IMPORTANT NOTICE (kindly read to the end)

PROPOSITION: Domain Co-ownership

It is now a fact that domain business is a number game. In other words, the size of your portfolio largely determines, at the end of the day, the rate of domain sales you will be getting on a regular basis provided you've got good names.

For this reason, I want to propose a domain group of not more than 10 people who will contribute—equally—together to co-own domains.

How do I mean?

If you have 10 Dolls, as an instance, at 5 Dolls, domain pr0m0 rate, you will only be able to get 2 domains. But in a group of 10 people with 10 Dolls each will co-own 20 domains in an instant.

Intuitively, as a member of the group, in just a little time, you will be the proud owner of 20 domains with just your 10 Dolls that can only get 2 domains.

That also shows that if the group now has 6,240 domains (as projected by me for 5 years based on atleast 1 domain sale per month at 25% broughtback from each member profit shared), it equally means you own 6,240 domains, too, which would have literally cost 46.6M if any one person tries to own such portfolio.

Notably, this proposition DRASTICALLY reduces the burden of renewal cost, as renewal cost is being equally shared by the group.

Of course, chances of getting domain sales increases as the group portfolio increases on a monthly basis. However, PROFIT is shared between the 10 members of the group.

IN A NUTSHELL...

👉If the group owns 1,000 domains, 10% of it (100 domains) will be in each members Afternic account to mitigate risk of co-ownership palava.

👉Once a sale comes in, the member with the domain receives the fund and share it equally after marketplace commission.
📌2k (minimum pricing of group domain) will be shared 200 Dolls each.
📌5k will be shared 500 Dolls each and so on.

👉Of Course, each member can own his own personal domains separately.

👉Any or all members of the group can share any domain sale from the group in any platform provided the person states that the sale is co-owned by him and some group members.

👉Each member is mandated to register 3 domains on a monthly basis for the group, either the registration is done at once or at different timing within the space of 30 days.

👉Each domain to be registered in the group by any member MUST be scrutinized and accepted by the group before the registration is done.

👉Group name is Joint Domain Partnership (JDP).

👉 JDP will only focus on INBOUND DOMAINS, which can be BRANDABLE or EMD domains only.

Note, once 10 people show up, the group closes FOREVER.

One fateful Saturday I posted some pictures on my Whatsapp status, it was pictures I saw on a post on nairaland frontpage about childhood life in the 90s when we were kids, it was local made toys we used such as catapult,kites, Boris and the rest, so I downloaded the pics and posted the pics on my statues bragging about how I am not Gen-z mate and deserve their respect.

However on one of the post I posted an old picture of catapult and caption it with "no whine me I don kill plenty bird" because I love shooting catapult during my childhood ,however one of my guys we worked together before saw the post liked it and then commented saying do I mean it that I have killed plenty birds and said something like no talk am again "habakraya na airlord oo" I already knew what he meant because that is a very popular Eiye slang.
Omo ever since then it seems he reported me to his other guys and they jokingly remind me of that post anything they see me,they praise me over it, though I know it's a joke but I feel this guy will not take their eyes off the matter.

If you must help someone, make sure you don’t help them beyond their capability. I will narrate an experience I learnt bitterly from.

So I had this extended family I grew up with, like a brother to me. His parents were poor, but as kids, social status wasn’t a barrier in our relationship.

He always struggled with money, and have mostly being doing menial job that can’t even sustain him to the next month.

So I helped him leveled up. I devised a plan that will elevate him to the next stage, and give him a healthy head start.

I paired him up with someone to rent a 2 bedroom flat together and paid his part, bought a car from a friend and gave to him to run uber, giving him a healthy head start so he can sort his life out.

All he has to do is just work and save, and from next year when the rent end, renews it and live responsibly. This was in 2019. He has no expense except fuel the car, and normal car expenses.

But this guy suddenly felt like he has arrived, and all he did with the car was carry girls up and down, work only when he feels like and was flexing. Sometimes the car will break down due to his recklessness, and I’ll help him repair it.

Until a year later when it was time to renew his rent, and he doesn’t have any money. He wasted the opportunity he had, and was expecting me to renew the rent for him.

I was furious. I didn’t renew the rent, he was chased out of the house, but I left the car for him. Few months later, he sold the car and went back square one being poor and doing menial jobs.

Then I learnt a lesson that you can’t elevate a person more than their ability. You can believe a chicken can fly, but if you lift it up and leave it, it will fly back to the ground.


So if you choose to help someone, don’t help more than their capabilities or in such a way that it leads to a break down of relationships, because you assume everyone can exploit opportunities when they find one.

Giving him urgent 2k would have been better, and at least we would still be in good terms. But my idea to level him up made me lost money, a brother, a learnt a bitter lesson.

It makes me understood clearly the biblical “parable of the talents” in Mathew 25:14-30. Where the master gave talents to three of his servants, and the last one came with excuses while he couldn’t doubled his talent like the rest.

We are all humans and created in the image of God, but thinking we are all equal in capabilities is nonsense.

Sorry about the wasted investment sir. However, it all comes down to the individual involved. There are people with worse background who will do better then the said friend.
