When we were saying Civics are fantabulous, Corolla fanboys no gree us hear word. The 2008-2010 Elantra is equally fantabulous. And both cars are actual good looking cars unlike that shit can. Gosh I hate that corolla ehn, to the extent that I no fit buy am for even resale.

AutosRe: FG Suspends New Levy On Imported Vehicles; Impact On Current Prices Of Cars by demolagilbert: 8:24pm On Jul 07, 2023
Op, you didn't read the news article in-depth. It says it applies to only specific vehicles...and I can tell you for free that the said vehicles are not used by 99.99% of Nigerians.

They are categorised as imported new vehicles, car models of three years ago to date that normally pay 35% import duty, and an additional 35% levy, an order effected during Bubu tenure to supposedly aid local manufacturers of cars (even tho the nigga no patronise the so-called local manufacturers as scammer wey e be). So those are 2020-2023 car models, and how many people use those?

Don't be too closed off to learning new things. Learning new things is a good thing.

For those who care to learn, there is nothing like V4, the correct term is i4 meaning inline 4cyl. There are i6 cars eg Volvo 3.2l engines that are inline 6 cyl.

V6, V8 and V12 are called V's cos they have 3 or 4 or 6 plugs on each side parallel to one another hence the V shape and depiction. To say V4 would mean 2 plugs each on opposite sides and that doesn't exist at least as at now.

Also JEEP is actually a brand name like the other person was trying to tell you. As the person rightly said, Lexus is not a jeep. We just call it jeep just like we call every seasoning 'maggi', and every noodles 'indomie'. Jeep is a brand name like Toyota is a brand name. The right term is SUV.

Wrong heading. This is clearly a RX350, cos you can clearly see the 3.5l 2GR engine, while a RX330 uses the other smaller 3.3l engine.

By virtual of my education background, I am more schooled than you are.....
Dude, you need to learn how to LEARN. Truly, you are ignorant of happenings as far as it concerns car import in Nigeria, esp over the last year. The pathetic part is rather than learn, you are just here arguing blindly about something you know next to nothing
about. Classic cognitive dissonance on display.

1. For over a year now any car year/model pays comparable or higher custom duty than a 2014 car/model. Yes! You can pay as much as 1.5m to clear this car.

2. Even if you buy an accidented car for cheap (which aren't even cheap if you get off your keyboard and try buying one), shipping costs are same as clean title, trucking to the port costs same. These two alone will cost you nothing less than 2500usd in the best of circumstances presently. Multiply that by 750, how much e be?

3. Now let's assume you buy a crappy accidented car for 1000usd , oya add all the costs up there to this 1k is and tell me the sum. After you get the sum, now add the costs of fixing the car here in Nigeria. Then tell me the grand total.

I detest when never do wells just spew hate towards other people. The man is trying to make a living, and you with zero buying intention will just come on here to make a nuisance of yourself. Import your own car and see what it's like. The nerve!!

I jus read the news, and from July 1 due to the naira float the customs conversion rate is going to 700+ meaning clearing cost will almost double and someone wey no even wan buy dey argue price for another person advert. Dont worry una go still buy the same car with 5m plus abeg. Nonsense.

Op, don't drink and drive. Don't overspeed so you can stay alive to buy a newer, bigger one. Use recommended fluids esp ATF. Buy a scanner, so you are aware of issues that come up per time and get help from people on here in fixing them. Don't let your car get kazeemed!

AutosRe: The Person That Lied To Nigerians That Driving With AC Uses More Fuel Will Never by demolagilbert:
Situate the facts properly.

To summarize, your car uses less fuel with the AC ON with highway driving conditions of above 80kmh. Your car uses more fuel with the AC ON with city driving conditions of lower than 80kmh. So, when you're speeding wind up the glass and use AC, and when you are not speeding, wind down the glass. You do need to do both things in those circumstances, if you want to save fuel.

Badb0y4lyf:
It’s almost the same consumption at fuel 488L 2Hrs 38 min and LPG 3hrs17 minutes @650 kg
You're right. Nice one sha Gazzuzz. At least now folks can know what to expect and go for what works for them. At the current price point of both, it looks like a tie to me...although the lpg would be better for the environment.
MODIFIED: I can now see that the 2hr 38 was uploaded while the LPG test was still in progress, and the 3hrs 17 is the final score
Also, like someone pointed out, shouldn't CNG have been used in place of LPG?. Cos I know cars run on CNG wella, so gens should be able to as well, AND CNG is wayyyy cheaper. I think CNG should have been used, and that one makes financial sense big time.
