing hospitals and even transportation.
Confirm...thanks for speaking with fact...

...The point is that Fashola who made this statement knew what he was saying,...
If since 2008 till 2014, there was no succesful robbery in lagos, why was it successful now (2015)...
Simple. because policing in lagos become lax as the protection of the president is obviously the the no 1 thing on their mind....which is normal...

Hosting the president is no small issue..its like having a G.O of a church visit a branch, normal service is shattered to pieces, and little things are overlooked...
Imaging G.O adeboye visit a branche in surulere 4 times in 3months...a lot of things will be amiss..

So Fashola knows what he is saying...Hate it or Love it...he has said the truth

I think the card reader might affect APC adversely. The card reader test in north e.g kano had lower success rate than in the south. If this repeats itself on the election day, the northern block votes APC is expecting might not be able to vote. Also, cases we heard in the past where minors are allowed to vote may not be possible anymore.
In my opinion, I think the election will be decided by these card readers. PDP probably has a plan, and strangely I think a lot of people in APC controlled states will get disenfranchised by the card reader. By then it will be too late for APC to change their decision about the card readers.
I agree with you but why is it that it is the PDP that is against it....that is the question

We do not support the use of card readers...PDP governors forum

We insist on the use of Card readers...APC

So why is PDP that has not cloned cards against Card readers that will expose cloned cards and the APC that has allegedly being caught in the act of Cloning is all for CARD READERS?

IS THERE SOMETHING THE PDP IS NOT TELLING US ABOUT CARD READERS?

PoliticsRe: Igbo Group In Lagos Writes Fashola, Complains About Marginalisation by dele1727: 3:44pm On Dec 29, 2014
Validated:
I knew a landlord who had an Ibo tenant. The tenant had a booming business and landlord was getting rent regularly. Incremental rent was as he wished.

The tenant and his wife grew the small stall and soon expanded to occupy two additional rooms in the house. They created shelves and turned the small shop into a supermarket.

Then the landlord and his wife became jealous. So the asked the man to pack. They claimed that they wanted to renovate the place for their son who is grown and needs a room. Against all plea, the landlord insisted that the Ibo man must pack. The Ibo man packed and luckily got another space on Ifako-Ijaye Road. This was in 2010.

Meanwhile landlord and wife opened a supermarket. Fast forward to July 2014, landlord supermarket has since closed and deserted. The same Ibo trader just bought the house from him and allowed his (landlord) son to live in one room.

This is the irony of a Lagos "Landlord". My question really is "who owns Lagos"? If you take a census you would be surprised. For example in my small street, we have about 15 Landlords. Of these number, 4 are Yorubas.. The rest are Ibos and Mid-Westerners. The Yoruba neighbour opposite my house is late and the feelers is that the children are willing to sell. The one beside is is uncompleted and may be sold soon as it requires demolition.

A good example is the Obawoles. They owned almost half of Ifako-Ijaye, but as I write almost 70% of the land have been sold to "Visitors" who now have 99 years occupancy rights. Who is the landlord or rather who owns Lagos if I may ask?

You are the judge.
As a yoruba man I agree to what you have just said...(Thanks for reminding us) but remeber that was what happened in North prior to the civil war...but what happened when the war started,, All business and propeties owned by your people in the north was taken back home abi....
You think ojukwu that wept at Alaba is a fool abi..and remeber his advise to you...why don't we do this in our Land?
