I congratulate not the APC but I give them kudos nevertheless for giving the people the weapon to fight for themselves and their rights by burying Individual interest and agreeing to work for the good of the party as said by Governor BabaTunde Raji Fashola(BRF) “we can only form a party we cannot vote ourselves into power. It is only the people that can do that”
We should not forget that this victory will have been impossible, if not for the effort of the outgoing president (Goodluck Ebele Jonathan) to single handedly destroy the PDP just to satisfy his own dreams and aspirations, so the many errors of GEJ should be a lesson to the APC and all managers of teams and groups, the interest of the organization (party, team, group, company) should be paramount in our decisions and relations. The worst persons to have as enemies or competitors are those that were once allies or confidant.
The interest of the party is important to the politicians as i said earlier but the interest of the people supersedes the interest of the party. as can be seen, the people’s will now count, thanks to professor Attairu Jega who brought innovations and had the needed character,motives and ideas to implement his inovations, the people can now pick and drop the party they wish to be at the helms of their affairs.
Political parties will soon become like banks (I hope and pray) who once were supreme and put people through hell to open accounts with them but now banks at the mercy of the people. The people can now choose which bank they want regardless of their social economic status and job description. The people now consider factors like zero account balance (i do), interest rate, numbers and nationwide coverage of branches, atm machine efficency rate, prescence of mobile and internet banking etc before choosing the bank who will manage his or her money. This will soon apply to political parties where voters will ask for your plan and policies on security, education, housing, health, agriculultre, economy, employment, aviation and foreign policy before deciding to give you their votes.
I sincerely hope that the period whereby parties will throw insults at each other instead of telling the people their plans for them has ended and non performers are voted out as soon as possible(election time) as can be seen in kogi state and benue state where PDP where kicked out because of idris wada and gabriel suswam refuse to act according to the oath they swore.
To show their displeasure with them, both of them sitting governors were denied senatorial seat and lost their state to the opposition thereby diminishing their political clout and sending them back to their homes...kudos to the people of Kogi and Benue who saw a bad thing and condemed it in the strongest of terms.If you an Igala, Okun or an Ebira person from kogi or a Tiv, Idoma or Igede person from benue, please wherever you are take a bow for am proud to call you my brother.
Kudos also goes to my Mushin folks in Lagos who saw the good works of Mr. Kako Are in their lives and spoke up for him when his party the APC decideded to cheat him. He join the Accord party and they rewarded him with a return to the House of Representatives. Showing clearly that the interest of the people supersedes the interest of the party for Mr Kako Are is the best Representative of the people in Lagos, his constituency projects are second to none ( I stand to be corrected), he held no rallies and only printed posters yet the mushin people supported him…. Kudos to Mushin people
Unlike my Ndigbo brothers from Abia state who choose to reward the wicked with kola, the callous with honey and the thief with shelter and protection by giving their outgoing governor Theodor Orji a senatorial seat in Abuja when he deserves to seat on bare muddy floor of Aba.
I only seek to congratulate the vast majority of Nigerians who choose to branch off a path that will surely lead to drstruction by bravely choosing another path which they know not where it leads.
As i congratulate them, I also implore them to be watchful of this new path least it becomes just like the path of old and to constantly remind the new path why we left the old one.
In this regard I pray that the PDP will not go into oblivion as I see them doing. The PDP should get it’s act together and redefine themselved into a worthy opposition by forging an ideology from somewhere (since they have none presently) and recruit intelligent and passionate young people because the APC need a strong opposition. The PDP misbehaved for 16 years because their was no strong alternative who has nation wide reach as they do. I don't want the APC to be too comfortable or secure with the knowledge that only their party exist which may lead to stupid and foolish utterances like this "PDP WILL RULE NIGERIA FOR 60 YEARS"
Finally the Nigeria of my dream is a nation who produces his own food and 70% of what it needs and uses a country who will be a point of destination of for those with health issues and those who seek educational advancement because of its advance health sector and Education sector....what is the Nigeria of your dream? We can make it happen, it begins with you.
