Culture › OBA Is A Yoruba Term Not Bini by deleib(op): 1:36pm On Feb 11, 2016
Oba (ruler) Oba is the word for King in the Yoruba language of contemporary West Africa Nigeria. Kings in Yorubaland are known as Obas, for example Oba Sijuade of Ile ife, Oba Aromoralan of Ijeshaland, Oba Adeyemi of Oyo, Oba Eriediewa of Benin. The Benin people adopted the word from the Yoruba. The Benin word for King is Ogie or Ogiso changed to Oba when Eweka l son of yoruba prince Oranmiyan came to the throne in Benin. Aristocratic titles among the Yoruba The Yoruba chieftaincy system can be divided into four separate ranks: royal chiefs, noble chiefs, religious chiefs and common chiefs. The royals are led by the Obas, who sit at the apex of the hierarchy and serve as the fons honorum of the entire system. They are joined in the class of royal chiefs by the titled cadets of their royal families. The three other ranks, who traditionally provide the membership of a series of privy councils , sects and guilds , oversee the day-to-day administration of the Yoruba traditional states and are led by the Ogbonis , the Babalawos and the titled elders of the kingdoms' constituent families. Oba Beaded Crown "Ade" of King Onijagbo Obasoro Alowolodu, Ogoga of Ikere There are two different kinds of Yoruba monarchs: The kings of Yoruba clans, which are often simply networks of related towns (for example, the oba of the Egba bears the title "Alake of Egbaland" because his ancestral seat is the Ake quarter of Abeokuta , hence the title Alake, which is Yoruba for Man of Ake. The Oyo oba, meanwhile, bears the title "Alaafin", which means Man of the palace ), and the kings of individual Yoruba towns. For example, the king of Iwo - a town in Osun State - bears the title "Olu'wo" (Olu of Iwo, lit. Lord of Iwo). The first generation towns of the Yoruba homeland, which encompasses large swathes of the said countries of Benin, Nigeria and Togo, are those with obas who generally wear beaded crowns; the rulers of many of the 'second generation' settlements are also often obas. Those that remain and those of the third generation tend to only be headed by the holders of the title "Baale" (lit. Father of the Land ), who do not wear crowns and who are, at least in theory, the reigning viceroys of people who do.

Politics › Re: Buhari, Time We Stopped Lying To Ourselves - Abimbola Adelakun by deleib(m): 11:18am On Feb 11, 2016
to me, the only thing buhari can do is to fight corruption. he doesn't understand how to solve Nigeria's problems especially d economic and unemployment one.

I think d guy is as clueless as gej having regretted to become d president when Nigeria's economy is plummeting.

The general problem we have in Nigeria is leadership without ideology. our leaders can't solve problem because they don't have good political and economic ideology. Our leaders do not Read and that's what make them clueless the most.

Politics › Alert: Mtn Starts To Scam Its Customer by deleib(op): 9:43pm On Nov 02, 2015
Granted, I have been enjoying the goodwill of mtn bundle bonus for sometimes now not knowing that mtn will soon call for my head. I recharged N300 this evening inorder to use N250 to get a bundle bonus of N750 which invariably should last a week. Unfortunately this night, after i had used nearly N100, mtn just alerted with a message that "my capaign has expired". I was so dumbfounded. Ever since the evening, i've been calling their customer care but they won't pick my calls of which if i call them within few seconds on a normal day, the pick my calls quickly. This even makes it more obvious that it was a delibrate action to extort us(their customers). This is ridiculous and a big fraud from a reputable multinational like mtn. The general public should beware of this.
Christianity Etc › Why Doesn't God Answer Mankind Like Earthly Fathers by deleib(op): 9:11pm On Sep 18, 2015
The scripture call the believers sons of God. It also admonishes us to ask and it shall be granted to us. Now why is it that God doesn't grant our prayer 4 a long time unlike our earthly father who does something in his capacity for us at our request?

I've been asking God to help me with a little thing now 4 a long time, He doesn't answer me. It makes me feel bad.

Where's God?

Your case is dead on arrival. Before the case of a rape can be established there must be a deep penetration. In law, It is only a man that rapes a woman. A man can also rape a man(in the case of sodomy). So u've got no case.
